Upgrade your Wrangler JK Unlimited
When you're driving a Jeep, great sound usually takes a backseat to great adventure. But Select Increments JKU-Pods make upgrading to better sound an enticing possibility in your 4-door Jeep Wrangler JK Unlimited with hard or soft top. If you've been suffering with factory sound, these custom enclosures will allow you to fit just about any pair of 6-1/2" or 6-3/4" speakers into the corners of your factory sport cage, even with its padding and cloth cover in place. Each pod features a wire-lead hole to hide speaker wires as they exit the pod and are routed under the roll bar cover.
Ready for the elements
These speaker pods are properly angled for enjoyable listening. You can install coaxial speakers in the precut holes, or cut holes into the tweeter locations for mounting component sets as well. If you have external crossovers, they can be mounted inside the pods. These Select Increments pods give your speakers protection from the elements and include self-tapping screws with Climaseal® finish, black hex caps, rubber grommets for wire holes, and poly-fill. Detailed instructions with photos are included with every pair of pods.
Installation Note: JKU-Pods will not fit any of the 2-door JK Wranglers. Be sure to enter your vehicle information or call an Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to ensure these JKU-Pods are compatible with your Wrangler.

Used in my LJ. Back pokes out a bit in the NX top that i have but its not made for my type of jeep. I can live with it. Put right behind the head rest. Did not use the bottom mounting hole because it was far away from the roll bar. Drilled a hole inside of the pod that put the screw closer to the roll bar. Cut out a little bit of foam from my roll bar to make them fit but I think they came out OK.
Cons: Back pokes out really far. Rubs the NX series of bestops

Bought these awhile back for my 2013 jeep unlimited. I had hopes of them fitting a 7.7 inch speaker. I Through my 6.5 inch ones in. I finally got around to to buying JL audio marine M770 ccx speakers, which are the 7.7 inch ones with the built in crossovers. If you are wanting a 7.7 inch they will fit if you open up the hole. I just used my Dremel and cut notches for the wider parts of the basket and then opened the hole up a little. JL's have a big basket and are deep. They fit fine. Do take care when you cut your hole to angel the wide crossover toward the spot for the tweeter. It is the widest inside. Installing the pods on the Jeep is a little tricky but it's definitely something you can do yourself if you have some basic skills. When the Pod mounts up and you drill in your screws they barely grab the row bar. as long as you hit it they mount pretty secure. Install directions are written well and provide pictures however there in black and white. Go to their web page and they have color photos which makes it a easier. I would buy these again for sure. The other review is spot on! The Do get blocked by the headrest. I just fold the seat down then fold them up and hold the head rest down to it does not lock back in place. Then I take Para cord and just tie them down out of the way. Or you tube jeep head rest hack and there is a video on how to pull the locking spring and zip tie it and tuck it out of sight. put them back to normal pull zip and clip spring

I might adjust this rating later since I have not put the speakers in the pods yet, but I do have them screwed into the rollbar and have dynamat'ed them. I really am giving the reason for the missing star. I don't know why the designers would have the speakers pointing partially downward and also not criss-cross, across the cabin as I've come to read is the best way to point speakers from the rear. They would indeed point right into a rear-seat passenger's ears, but in a downward manner such that the sound is pointed at the lower part of the front seat. Why not have designed them to point level on the front passenger's ear plane? I have yet to hear the how they sound, but I'm going to put very high-end Hertz 165p.3 component speakers in them so I can't imagine that they'd sound bad no matter what direction they're pointed. Once screwed in, they feel sturdy. The plastic is probably 1/8" thick or so in most places but is 3/16 where the tweeter hole would be sawed out, as I have done that. With dynamat in there they feel quite solid and have that thud, vs ping.
Cons: Direction they point. Of course anything is better than the soundbar speakers pointing straight down to the floor where the sound gets absorbed by the dynapad I've installed.

More details on the Select Increments JKU-POD
Installation: JKU-Pods mount to the factory sport cage, over the factory cloth and padding. Each pod has an opening for the wire, which is routed under the roll bar cover. Mounting hardware is included (four self-tapping Climaseal screws with integrated washers and gaskets).
Applications: The JKU-Pods are compatible with 2007 to 2017 JK series 4-Door Jeep Wrangler Unlimited models.
Speakers: The JKU-Pods are designed to fit your 6-3/4" speakers, either full range or component sets. Many 6-1/2" speakers will also fit, but because the diagonal screw hole spacing is a little narrow on many 6-1/2s for the 5.55" opening in the pods, typically a 6-3/4" is a better fit. The opening is pre-cut for the woofer, but not for the tweeter, thus full range speakers or component sets are compatible. Neither Speakers, Wiring, nor Speaker Grills are included.
Tools Required: The following tools may be needed for installation of your JKU-Pod.
- 3/8" Hex-Head driver bit
- Phillips bit
- Exacta knife / razor blade
- Wire cutters / strippers
- Wire terminal crimper
Note: You may need a rotary tool if you have to make the speaker hole slightly larger to fit your desired speaker.

- Max Woofer Frame Diameter: 6.95"
