Our take on the Boom Mat Tape by Crutchfield's Buck Pomerantz
Quiets small buzzes
Does your car have a small buzz or rattle due to road vibrations or musical resonances? Then a little Boom Mat sound-damping tape applied directly to the parts involved will most likely quiet the issue. This tape works just like a larger damping sheet, and comes in handy for license plates, door panels, glove compartments, and other hard-to-reach spots. You can also use it to cover and secure wires and cables to floorboards and kick panels, so they won't rattle around.
The 2" wide tape comes in a 20-foot roll and is constructed of 2.5 mm thick butyl rubber with an aluminum facing. It requires no special tools for installing — just cut it, peel off the backing, and stick it where you want. It easily conforms to just about any shape or contour. It also adheres to almost any metal, aluminum, fiberglass, and plastic surface, plus many types of foam padding and fabrics. Warranty: 60 days.
