Last summer I bought my first TV in many years. I'm picky about picture quality, but after doing several side-by-side comparisons, my choice was easy: I bought a 55" LG 4K OLED. A year later I still find myself remarking to anyone within earshot, "Man, that's a great picture!"
One of the stars of LG's 2018 OLED lineup is the 55" OLED55C8PUA. Compared to last year's model, it has more powerful video processing, plus some advanced smart TV conveniences. Oh, and the initial price is about a thousand bucks less than last year's model at launch.
Each and every OLED pixel — actually every sub-pixel — can switch off completely, producing absolute black. So far, OLED is the only screen technology that can pull off this difficult feat, and it's why OLED TVs can deliver such remarkable contrast and black levels. For watching movies in a dark room, LG's OLEDs are just about unbeatable.
The OLED55C8PUA also delivers brilliant colors, covering nearly 100% of the P3 color format used for digital cinema and HDR movies. Colors pop, and thanks to the OLED55C8PUA's impressive peak brightness and advanced anti-glare screen coating, you'll see a vivid picture even in bright rooms. And if you like to watch TV with family or friends, you won't mind giving up the center seat — OLED images maintain exceptional contrast and color even for viewers seated off to the sides.
One of the OLED55C8PUA's key improvements over LG's 2017 models is the new Alpha 9 Intelligent Processor. It reduces noise, and constantly monitors and corrects color and contrast. But its most noticeable improvement relates to motion processing. The OLED55C8PUA gives you the ability to remove judder without adding the artificial-looking "soap opera effect." That's a big deal, in my book. I wish my OLED had that capability.
TV content enhanced with HDR (High Dynamic Range) is getting easier to find all the time. Its expanded picture contrast range adds noticeable visual punch to HDR-enhanced movies and shows streamed from Netflix® and Amazon Instant Video. And virtually every 4K Blu-ray movie has HDR.
The OLED55C8PUA not only supports the required HDR10 format, but also the more sophisticated Dolby Vision™ format, which is a dynamic system that is able to adjust brightness and color levels in response to the video signal on a scene-by-scene basis. LG's Active HDR circuitry analyzes and optimizes HDR10 content scene by scene, bringing it closer to what Dolby Vision achieves.
The '55C8PUA's built-in web apps give you instant access to a nearly limitless selection of entertainment including streamed video from services like Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu. LG's AI ThinQ® intelligent voice control can process hundreds of voice commands. Just speak directly into the Magic Remote's mic to operate the TV as well as a variety of compatible smart devices. This TV is also compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa voice control assistants.
LG's motion-sensing Magic Remote is simple and fun to use. You can point, click, scroll and even speak into the remote to find exactly what you want, searching across apps, movies, TV shows and the web, all at the same time.
Use the Sanus MountFinder™ to see a list of wall-mounts that work with your specific TV.
Easy to set up, although color and contrast needed a bit of adjustment. Sharpest screen image I've ever seen.

Average Customer Review(s):
Great TV with really rich color, really amazed, love it!
Easy to set up, although color and contrast needed a bit of adjustment. Sharpest screen image I've ever seen.
Pros: Crisp image. Easy set up
Cons: Can't think of any (except relatively high cost, which I don't regret paying)
The TV is great. It looks good, and the picture is great. I had some problems sorting out an voice assistant issue on setup. Crutchfield support was wonderful and identified the issue as a Tivo generate voice assist prompt. I was very quickly able to shut it off.
Pros: Great picture. Crutchfield support.
Cons: LG menus can be confusing
Excellent TV! Crutchfield was great to deal with. Easy to set up. I'm totally happy.
Great tv, delivery was timely and great purchase experience from Crutchfield.
Very impressed. Easy to set up. Added Roku and DVD player without a problem. Terrific picture, easy adjustments to color intensities that I like and firmware updates were quick and simple. I don't understand why some people had so much trouble using the controls. Down load the users Manual. I'm 80 years old and not a electronics expert.
Pros: Great picture Ease of use
Cons: None that I have found.
