Last summer I bought my first TV in many years. I'm picky about picture quality, but after doing several side-by-side comparisons, my choice was easy: I took home an LG 4K OLED. Every time I turn it on I'm knocked out by the picture. Now that I've had a chance to play with some 2018 models, I'm even more impressed by LG's ability to keep improving their best TVs.
The 65" OLED65B8PUA is LG's lowest-priced OLED TV for 2018. Compared to last year's model, it adds some advanced smart TV conveniences. And the initial price is a lot lower than last year's model at launch.
One of the big differences between OLED and LED-LCD TVs is that OLEDs don't require a backlight. An LED-LCD TV's backlight determines how bright, how dark, and how accurately it conveys picture contrast. The best of these TVs might have several hundred independently controllable "zones" of illumination.
By comparison, OLED's pixel-level dimming enables each of the panel's 8.3 million pixels to brighten, dim, or power off completely, displaying exceptional picture detail, contrast, and depth. For watching movies in a dark room, LG's OLEDs are just about unbeatable.
The OLED65B8PUA also delivers brilliant colors, covering nearly 100% of the P3 color format used for digital cinema and HDR movies. Colors pop, and thanks to the OLED65B8PUA's impressive peak brightness and advanced anti-glare screen coating, you'll see a vivid picture even in bright rooms. And if you like to watch TV with family or friends, you won't mind giving up the center seat — OLED images maintain crisp contrast and color even for viewers seated off to the sides.
TV content enhanced with HDR (High Dynamic Range) is getting easier to find all the time. Its expanded picture contrast range adds noticeable visual punch to HDR-enhanced movies and shows streamed from Netflix® and Amazon Instant Video. And virtually every 4K Blu-ray movie has HDR.
The OLED65B8PUA not only supports the required HDR 10 format, but also the more sophisticated Dolby Vision™ format, which is a dynamic system that is able to adjust brightness and color levels in response to the video signal on a scene-by-scene basis.
The '65B8PUA's built-in web apps give you instant access to a nearly limitless selection of entertainment including streamed video from services like Netflix, YouTube, and Hulu. LG's AI ThinQ® intelligent voice control can process hundreds of voice commands. Just speak directly into the Magic Remote's mic to operate the TV as well as a variety of compatible smart devices. This TV is also compatible with Google Home and Amazon Alexa voice control assistants.
LG's motion-sensing Magic Remote is simple and fun to use. You can point, click, scroll and even speak into the remote to find exactly what you want, searching across apps, movies, TV shows and the web, all at the same time.
Use the Sanus MountFinder™ to see a list of wall-mounts that work with your specific TV.
I can't tell you how happy I am, not only with my careful selection of this product, but of the overall customer service experience with crutchfield.. thank you!!

Average Customer Review(s):
In one word, perfect.
Love this TV! Nothing beats OLED! And bigger only makes it better. We loved the 55 inch that we had in the C8, so once the super bowl came... I had to go bigger and get the 65 inch B8! It is stunning and so impressive. The TV can do so much when it comes to functioning as a smart tv in our smart home. Paired with the lg sk10y soundbar... I'm in heaven. Crutchfield is great! Offered a great price, support and two day delivery! Thank you!
Pros: Picture, tv profile, speed, Dolby, apps, remote, everything. Best tv
Sleek/efficient design that fit into the same space as my old 55" TV with 65" of display - excellent! Picture quality is a knockout - I am very happy.
The picture is fantastic. Even the older classics look better and make the movie more enjoyable.
Pros: Lightweight. Easy to set up and connect with the helpful prompts.
Cons: Nothing yet.
Excellent picture, with perfect colors, surprisingly good sound. Easy for two people to unbox and set up. Large enough to appreciate cinematographic aims and achievements of filmmakers. No visible latency, stuttering, drop-outs, etc. when streaming, playing from USB stick or bluray. The legendary OLED blacks are totally black. Great fun!!! With more 4k sources arriving or on the horizon, the presentation will only improve into the near future.
