Lack of adequate information from manufacture

Joe from Salem, SC on 5/13/2017

Left and right compartments: Sunfire power amp fits in the compartment but will not fit all the way forward. Hinge in the way. Manufacture gave overall dimensions, never said anything about the hinges. You lose 3/4" in width. Center compartment top: Back non removable. Cable chase to small for cables. Must reach behind unit and assist cables in-order to slide stereo equipment out and attach cables. Center compartment bottom: Back non removable. Cut opening to small. Stereo cables hit the bottom of cut out. Stereo unit will not slide far enough back because of the cables.

Pros: Good looking

Cons: Center back (top & bottom) non removable, cable chase to small in center top shelf. The cables hang up when trying to service equipment for removal. Hinges in way on side compartments (manufacture didn't take this into consideration when giving the dimensions). Very important when you need to determine if your equipment will fit.

BDI Marina

The BDI Marina is a beautiful piece of furniture that works well with our 65" large screen TV. At it's price, we assumed it would be a quality unit, but it exceeded our expectations both in looks, design and construction. It is built like a tank yet it has an elegance about it. Beautiful gloss finish, clean lines, smooth remote friendly glass doors, cable management and ventilation, all integrated into a classic piece, wow! The whole family loves the look.

Pros: Design, build quality, functionality. Packing was excellent too, the only think to do was to pop the two back ventilation panels into their slots and move it into place. The doors came preinstalled. Pretty painless.

Cons: I have a large tube amp that is 19"s wide and it is a tight fit, so measure the width of your components closely. Depth was not a problem. If you are planning to use a sound bar in the center opening, measure first.

BDI Marina - Black

Matt from Saratoga, CA on 3/14/2011

Ordered the BDI Marina for it's clean look and perfect size for my needs. I've owned it for nearly a year and have a Yamaha RXA2000 receiver, Sony PS3, Direct TV DVR and more than 100 blue-ray discs fitting easily inside. I also have a Polk CSi A6 Center Speaker which is a perfect fit in the space provided so it doesn't have to sit on top of the unit. The Polk speaker is adjustable so it can be optimized relative to the viewer from the mounting position in the BDI unit - nice! I must admit, the quality and craftsmanship of the unit are exceptional. BDI clearly engineers the furniture grade cabinet with Audio/Video useability in mind. The shelves and the unit are highly configurable and vented for A/V components. All the hinged doors have integral dampeners (no slamming) and operate like butter. The tinted glass allows just enough visibility for component lighting to be seen without being obnoxious. The unit is SOLID and appears like it is built to last for decades. Expensive but worth it.

Q
Where was this made?

A
Designed in the USA - made in China. At least the one I bought. Great piece of furniture regardless.

Thanks for your question. We only have preliminary information from the manufacturer at this time. Other BDI products we have carried were made in China. I'm sorry I don't have an exact answer but hope this helps.