Replacement for older model LG OLED. TV has amazing picture and is super easy to set up. So many different picture options to pick from depending on your room type and personal preferences. If you don't have an external sound system, internal speakers are better than most TVs I've heard.
Pros: Picture quality, Picture Options, Streaming Options, Easy Set Up, Internal Sound
Best picture I've seen. And the updates to the software make life easy as the LG remote can now replace my cable service remote but provides all of the services the cable remote can, such as channel guide. Of course, WiFi ready for streaming, built in Web browser, Wifi device sharing, and more make this an incredible entertainment device. I love it.
Pros: Great picture. Easy to use remote. Many Wifi features.
Paul is a jewel! He is knowledgeable and walked this old man through the many choices of televisions until we together found a perfect fit. That took a lot of patience! The television arrived very quickly in perfect condition. Set up was not a problem and it is working as advertised. I would definitely recommend Crutchfield to anyone and everyone.
Pros: Haven't had this LGOLED55C8PUA long enough to fully check it out but so far everything is great, works as advertised. Packaging was as good as I have ever seen. Picture is great, remote is awesome.
Cons: None to date!
Pros: Picture quality, Best TV remote I have ever used, Great choice of inputs, Fiber optic output is huge for me; The smart features of the TV are solid; Great Wi-Fi reception
The picture quality is really stunning, enchanting even. Initial setup was extremely easy, and the Magic Remote is fun to use. Now that I'm getting into more sophisticated setup options like controlling my set top box, receiver and other devices from the Magic Remote, I see why others have pointed out the need for more LG instructions and guidance. I spent a lot of time searching forums from my phone while navigating menus and options on the TV. For example, I found I needed to tell the TV that my set top box was an ADB, not a Motorola as labeled, for the Magic Remote to control it. And I needed to set up my Denon receiver as both a Home Theater and a Sound Bar on the TV for it to control audio from the receiver. Biggest thing I miss is having a single button to click for Fios On Demand. But now that everything is working together, I love my setup.
Pros: Amazing picture, great interface with extensive options to unify home theater equipment, streaming media, and TV settings all from the TV
Cons: As others have noted, some setup options - including controlling my set top box and receiver - required searching online for guidance. I found answers in forums but LG content was pretty lacking.
Super color, sharpness, & contrast. The built in audio is nice too. Very intuitive setup nice and easy. Check rtings.com for some calibration tips. As always super service from Cruthcfield and in particular my advisor Bryce.
Pros: Awesome TV, Just buy it!
Picture resolution is great, the black is absolute, other colors are fine. Remote is very easy to use. The LG setup and operating instructions are very weak, bordering on terrible; this pertains to both in box and on-line instructions. Out of the box, dark portions of some movies are too dark to see well if your room has any light in it. This will require brightness and possibly contrast adjustment in the settings at some increase in power usage evidently. Blackest blacks isn't so great if other details in picture can't be easily resolved.
Pros: Black really is black, remote great.
Cons: LG setup and operation instructions poor.
This review is my initial impressions of the 55" 2018 LG C8 OLED. Out of the box, the image is impressive. We have a custom entertainment center which required a little reconfiguration from our old 55" Samsung 55UN6000 set so there is still some tweaking going on regarding mounting, but I was able to reuse the flat panel mounting hardware on the set. I recorded many hours of the 2018 Winter Olympics off of satellite in 4K HDR but had not been able to experience the full beauty of the venues and events. Wow! Worth every Gigabyte of HD space. While I'm still getting used to the Magic Remote, I found it is capable of controlling my Dish Hopper 3. I'm still going to be using my Logitech Harmony to control everything, but the TV remote can control an impressive amount of AV hardware.
Pros: Inky blacks, very capable Magic Remote, being able to view the same color quality side-to-side and up-or-down.
Cons: Some film material experiences the "Soap Opera" effect by interpolation of the missing frames. I need to find where to turn this off. Power cord could be a foot longer, but I was able to make it work. Back button sometimes acts like Channel Return instead of Back a menu level.
Will only buy my tech from Crutchfield. This tv specifically, amazing picture quality. Set-up guide was nice, but would like to know more about what each picture/sound option does what. Have had to go back and forth from "insider websites" back to tv to fine-tune. Bottom line, great quality for the price.