Pros: Picture quality, light weight for its size, attractive presence. Many helpful menu features for initial setup and ongoing changes in connected equipment. Very good picture even for yellow, red, white cables if using older equipment, spectacular with HDMI. Plays very well from USB stick also.
Cons: LG engineers have not yet provided codes for Uverse Motorola and other brand set top boxes. Therefore, is still necessary to use multiple remotes.
The only negative was I bought a Klipsch sound bar and couldn't program the LG remote to operate the volume controls on the sound bar. Had I been advised of this I probably would have gotten an LG sound bar.
Pros: Great TV!
I can't tell you how happy I am, not only with my careful selection of this product, but of the overall customer service experience with crutchfield.. thank you!!
Pros: Picture, sound quality.
Fantastic TV! We upgraded from a 14 year old Panasonic plasma (which I loved) and the change is startling. The TV is much lighter (50 vs 125 lbs) which made unpacking and wall mounting the unit much easier. The picture is breathtaking, with vivid colors, incredibly deep blacks and amazing clarity. I also thought that setup and use are incredibly easy, the menus are very clearly laid out. I love the magic remote that comes with the TV so much, that I returned reluctantly to a well loved Harmony Hub used to control our home theater. Extremely happy with the purchase!
Pros: Fantastic picture Very thin All of the footprint is screen, no wasted space Setup quick and easy
Cons: Honestly, none
Picture is incredible and the blacks are unbelievable.
Pros: phenomenal picture and black blacks
Cons: Extremely short Power cable for wall mounting. Pawer cable is not easy to remove for fishing through the wall and the power cable is all the way on the end of the tv and not near any of the other cables and not near the center of the tv. Makes for a difficult wall mount install without an extension cord, power cable also has no ground prong.
Easy setup, great picture, and much smarter than older "smart" TVs I have owned. Apps load much more quickly and we get fewer "loading" delays (as in none so far) with same internet speed (75 Mbps). Remote is intuitive and easy to learn. Kids were particularly adept at using it right out of the box. A little tricky unpacking and moving due to large and thin screen. Not using TV sound, but using optical out to stereo speakers and subwoofer. Looking forward to more 4K content!
Pros: Easy setup Excellent picture Intuitive remote Responsive smart apps Price and Crutchfield Clear physical setup directions
Cons: Awkward handling and unpackaging (unavoidable)
Great picture, good value
All I thought it would be.
Awesome picture and sound.
I'm completely satisfied with the purchase of the B8 65 inch. Very thin and the lg software works very well and fluid!! Great price on black Friday sale!
Pros: Thin, high quality tv, great software and apps
Cons: None so far
I am very happy with this tv. The picture, once properly adjusted, is absolutely stunning. The built-in sound is only adequate, but that is all I expected it to be. I will listen to the tv mostly through my surround sound system. Crutchfield's service was excellent. I shopped this tv very carefully, and Crutchfield's price, especially on Black Friday, was very competitive. The set can be purchased a little cheaper elsewhere online, but the lowest price I could find was from a seller who allowed no returns (even if it arrives broken). I am paranoid about dead and stuck pixels, and have discovered that most walk-in stores and online retailers have tightened there policies about returning tvs with such a problem. Most will only give a refund or an exchange if more than 3 pixels are dead or stuck. Crutchfield's "no questions asked" return period, even with the re-stocking charge, is the best protection against a "dead-on-arrival" pixel that I could find. The shipping was great. The box showed little signs of shipping stress, and the set arrived in good condition. I purchased the OLED65B8PUA, rather than the "C" model, because it was $200 cheaper, and a "leading consumer magazine" could detect no difference whatsoever in the picture or sound quality, even though the latter model boasts a supposedly "more powerful" video processor. One final note. The aforementioned magazine provides and online guide for adjusting the picture. It works, most especially turning off the power
Pros: Gorgeous Picture
Cons: Fair built-in sound. Remote is a little eccentric, but I'll give it a try and see if I get used to it.
