About the Elite Screens Starling Tab-Tension 2

Big-screen movie fun with the push of a button

This value-priced retractable screen uses Elite's CineGrey 5D® material to reject most ambient and ceiling room light. Its ability to boost picture brightness and contrast counters the tendency of ambient light to wash out the projected image. Now home theater fans can enjoy the immersive impact of a projector system in real-world rooms.

A closer look at CineGrey

Conventional white or gray screens work fine in the cave-like darkness of a dedicated theater. But it takes a special material like CineGrey 5D to maintain a sharp, colorful image with the lights on.

CineGrey 5D places a diffusion layer over a highly reflective layer. The direct light from the projector is reflected squarely back at viewers, while the outer layer enhances contrast and reflects away indirect ambient light.

The screen comes with two remotes (one IR, one RF), as well as a 12-volt trigger to coordinate the screen's drop and rise with turning your projector on or off. Manual up/down buttons on the screen case ensure that the show will go on even if the remote goes missing.

A pair of sliding brackets is included for flush wall/ceiling installation.

Easy to install & great picture

The screen was easy to install and once the remote was programmed everything was a breeze. Its a bit smelly though and hopefully it will wear off soon, it probably because the screen was newly made. I have an ultra HD 4K projector and now even the HD sports broadcasts are high quality viewing.

Customer Q&A

3 questions already asked

Q
Is this screen acoustically transparent? I have a center channel speaker located behind my current screen.
[ William  Apr 21, 2019 ]

A
That screen is not acoustically transparent. We don't have any motorized screens that are. Here is a list of all the large acoustically transparent screens we carry: https://bit.ly/2WjAFmP

Q
If this screen is wall mounted, can it be hard-wired, rather than using a cord and plug?
[ Allen  May 17, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
Hi Allen! I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question.

Q
Does it include a cover for the opening when ceiling mounting the screen?
[ James  Mar 19, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
The screen retracts into a case; it's shown in the additional photos below the main image on the screen's webpage. The bottom edge of the screen covers the opening in the case when the screen is retracted.
