I bought this set to add to a family room where the use will be about 50% HT and 50% music listening. I have a very nice 2-channel set up in a another room and I wanted something that did not disappoint in stereo mode as so many of these bundled systems seem to do. My Crutchfield advisor first recommended the 800 series and i went to a big box store to give them a listen and found myself disappointed. However, the 1000 monitors on display were a HUGE improvement over the 800 so I decided to pull the trigger on the 1000 series. I have been pleasantly surprised to say the least. They integrated very well with a Denon 1913 and offer a warm and well-staged sound field. Trebles are a little bright - but not harsh. Mid ranges are a bit thin for my tastes and I think that I will have to do some tweaking to see if it is my setup affecting this or whether I am simply spoiled by my main system. The real highlight of this system for me though is the center channel. It is much better than the older Paradigm that this is replacing. Dialogue is clear even at lowered volumes. This makes me think that the bulk of people who are looking for a system predominantly oriented for HT use will be blown away by this package or the 1000/2000 which I believe even offers a better center and sub. The subwoofer is quite excellent and offers fairly clean bass.
Pros: Center channel is great. Excellent performer for combined HT and music listening.
Cons: Mids a little thin - May need breaking in???

I spent hours and weeks reviewing speakers and went down to my local electronics store to demo these. Tried running these through different amps and blue ray movies. By far the best quality sound for these type of speakers. The voices are super clear and the miss and highs are unsurpassed in quality sound. My room is 18x22 and has no problem filling the room with a movie experience. The base is clean and tight. I am using a Marantz 7007 amp and the can utilize all of the 120 w per channel. When you check out the rest make sure you spend time looking at these.
Pros: Clear center channel, highs and mids are clean and sharp and the base is clean and tight
Cons: Shinny black takes cleaning often

I have had the Pro Cinema 1000 set with a ProCenter 2000 center channel speaker for over a year. These blow away the BOSE Acoustimas 16's they replaced. Voices are much clearer, surround sounds are sharper and more richly detailed. People always ask who else is home because the sound is that good. I am powering them with a Pioneer Elite SC-37. Watching the 64" Samsung 3D Plasma is better than going to the movies. My kids only go to the movies for the IMAX, otherwise they think HOME is much better. Def Tech ROCKS!! Thanks Crutchfield, you continure to give great support for my AV needs.
Pros: Great rich sound, brings movies to life.
Cons: large for wall hanging

This system absolutely rocks! Welcome to true surround sound. I heard sounds in my living room that I did not realize we're coming from these speakers. I bought an extra pair or surrounds for a 7.1 system. Paired with my Denon avr1910, and my 55" Samsung LCD I get to enjoy a tyre home theater system. Thank you Crutchfield, you did an outstanding job! Highly recommended.
Pros: True awesome surround sound!
Cons: None! The 7.1 surround sound that I put together far exceeded my expectations. It was well worth the money!