Pros: Great picture....
Cons: ....but complicated
LG needs to vastly improve Manuals and set-up instructions.
Amazing TV. Great customer service. Free shipping. I really couldn't ask for much more.
Amazing beautiful picture. The Dolby Vision and the Dolby Atmos Sound makes my LG home Theater System sound even better. The TV came well packaged and was easy to unpack and set up. I found that when I turned off the Energy Saving mode the picture improved dramatically. The Magic Remote is a Plus. I'm very Happy with this purchase and the Crutchfield sales and Tech service reps.
Pros: Beautiful Picture, Everything is Great so far
Cons: No complaints
Easy dealing with Crutchfield, Quick delivery, easy set-up. I highly recommend.
A simply amazing tv set. Gorgeous picture and very good sound quality. I gave it only 4 stars because LG didn't provide a printed user manual and instead requires you to negotiate the maze of info contained in the onscreen user manual and settings area. I also had some lip sync problems but was able to eliminate them by using the lip sync correction in the sound settings. However, there doesn't seem to be any consistency to the results. Sometimes I still have the problem and sometimes I don't. The sets linearity leaves a little bit to be desired too. It's probably within their parameters but not mine. I expected more from LG in that regard and didn't get it. There's no excuse for not getting the linearity perfect with the equipment available today. Notwithstanding the above negative comments, the LG OLED 55C 8PUA is well worth the sale price. Overall, it's an excellent tv.
Pros: Gorgeous picture and very good sound. You can do some amazing things with it.
Cons: Lip sync and linearity problems that may or may not be permanently fixable.
Great business with good people.
Can't go wrong with this TV! Out of the box glory with out the need for calibration..
Pros: 5 stars
I don't know how I've lived without an OLED!
Pros: Eye popping and detail
Cons: I don't want to leave the couch.
The TV came well packaged and was easy to unpackage and set up. It arrived as advertised in three days. The picture quality is exceptional. Much better than my current Samsung TV. I am still learning how to use all of the features.
Great picture and color. TV was easy to set up and program.
Absolutely beautiful picture. And it weighs so much less than my old set. Plus the picture is larger (55") but the screen is the same size as the old set so it fits in the same space. My son was able to install it by himself...no wait time between TV's. I wasn't sure about changing brands but I couldn't be happier with this LG It was the best choice.
Very good picture, very crisp. Sound quality is actually better than most TV's
Pros: Excellent picture, decent sound for a TV
Cons: Short power cord
Great set, great viewing angle, great color and great price.
Nice tv would recommend to everyone! The clarity is unreal. Talking head don't look as young as old plasmas tv.
Pros: Great pic connects to wireless head phones
The picture is awesome, however, plan on spending a little time to dial it completely in it is well worth th effort! I cannot comment on sound since i use my DENON receiver for all audio.
Pros: Picture, flexability in adjustments.
Great picture. The installation team did a good job. Took the time to explain the items we purchased and did a very neat job
This TV is amazing. Although hardly any satellite content is 4k yet, watching ultra HD blu-rays and online content is outstanding. Best picture I have seen yet.
Great Picture--Decent Price. Always a pleasure to do business with Crutchfield.
Pros: Great Picture. Easy to set up.
Never purchased an L,G, product before . However, after speaking with a Crutch field professional Service Rep, I was surprised , after comparison with my original choice with Sam Sung flat screen T.V. that I had purchased from Crutch field around 9 years ago. The L.G. picture and sound qualities were (in my opinion) by far superior to a Sam Sung T.V. product. Both myself and my wife are content with our L.G. purchase. We thank Crutch Field for their professional advice.
Pros: Superior picture and sound quality. Price comparable to features offered.
Cons: For the price paid, much to much plastic construction of the 55 inch flat screen television. T.V. connections and remote controls not compatible with our Direct T.V. service.
