Overview: The Honeywell Lyric Wi-Fi Water Leak and Freeze Detector (RCHW3610WF) notifies you when a leak is detected in your home, or the ambient temperature has dropped below a preset point. It works with the Lyric app on your smartphone or tablet so you can instantly receive an early warning to possibly prevent expensive repairs or the loss of personal possessions. It also emits a loud beep to alert you while you're at home. The detector is powered by three AA alkaline batteries (included), and comes with a 48" Cable Sensor that extends the sensing area.
Built-in Wi-Fi: The RCHW3610WF connects to your smartphone, tablet, or laptop through your home Wi-Fi network and the Lyric app. During setup, the detector can be configured through the app, setting the high and low levels for humidity and temperature warnings, and identifying persons to notify in case of the alarm. When a leak is detected, or when the temperature near the sensor has dropped below a preset level, the app will notify you on your smartphone or tablet. You can also mute the detector by pressing the mute button on the app. In addition, the can also view a 30-day rolling temperature trends report, or notify you when the Wi-Fi connection has failed. The Lyric app is compatible with smartphones and tablets running iOS 9.0 or later, or Android 4.3 and up.
Sensor Placement: The Lyric Wi-Fi Water Leak and Freeze Detector is designed to be placed flat on the floor or a surface near a potential water leak (washing machine, dishwasher, water heater, sink, etc.) When water touches the two metal detectors on the bottom of the detector, an electrical circuit is completed, triggering the alarm and the Wi-Fi notification to your smartphone or tablet. You can also wall mount the detector and plug in the included Cable Sensor to detect the leak.
Cable Sensor: The 48" plug-in Cable Sensor included in the box allows you to extend the range of the water leak sensor. The cable has a male 3.5mm plug on one end and a female 3.5mm jack on the other, allowing you to daisy-chain additional cable sensors together. The entire length of the cable is a water sensor, not just the end.
Reusable: After a water leak alert, you can reuse the detector and cable after allowing it to completely dry. Resetting the detector or restoring factory defaults requires inserting a paper clip into the reset hole.