The LG OLED65B8PUA is an excellent television. The color and the sound is the best ever.
This tv definitely lives up to the hype of OLED. I'm coming from a Panasonic plasma and this blows that tv away in every way. The service from Crutchfield was first rate as always!
I replaced an older Vizio tv with the LG B8 and couldn't be happier. I did a lot of research and was considering the Samsung and Sony 4k tv's but decided to spend a little extra for the LG B8. Unboxing and set-up was straightforward. Ok, using the remote took a little getting used to but now it's easy. I did refer to several articles and videos for the best calibration settings (and what some of the features actually did) and the picture looks great. The sound can't compare to a soundbar or sound system but it's much better than our previous tv. Coming back to the picture, blacks are truly black and the clarity is outstanding and I have the tv in a bright room with 6 french doors. Accessing the apps is easy and you can remove the ones you're not using and easily add them when you want. There are so many features to explore that I haven't gotten to them all yet. A great example is the zoom feature which works really well. I'm looking forward to getting true 4k content to see how this looks but you can get an idea with the photo galleries pre-loaded with the tv. All in all, a great tv that you'll be happy with.
Pros: Easy to set-up Truly beautiful picture in a bright room Sound is better than expected Not too hard to calibrate - lots of helpful articles and videos available
Cons: None really - the remote just takes getting used to
Absolutely beautiful TV! I upgraded to the B8P from a 2016 55C6P, and its definitely worth the upgrade. The panel itself is super thin, which is almost as thin as the W (wallpaper series) except for the bottom for speakers and components. I do miss the 3D from the 2016 version, but the picture quality, colors and brightness seems to be improved and worthy of the upgrade. As far as the speakers, I have not tested those as I only use surround sound for all my audio needs. My only slight complaints may be the build quality, which may be more of me just nitpicking. Whenever moving the TV onto my stand, I noticed the bottom plastic area over the speakers seemed to be bend in a tad and the screen itself leans back some, pointing up slightly toward the ceiling. Both of these issues are most likely to make the TV lighter than older generations and TVs, while the leaning is from the TV being bottom heavy due to the speakers and components. As said before, these are really not anything to be concerned about. The B8P uses last year's processing chip, while the C8P and up uses the new A9 chip and supposedly handles motion better and offers a slightly better picture overall. Reviewers compared the two and said the differences were minimal, which persuaded me to go along with the B8 over the C8. If you're looking to upgrade from a 2017 to 2018, I would recommend getting a C8 or higher to get your moneys worth and picture upgrade.
Pros: Picture Quality, Price, Perfect Blacks, Dolby Vision
Cons: Build quality
This is the TV to buy if your first priority is picture quality. It's simply gorgeous. It has a lot of other little quirks though, and why it only gets 4 stars from me: Firstly, WebOS is weird. The remote works more like a mouse from a computer - you move a cursor on the screen. While it is somewhat intuitive having never used a remote of that kind before, I would prefer a more traditional control method. During setup of the TV after the first power on, the TV / WebOS would not move forward without me inputting a zip code. As I personally had no intention of using the TV as anything but a display for my Roku box, I found it irritating I could not skip this part. That leads me to the next bit, which i knew going in - compared to the channel / application lineup available in a Roku Box or TV, WebOS is quite limited in scope - it certainly has the most popular options like Netflix and Hulu, but was lacking an application capable of connecting to my Synology DiskStation media server - which is available on virtually every other platform. Secondly, The overall design of the TV itself is incredibly unwieldy - the combination of its large screen size and super thin top 2/3rds makes it hard to handle - it really should have been thicker the whole way, so there could be places to actually hold onto it. Not having a removable power cable or a restraint for it other than the packing tape was also a bad design choice in my opinion. They also put the power/menu button on
Pros: Amazing Picture Quality Amazingly Bright Brights Amazingly Dark Darks Amazingly Bright Brights while next to Amazingly Dark Darks! HDR For Real! Amazing Picture Quality, Really. (Far better than standard panels, and noticeably better than QLED too. OLED technology is amazing.) Did i mention the picture is amazing? Because it is.