Purchased a new LG OLED55CPUA -( 10-1-2018 ) .I waited until now to do a review. I spend several months and many calls to the sales guy's , they were very helpful explaining the price protection, ( Which I've already used ) .The free quick Delivery process ( Was on time & no delays). And would my Directv Box ,remote along with my ZVOX sound bar inter grate with the LG LED 55. The sales process gets 5 stars . Please note Note Their was some setup issues with cabling routing & Power cord length. a LG issue as far as I'm concerned. On the last 8 Flat screen TV's I've installed . The power cable was attached at the rear center or Left rear , close to the Inputs & output panel. They had 7' of length and could be easily bundled with other cabling , to be run down through a chase-way of a surface wall mounted or recess into the wall. So years ago I had the hidden tube & Chase-way left side positioned . Worked great and was well hidden and cleaned up the install with NO cable length issues .Now The new OLED LG 55 issue! They put the power cable . They put the power cable 18" to the right of center. Now you have loss 18" of your 60" ( 5") Power cord / cable. And if you want to do a left side cable to a hidden chase-way run . The Plug end ends inside of the wall / Tube. NOT GOOD LG. I called Crutchfield tech , Explained what was changed . I asked for a longer Power cable . I was told it was not available and to use an extension cord. CONTINUED IN CONS. and pictures shown
Pros: If you watch TCM old black & white . This is the best I've ever seen. Color detail is fantastic. I'm impressed , but letting the electronics burn in and stabilize before I ISF tune. The motion blur or shadows are still there. but very minimal . not as good as my old Pioneer Plasma. To be truthful , for the dollar this TV can't be bettered.
Cons: The power cord enters through a small panel. that looks like it is not a serviceable part. In a Bright sun lighted room expect to still see glares. LG get 3.5 Stars for setup issues. The assistant helper talk was to fast for out of the box setup . had to slow it down.
This is my first non-Sony tv ever. With money being tight since retirement, I simply couldn't rationalize spending all the extra money for a Sony, so I checked all the info I could find and chose this LG. I must admit to being apprehensive, but was totally relieved when I realized the outcome. The setup and initial adjustments were a total breeze and the picture quality simply could not be better. Plugged into my surround sound system (which also came from Crutchfield), watching tv is now a completely new experience. It's like being in the theater but better. I'm totally engulfed in a sensory explosion and it's truly exhilarating. Thank you Crutchfield, for adding a whole new facet to my life. I could not be happier. I guess I am now a Crutchfield and an LG customer for life.
You had to adjust the settings to get a good picture . This took a little bit of time . Now I have a great picture .
Pros: Great picture
Cons: But you had to adjust settings to get that great picture .
First off, I had to give only 4 stars only because I could not take advantage of the 4K video due to my cable operator feeding a lesser signal for live TV as well as streaming. That being said, the video was at least as good as my old model LED if not somewhat better. The old set died otherwise I would have waited. Setup of the stand was a bit wonky as the pictures in the manual did not do a good job of presenting how the stand should be mounted onto the set. After staring at the pieces for a while it became clear. One thing you want to avoid is improper stand setup resulting in a fallen set. Audio was fine but is now turned off because I am using my home theater for that purpose. And don't believe what is said in the product description that you cannot attach external sources as I was able to attach a 20+ year old DVD player via the RCA cable adapter included with the set. Just waiting for my cable operator to step up with the 4K signal.
Pros: Easy menu navigation
Cons: Stand setup
great picture with smart intuitive features
We have only had the unit for a few days. So far I love it. Picture is awesome. Setup was easy. It will take me a while to learn all the offerings this tv has.. Great unit so far!
Pros: good look, easy setup, great picture
Great picture and wonderful sound!
Gorgeous piece of technology. Picture is amazing. Only gripe (and it's a small one) is the remote/cursor used for set up and adjusting - wildest mouse I've ever used.
One of the best TV's that I have seen . The picture quality is outstanding and when coupled with a surround sound system you would think that you were in a movie theater . I would but it again and from Crutchfield of course !!!
Cons: No cons !!!
This TV takes alot of adjusting to get the picture just right. So unless you are willing to invest time into research online and youtube for settings help, don't buy this TV. Also motion in sports is a little blurry and the picture from 1080p content is better on my old plasma TV. 4K content looks absolutely perfect on this TV once you dial in the settings.

