Radio is clear and the phone sounds good.
Pros: Touchscreen and i can use th bluetooth.
Cons: Cant mirror phone to screen.
The Kenwood Excelon DDX595 DVD receiver brings in more smartphone integration, using WebLink to let you use apps like Waze, YouTube, and Yelp for assistance on your drive. Don't worry, Kenwood didn't skimp on other phone features like music from Internet radio stations, Bluetooth® streaming, and a Kenwood app to control the receiver.
iPhone and Android users, you can tap into Internet radio stations like Pandora® and Spotify for huge music libraries that can stream to this Kenwood. If you're looking for radio stations that stick with you, add a SiriusXM tuner to this Kenwood to enjoy satellite radio's deep programming from coast to coast. You can plug your Android phone or iPhone into the rear-panel USB port, and control the music in your phone while you charge it. The port can also handle music stored on a thumb drive, including high-resolution FLAC music files. You can even go old school with all those little shiny discs (CDs and DVDs) in your collection.
Bluetooth enables wireless streaming for music, podcasts, and audiobooks, along with the convenience of hands-free phone calls. This Kenwood lets you quickly switch between two paired phones — handy for vehicles with more than one driver. You can also control this car stereo directly from your iPhone® or Android™ phone using Kenwood's free Remote app.
Use the 13-band equalizer and built-in digital time alignment to put yourself right in the recording studio. The DDX595 also provides three pairs of RCA preamp outputs that'll send a clean, 5-volt signal to any outboard amps in your system. This Kenwood also includes front and rear camera inputs, letting you connect dash and backup cameras. The Kenwood's screen will show the rear camera feed with graphic parking lines when your vehicle is in reverse — a great feature, especially for tight parking spots.
The DDX595 offers compatibility you won't find in many other aftermarket radios, thanks to the iDatalink Maestro module (not included). In a wide selection of vehicles, this module lets you keep factory features that you'd otherwise lose when you install a new radio. You'll also be able to check out engine performance data and other vehicle info on the Kenwood's screen. Once you've identified your vehicle, you'll see the iDatalink module offered on the way to the Shopping Cart if it's compatible.
In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with this car stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and radio, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls. You'll see the adapters that work with your vehicle when you add this receiver to your cart.
Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.
iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.