Cons: See Above. WebOS - Limited Smart TV Application/Channel Selection Power and Menu Button is on the rear - this works well depending on how the TV is mounted, it may be very problematic depending on installation. In My case, I have to swivel the TV out of the way while using it. Handling this monstrosity is a nightmare - two people required for setup, period.

OLED TV: "OLED" means organic light-emitting diode, named for the advanced material used in the TV's screen. The secret to OLED is this unique light-emitting diode structure with its electroluminescent layer, a special film made from an organic, carbon-based compound that emits its own light when hit with an electric current. A thin-film transistor (TFT) backplane switches each specific pixel on and off. This configuration enables a thinner, lighter form factor, higher resolution and big, home theater-ready screen sizes. Because OLED TVs do not require a backlight, pixels that are switched off are truly black, so OLED achieves deeper black levels and a higher contrast ratio when compared to LCD and LED-LCD TVs with conventional backlighting. OLED technology also increases energy efficiency.
α (Alpha) 7 Intelligent Processor: The LG LED TV is powered by LG's powerful α (Alpha) 7 Intelligent Processor for superior picture quality. The α (Alpha) 7 Intelligent Processor offers a host of technological advantages including deeper blacks, enhanced image rendering, improved shadow details, and accurate color from wide viewing angles.
4K Cinema HDR w/ Advanced Tone Mapping: LG's 4K Cinema HDR supports a variety of HDR formats - including Dolby Vision, Advanced HDR by Technicolor, as well as Active HDR10 & HLG. Thanks to the TV's Active HDR technology with Advanced Tone Mapping and SDR-to-HDR Effect, both HDR and SDR video content is optimized with the correct amount of brightness and contrast, so all types of HDR & SDR content can be displayed beautifully. HDR (High Dynamic Range video) reproduces a greater dynamic range of luminosity or brightness levels, bringing greater contrast & wider color spectrum to the screen. This increased contrast reveals the subtle nuances of the image, from detailed blacks and shadows to the brightest whites and colors, plus greater depth. Previously hidden areas of dark shadow and sunlight are now full of clarity and detail.
Ultra HD 4K Resolution w/ Upscaler: The LG OLED TV has a display resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 (4K) and will display all video at that resolution through its built-in upscaler, regardless of input signal. 4K provides four times higher resolution than current 1080p high-definition TVs with a total of 8.3 million pixels. Its detail is so vivid and crisp, even when viewed from close distances; it's nearly impossible to discern a single pixel, even from inches away. Enjoy incredibly flawless images, vivid colors, and picture details as never before. More benefits of Ultra-HD 4K include:
Video Inputs: The LG OLED television features HDMI 2.0b and Composite video inputs. All of the television's video inputs are displayed at 3,840 x 2,160 (4K).
Picture Settings: The LG OLED TV provides preset, user, and expert adjustment of the television's picture settings.
Live Zoom: LG's Live Zoom allows you to zoom in or zoom out on a portion of a video while it's being played to make the desired section appear larger or smaller. Live Zoom is only available on the TV's over-the-air tuner and HDMI inputs.
Built-in OTA Tuner: The LG TV features a built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and Clear QAM tuner, so you don't need a separate set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted Digital Cable signals (up to 1080i); subscription still required to receive cable channels. A single RF-type coaxial input is use to connect an external indoor/outdoor antenna (sold separately).
Dolby Atmos Support: This LG OLED TV currently supports Dolby Atmos playback via Dolby Digital Plus through Internet streaming apps (like Netflix & Vudu), over-the-air/cable broadcast, and USB. Dolby Atmos playback delivered via Dolby TrueHD through Blu-ray & Ultra HD Blu-ray is also supported over a non-ARC HDMI input.
Magic Sound Tuning: With the Magic Sound Tuning feature, you can detect the space where your TV is installed using your Magic Remote's microphone to optimize the audio of your TV for your environment. When the initial detection is complete, you can select your desired audio mode.