OLED TV: "OLED" means organic light-emitting diode, named for the advanced material used in the TV's screen. The secret to OLED is this unique light-emitting diode structure with its electroluminescent layer, a special film made from an organic, carbon-based compound that emits its own light when hit with an electric current. A thin-film transistor (TFT) backplane switches each specific pixel on and off. This configuration enables a thinner, lighter form factor, higher resolution and big, home theater-ready screen sizes. Because OLED TVs do not require a backlight, pixels that are switched off are truly black, so OLED achieves deeper black levels and a higher contrast ratio when compared to LCD and LED-LCD TVs with conventional backlighting. OLED technology also increases energy efficiency.
α (Alpha) 9 Intelligent Processor: LG, the industry leaders of OLED TVs, made their OLED televisions even better by developing the α (Alpha) 9 Intelligent Processor. LG's most powerful processor ever provides true-to-life images with incredibly rich colors, sharpness and depth to deliver the ultimate picture quality with more realism. As a result of the new image processor, 2018 LG OLED TVs can display any content at maximum quality for a truly spectacular viewing experience
4K Cinema HDR w/ Enhanced Dynamic Tone Mapping: LG's 4K Cinema HDR supports a variety of HDR formats - including Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR by Technicolor, as well as Active HDR10 & HLG. Thanks to the TV's Active HDR technology with Enhanced Dynamic Tone Mapping and SDR-to-HDR Effect, both HDR and SDR video content is optimized with the correct amount of brightness and contrast, so all types of HDR & SDR content can be displayed beautifully. HDR (High Dynamic Range video) reproduces a greater dynamic range of luminosity or brightness levels, bringing greater contrast & wider color spectrum to the screen. This increased contrast reveals the subtle nuances of the image, from detailed blacks and shadows to the brightest whites and colors, plus greater depth. Previously hidden areas of dark shadow and sunlight are now full of clarity and detail.
Ultra HD 4K Resolution w/ Upscaler: The LG OLED TV has a display resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 (4K) and will display all video at that resolution through its built-in upscaler, regardless of input signal. 4K provides four times higher resolution than current 1080p high-definition TVs with a total of 8.3 million pixels. Its detail is so vivid and crisp, even when viewed from close distances; it's nearly impossible to discern a single pixel, even from inches away. Enjoy incredibly flawless images, vivid colors, and picture details as never before. More benefits of Ultra-HD 4K include:
Video Inputs: The LG OLED television features HDMI 2.0b and Composite video inputs. All of the television's video inputs are displayed at 3,840 x 2,160 (4K).
Picture Settings: The LG OLED TV provides preset, user, and expert adjustment of the television's picture settings.
Live Zoom: LG's Live Zoom allows you to zoom in or zoom out on a portion of a video while it's being played to make the desired section appear larger or smaller. Live Zoom is only available on the TV's over-the-air tuner and HDMI inputs.
Built-in OTA Tuner: The LG TV features a built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and Clear QAM tuner, so you don't need a separate set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted Digital Cable signals (up to 1080i); subscription still required to receive cable channels. A single RF-type coaxial input is use to connect an external indoor/outdoor antenna (sold separately).
Dolby Atmos Support: This LG OLED TV currently supports Dolby Atmos playback via Dolby Digital Plus through Internet streaming apps (like Netflix & Vudu), over-the-air/cable broadcast, and USB. Dolby Atmos playback delivered via Dolby TrueHD through Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray is also supported over a non-ARC HDMI input.
Magic Sound Tuning: With the Magic Sound Tuning feature, you can detect the space where your TV is installed using your Magic Remote's microphone to optimize the audio of your TV for your environment. When the initial detection is complete, you can select your desired audio mode.
Ultra-Surround Sound + Equalizer: Ultra Surround delivers an immersive audio experience from seven virtual channels, requiring only the two built-in speakers of the TV. The TV also provides preset EQ modes. Choose from Smart Sound, Standard, Clear Voice III, Cinema, Sports, Music, or Game. In addition, you can adjust the TV's sound manually by using the 5-band EQ (100Hz, 300Hz, 1khz, 3khz, 10kHz). Clear Voice III automatically detects human voices in movies and TV shows, then increases their volume to ensure that the dialog doesn't get lost in the soundtrack. You can make the voice clearer by adjusting to one of the three clarity levels.