Ultra-Surround Sound + Equalizer: Ultra Surround delivers an immersive audio experience from seven virtual channels, requiring only the two built-in speakers of the TV. The TV also provides preset EQ modes. Choose from Smart Sound, Standard, Clear Voice III, Cinema, Sports, Music, or Game. In addition, you can adjust the TV's sound manually by using the 5-band EQ (100Hz, 300Hz, 1khz, 3khz, 10kHz). Clear Voice III automatically detects human voices in movies and TV shows, then increases their volume to ensure that the dialog doesn't get lost in the soundtrack. You can make the voice clearer by adjusting to one of the three clarity levels.
Sound Controls: Adaptive Sound Control automatically optimizes sound based on the type of content. You can also set the TV's volume to automatically adjust for different broadcasting stations, so you can always listen to channels at the desired volume, even after switching the channels. In addition, if the video and sound of the television are not synced, you can adjust the delay of the audio output to match the video. All three of these features are only available when using the TV's internal speakers.
ARC (Audio Return Channel): The Audio Return Channel of the TV's HDMI 2 input enables the television, via a single HDMI cable, to send audio data "upstream" to your AV receiver; increasing user flexibility and eliminating the need for any separate S/PDIF audio connection. This feature allows audio to be sent from the television to your AV receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio/video to the television. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to the TV. ARC allows audio from the TV tuner, Network connection, inserted USB device, HDMI inputs, or any analog connected device to be heard through your ARC compatible AV receiver via the television's HDMI ARC input.
Note: Both the television and the receiver must support ARC for this function to work properly. When connecting an AV receiver that is compatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), connect it to the TV's HDMI 2 input. If connecting a system that is incompatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), an additional audio connection via Digital Audio Out (Optical) is necessary.
Digital Audio Output: The optical digital output terminal will output Dolby Digital/DTS (when available) or 2 channel PCM. The digital optical output terminal only sends an audio signal in Dolby Digital/DTS when receiving Dolby Digital/DTS surround sound from a digital broadcast channel through the tuner, network apps, HDMI inputs, and USB ports on the TV. The optical digital audio output will only output in 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via stereo RCA.
Note: You can choose to turn the television speakers off or leave them on with the TV's optical digital output active.
Bluetooth Audio Streaming (LG Sound Sync): Thanks to the TV's LG Sound Sync and built-in Bluetooth 4.2, you can pair a single set of Bluetooth headphones, one Bluetooth speaker, or a pair of Bluetooth speakers with the LG OLED TV. You are able to stream audio from any of the TV's built-in sources or connected sources. The TV's built-in speakers and audio outputs will be deactivated when streaming audio to Bluetooth headphones or speaker. The Bluetooth audio output's volume is variable, so volume of your Bluetooth speaker will need to be controlled by both the TV and the Bluetooth speaker for adequate volume level. You can also wirelessly connect a Bluetooth source device (such as your smartphone or tablet) to play audio from your Bluetooth source device through the TV's speakers.
Note: Not guaranteed to be compatible with all Bluetooth devices.
Wired or Wireless Network Connection: The LG OLED TV supports a wired or wireless network connection via its Ethernet jack or built-in WiFi. Via the TV's network connection and your internet provider, you can enjoy select online entertainment services. You can also access music, video, and still-image files stored on your computer, smartphone, or tablet. It even supports WiFi Direct, so you link wirelessly to a WiFi device without a router.
Note: LG recommends a home network connection speed of at least 2.5 Mbps recommended for standard definition, 10 Mbps for high definition, and 20 Mbps for ultra-high definition.
LG Content Store: LG Content Store allows you to access a variety of online entertainment services and content directly on the LG TV through its network connection and your internet provider. You can quickly and conveniently browse for TV Shows, Movies, and more. You can also download and use apps from various categories such as entertainment, lifestyle, news, education, sports, and games. Click here for the latest compatible apps (subscriptions & fees may apply for some online services and content). Below is a list of some of the most popular apps from LG Smart TV Apps.
Note: 4K & HDR network streaming requires a network speed of 20Mbps or greater. A wired Ethernet connection is recommended over a wireless WiFi connection for better performance. If you desire a WiFi connection, then use a dual-band Gigabit wireless-N router or better for 4K/HDR streaming.
DLNA + Plex Content Sharing: DLNA & Plex compatibility lets you stream select video, photo, and audio files stored on your computer to the LG TV over your home's WiFi network. DLNA is supported by Windows (7, 8, 8.1, or 10) and other DLNA network devices and servers. You will also need to download the SmartShare software on your compatible Windows PC. Plex Media Server software is supported by Windows (7, 8, 8.1, or 10) and Mac (OSX 10.9 or newer).
Screen Sharing via Miracast: Miracast is a "screen mirroring" function which lets you wirelessly send the display from your compatible Windows 8.1+ or Android 4.2+ device (with support for Miracast) to the LG TV. This allows you to view practically any content that is playing on your compatible Windows or Android device on your TV screen; no wireless router or access point required.
Triple USB Ports: The television features three USB (type-A) 2.0 ports for playback of video, still image, and music files stored on a connected USB memory device. The television can support USB external hard disc drives (up to 2TB) and USB mass storage class devices (up to 32GB). The USB storage devices must be formatted as FAT 32 or NTFS file system. In addition, the TV will charge USB devices that can be charged via USB (max. 5V/0.5A). The LG television even lets you watch a slideshow of your photos (JPEG) while listening to background music (MP3) from an inserted USB device.
Web Browser: The LG Smart TV features a built-in web browser that lets you search the Internet for a particular website by URL or keyword searches. The web browser supports only HTML5 media and not Flash Plug-in. The web browser only replays the following media file formats - JPEG/PNG/GIF. Not all websites will be available for download, because of size and content.
Magic Remote: LG's Magic Remote acts as a remote controller, mouse pointer, and voice commander. The Magic Remote automatically pairs with the TV via Bluetooth and has a wireless operating range up to 32.8'.
AI (Artificial Intelligence) ThinQ w/ Voice Control: The LG TV goes a step further than basic voice control commands with the integration of AI (Artificial Intelligence) ThinQ. AI ThinQ is able to achieve intelligent voice-activated control by employing Natural Language Processing (NLP) and LG's exclusive deep learning platform (Deep ThinQ). The LG TV with AI ThinQ can process hundreds of voice commands. You are able speak directly into the Magic Remote's mic to enjoy the ultra-convenient features of the latest advanced voice assistant technology with deep learning capability. AI ThinQ lets you use your voice to control television functions, search for content, and even manage your connected smart home devices.
Note: The TV will need to be connected to your home's network and internet provider for the AI (Artificial Intelligence) ThinQ feature to work.
LG TV Plus App: You can download the LG TV Plus app (for Android OS 4.2+ & Apple iOS 8.0+) onto your compatible Apple iOS or Android OS device in order to control the television from your smartphone or tablet, share content from your mobile device to the TV, and other convenient features. The LG TV and your Android or Apple iOS device must be connected to the same WiFi network.
HDMI-CEC: HDMI-CEC (or SIMPLINK) allows you to control other HDMI-CEC compatible components connected to the TV via HDMI from the television's Magic Remote. HDMI-CEC (or SIMPLINK) provides the following remote control functions.
Control4 Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP) Technology: The LG OLED TV features Control4 Simple Device Discovery Protocol (SDDP) technology. Control4 Corporation is a leading provider of automation and control solutions for the connected home. Products like flat-panel TVs, projectors, audio/video receivers, security cameras, alarm panels, and other network-aware products can be easily integrated into a consumer's smart and connected home via Control4 technology. With SDDP, the Control4 home automation system automatically finds, identifies, authenticates, adds and connects the SDDP-enabled devices nearly instantaneously during initial installation and set-up; dramatically reducing the complexity and configuration time for Control4 installers, and reducing potential incompatibility with other devices.