Sound Controls: Adaptive Sound Control automatically optimizes sound based on the type of content. You can also set the TV's volume to automatically adjust for different broadcasting stations, so you can always listen to channels at the desired volume, even after switching the channels. In addition, if the video and sound of the television are not synced, you can adjust the delay of the audio output to match the video. All three of these features are only available when using the TV's internal speakers.
ARC (Audio Return Channel): The Audio Return Channel of the TV's HDMI 2 input enables the television, via a single HDMI cable, to send audio data "upstream" to your AV receiver; increasing user flexibility and eliminating the need for any separate S/PDIF audio connection. This feature allows audio to be sent from the television to your AV receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio/video to the television. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to the TV. ARC allows audio from the TV tuner, Network connection, inserted USB device, HDMI inputs, or any analog connected device to be heard through your ARC compatible AV receiver via the television's HDMI ARC input.
Note: Both the television and the receiver must support ARC for this function to work properly. When connecting an AV receiver that is compatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), connect it to the TV's HDMI 2 input. If connecting a system that is incompatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), an additional audio connection via Digital Audio Out (Optical) is necessary.
Digital Audio Output: The optical digital output terminal will output Dolby Digital/DTS (when available) or 2 channel PCM. The digital optical output terminal only sends an audio signal in Dolby Digital/DTS when receiving Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound from a digital broadcast channel through the tuner, network apps, HDMI inputs, and USB ports on the TV. The optical digital audio output will only output in 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via stereo RCA.
Note: You can choose to turn the television speakers off or leave them on with the TV's optical digital output active.
Bluetooth Audio Streaming (LG Sound Sync): Thanks to the TV's LG Sound Sync and built-in Bluetooth 4.2, you can pair a single set of Bluetooth headphones, one Bluetooth speaker, or a pair of Bluetooth speakers with the LG OLED TV. You are able to stream audio from any of the TV's built-in sources or connected sources. The TV's built-in speakers and audio outputs will be deactivated when streaming audio to Bluetooth headphones or speaker. The Bluetooth audio output's volume is variable, so volume of your Bluetooth speaker will need to be controlled by both the TV and the Bluetooth speaker for adequate volume level. You can also wirelessly connect a Bluetooth source device (such as your smartphone or tablet) to play audio from your Bluetooth source device through the TV's speakers.
Note: Not guaranteed to be compatible with all Bluetooth devices.
Wired or Wireless Network Connection: The LG OLED TV supports a wired or wireless network connection via its Ethernet jack or built-in WiFi. Via the TV's network connection and your internet provider, you can enjoy select online entertainment services. You can also access music, video, and still-image files stored on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. It even supports WiFi Direct, so you link wirelessly to a WiFi device without a router.
Note: LG recommends a home network connection speed of at least 2.5 Mbps recommended for standard definition, 10 Mbps for high definition, and 20 Mbps for ultra-high definition.
LG Content Store: LG Content Store allows you to access a variety of online entertainment services and content directly on the LG TV through its network connection and your internet provider. You can quickly and conveniently browse for TV Shows, Movies, and more. You can also download and use apps from various categories such as entertainment, lifestyle, news, education, sports, and games. Click here for the latest compatible apps (subscriptions & fees may apply for some online services and content). Below is a list of some of the most popular apps from LG Smart TV Apps.
Note: 4K & HDR network streaming requires a network speed of 20Mbps or greater. A wired Ethernet connection is recommended over a wireless WiFi connection for better performance. If you desire a WiFi connection, then use a dual-band Gigabit wireless-N router or better for 4K/HDR streaming.
DLNA + Plex Content Sharing: DLNA & Plex compatibility lets you stream select video, photo, and audio files stored on your computer to the LG TV over your home's WiFi network. DLNA is supported by Windows (7, 8, 8.1, or 10) and other DLNA network devices and servers. You will also need to download the SmartShare software on your compatible Windows PC. Plex Media Server software is supported by Windows (7, 8, 8.1, or 10) and Mac (OSX 10.9 or newer).
Screen Sharing via Miracast: Miracast is a "screen mirroring" function which lets you wirelessly send the display from your compatible Windows 8.1+ or Android 4.2+ device (with support for Miracast) to the LG TV. This allows you to view practically any content that is playing on your compatible Windows or Android device on your TV screen; no wireless router or access point required.
Triple USB Ports: The television features three USB (type-A) 2.0 ports for playback of video, still image, and music files stored on a connected USB memory device. The television can support USB external hard disc drives (up to 2TB) and USB mass storage class devices (up to 32GB). The USB storage devices must be formatted as FAT 32 or NTFS file system. In addition, the TV will charge USB devices that can be charged via USB (max. 5V/0.5A). The LG television even lets you watch a slideshow of your photos (JPEG) while listening to background music (MP3) from an inserted USB device.
Web Browser: The LG Smart TV features a built-in web browser that lets you search the Internet for a particular website by URL or keyword searches. The web browser supports only HTML5 media and not Flash Plug-in. The web browser only replays the following media file formats - JPEG/PNG/GIF. Not all websites will be available for download, because of size and content.
Magic Remote: LG's Magic Remote acts as a remote controller, mouse pointer, and voice commander. The Magic Remote automatically pairs with the TV via Bluetooth and has a wireless operating range up to 32.8'.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) ThinQ w/ Voice Control: The LG TV goes a step further than basic voice control commands with the integration of AI (Artificial Intelligence) ThinQ. AI ThinQ is able to achieve intelligent voice-activated control by employing Natural Language Processing (NLP) and LG's exclusive deep learning platform (Deep ThinQ). The LG TV with AI ThinQ can process hundreds of voice commands. You are able speak directly into the Magic Remote's mic to enjoy the ultra-convenient features of the latest advanced voice assistant technology with deep learning capability. AI ThinQ lets you use your voice to control television functions, search for content, and even manage your connected smart home devices.
Note: The TV will need to be connected to your home's network and internet provider for the AI (Artificial Intelligence) ThinQ feature to work.
LG TV Plus App: You can download the LG TV Plus app (for Android OS 4.2+ & Apple iOS 8.0+) onto your compatible Apple iOS or Android OS device in order to control the television from your smartphone or tablet, share content from your mobile device to the TV, and other convenient features. The LG TV and your Android or Apple iOS device must be connected to the same WiFi network.
HDMI-CEC: HDMI-CEC (or SIMPLINK) allows you to control other HDMI-CEC compatible components connected to the TV via HDMI from the television's Magic Remote. HDMI-CEC (or SIMPLINK) provides the following remote control functions.
Control4 Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP) Technology: The LG OLED TV features Control4 Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP) technology. Control4 Corporation is a leading provider of automation and control solutions for the connected home. Products like flat-panel TVs, projectors, audio/video receivers, security cameras, alarm panels, and other network-aware products can be easily integrated into a consumer's smart and connected home via Control4 technology. With SDDP, the Control4 home automation system automatically finds, identifies, authenticates, adds and connects the SDDP-enabled devices nearly instantaneously during initial installation and set-up; dramatically reducing the complexity and configuration time for Control4 installers, and reducing potential incompatibility with other devices.

The first time I saw one, I wanted one. After 2 months of research and shopping, I always came back to LG OLED. It was just seemed more likely to make me happy in the long run as I am fairly picky. My wife wouldn't let me spend less unless I could convince her I would like it. I couldn't find a better picture for more. [ Dennis Dec 14, 2018 ]

The price-performance has reached the "affordable" range, the reviews from around the net have been extremely positive, and even CR gives it their highest marks. [ Roland Dec 06, 2018 ]
I have been impressed with the LG OLED TV's since they came out. The reviews on them and been very good. While most TV's are coming with all sorts of add on features for me a TV is all about the picture. All the LG OLED TV's I've viewed have had great pictures. Why did I buy this model? After using a Crutchfield advisor I found out this model had the most up to date processor. [ G Nov 30, 2018 ]