Keyboard Compatible: The LG OLED TV supports the use of a keyboard & mouse through its USB ports or via Bluetooth. You can enter text with the keyboard when using the Search function and the built-in Web Browser.
Serial Port: You can connect the 3.5mm serial port to an external control device (such as a computer or AV control system) to control the TV's functions externally.
WebOS 4.0: LG's latest WebOS 4.0 on-screen menu system is easy to learn and use. Initial setup is smooth and simple, while connecting to other devices and searching for content is extremely convenient. The intuitive WebOS 4.0 pulls together all your content choices and serves up entertainment options that neatly organize your recent viewing history, what's on Live TV, what you might like to watch next, and the latest movies, TV shows, apps and games from the LG Content Store. Now you can spend less time navigating and more time enjoying the premium content that you and your family want, accessed right through the television, thanks to LG's intuitive WebOS 4.0 user interface.
Netflix Recommended TV: Netflix Recommended TV is an evaluation program recognizing TVs that offer better performance, easier app access, and new features that make for a better smart TV. When you see the Netflix Recommended TV logo, it means the TV has passed a rigorous evaluation process based on criteria that Netflix members care about the most. The TV comes with the latest version of Netflix with newest features. It offers easier and faster access to Netflix (including a dedicated button on the remote), quicker playback and start times, and allows you to resume the Netflix app from where you left it.
Gallery Mode: The Gallery mode turns the TV into a digital picture frame, displaying pre-downloaded artwork and even your own USB downloaded picture files (JPEG format only). You choose one piece of artwork or begin a slide-show.
Closed Captions & Audio Guidance: The LG OLED TV offers Close Captions and Voice Guidance for the hearing and visually impaired. The TV provides Analog Closed Captions and Digital Closed Captions for the hearing impaired. You can also activate Voice Guidance, which describes when you change channels or inputs, adjust the volume up or down, and make changes in the menu settings.
Parental Control: Parental Control can be used to block specific channels, ratings, and other viewing sources (external input and application block). The Parental Control Function is used to block program viewing based on the ratings sent by the broadcasting station. The default setting is to allow all programs to be viewed. Viewing can be blocked by choosing the type of the program and the categories. It is also possible block a specific channel. The Parental Control function is protected by a 4-digit user password.
Energy Saving Feature: The Energy Saving feature helps to save electric power by adjusting the screen brightness; you can select from six modes - Auto, Minimum, Medium, Maximum, Screen Off, or Off.
On/Off & Sleep Timers: You can program the television to turn On and turn Off at a certain time. You can set the On and Off timer to Daily, Mon-Fri, Mon-Sat, Sat-Sun, or Once. You can also set the input, channel, and volume level for the On Timer. If you do not press any button within 2 hours after the TV turns on with the On Timer, the TV will automatically revert back to standby mode. The Sleep Timer turns the TV off at the preset time (10, 20, 30, 60, 90, 120, 180, or 240 minutes).
Built-in Customer Support: The LG Smart TV offers built-in customer support to help your learn functions and diagnose problems.
Software Update: You can update the TV with the latest software to enhance the product operation and/or add new features via the TV's network connection. Visit LG's Support Site for the latest firmware/software updates.
Pedestal Stand: The TV is shipped with the pedestal stand unattached; assembly is required using the supplied hardware. The television weighs 51.1 lbs with the stand. The TV does not swivel.
Wall Mounting: The TV has four threaded inserts on the back for use with an optional wall-mount bracket. The spacing of the mounting holes is 300mm (h) x 200mm (v). The threaded inserts require 6mm machine screws (not supplied). The television weighs 47.8 lbs without the stand.
Ventilation Requirements: When mounting the TV on the stand or a wall (with optional bracket) leave 4" of clearance on each side of the television and 4" above/below the television for adequate ventilation.
Attached AC Power Cord: The television features an attached 5' AC power cord. The power cord is fitted with a right-angle AC plug that sits 0.9375" from the wall.
