Great Sound, Great Price
Daniel from Albany, GA on 5/23/2023
I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the sound from these speakers, especially considering the price. I was anxious about the quality when I ordered these speakers since the cost was well below the cost for many other floorstanding speakers. After the easy setup I tried them out and the anxiety disappeared.
Pros: 1. Clarity 2. Value
Cons: None so far

Jamos S 805's a great value
Pete from Rochester, NY on 4/20/2023
Quick background: I have been listening to my LP collection since my college days 4 decades ago. My 900 plus LP's cover the artist spectrum from A to Z, mostly 70's and early 80's. I have long ago sold the 4 Bose 901 Series 4's that I purchased back when I was overseas in the military and have long been running old Advent Utility speakers. Still powering my sound today with my 45 year old Pioneer SA-8800 and Pioneer RG2 Dynamic Processor and Pioneer PL-630 turntable. I figured time for some new speakers. (My wife laughs and says grow up, this ain't the 70's.) Now today: I just purchased the Jamo S 805 speakers on a whim and what a great surprise - what a great sound for the price... the first tune I played on these was Billy Idol's "White Wedding". I figured let me see what these have got... and they got it!! What a steal for two hundred bucks. I love them - clean crisp sound, easy to tweak the high end, I tend to lay off the bass (too many years of rocking and rolling.) but these are a terrific value. Solid midtone. 5 stars all the way. I have played everything from The Who to Zepplin to Styx to Rush to Elton John.... you name it, these Jamos sing. And a miscellaneous side note - the packaging of these from Crutchfield is the best I have ever seen. Double boxed. Arrived in 3 days.

Good Speakers for a Modest Setup
Raul from San Antonio, TX on 3/12/2023
Heavy enough to feel substantial, yet light enough to be maneuverable. The sound has Jamo's trademark v-curve. So, while not the last word in audio reproduction, they are dynamic and engaging speakers.
Pros: Dynamic speakers. Have Jamo's signature v-curve sound.
Cons: Not a neutral sounding speaker, if that matters to you.

Excellent speakers. Very solidly built- not light, but not too heavy either. Relatively easy to pick up for an average man or woman, but definitely not light and plastic-feeling. They sound great- I live in an apartment and am afraid to crank them up so as to not disturb my neighbors, but even at relatively low volume you can still hear little nuances in music. Highly recommend.

Amazing sound regardless of the low price
Scott from JEFFERSON, WI on 11/3/2022
The plan was to put the old system back together, highlighted by a 100W Adcom GFA-545 amp, a Technics SL-Q2, a new CD player, and some classic vinyl. No room for my old powerhouse Jamo CBR-120 speakers though in the 12x16 dining room (which opens into surrounding areas). So I took a chance on the Jamo S 805 product with a price that was surprisingly low. Have them on 20" stands. These sound incredible! Rich, full sound on Breathe from vinyl Dark side of the Moon. Tight punchy deep bass and crisp highs on CD ELP's Tank. You can feel the air pulsing out of the front ports. Great imaging. Highly efficient, maybe 1/3 throttle at maximum tolerable sound level. Very satisfied!
Pros: Crisp highs, full midrange, deep punchy bass. Very efficient. Amazing price.
Cons: Can't find any negatives.

Good naked speakers
Kay from Lawrence, NY on 9/6/2022
Great speakers, great sales ppl and tech support ppl. Note you will need an amp and audio cable or banana plugs separately. Just use a wire stripper/cutter to take off around 8-10 cm of rubber and it screws in super easy. These do not require a separate power supply. Sound quality is smooooth. Have them set up at my desk, sounds like I'm wearing high quality headphones. Music, nature sounds, movies, meetings, shows - all great. Bass is really nice even without adding a sub woofer.
Pros: Good for money Great sound Good bass w/o subwoofer Not too heavy for biga$$ speakers
Cons: Needs external amp Wiring stripping a bit intimidating for someone whos never done it

I love them, I really like the looks and the size of the speakers, great sound although a subwoofer might be a good addition for extra bass. I needed new speakers after my 45-year-old JBLs finally conked out for good. These Jamo's really sound and look great. Can't beat the price.
Pros: Looks and sound
Cons: Could use a little more bass

Zachary from Chester, NJ on 3/3/2022
I'm using them as left and right front speakers for a home theater setup. Good sound and clarity. Need to be paired with a subwoofer to get real bass, but that's to be expected from a speaker like this. Great value for the money. Smaller than I thought they would be, but mostly because I didn't read the measurements and just assumed they would be the same height as the pair of KEF floorstanders I have.
Pros: Price, looks, quality, value
Cons: lacking bass, a bit short

Elie from Philadelphia, PA on 1/26/2022
My projector screen setup had a soundbar that seemed sub-par. I got a jamo woofer for it and it improved a lot but still was lacking something. I am not that knowledgeable in audio, but I got an old Panasonic receiver from ebay with a pre out and 100w per to drive these. The smile on my face was so big when I heard these. These Jamos not only look so good, but also sound so clear and pleasan with the matching wooden woofer.

Bradley from Delmar on 12/4/2021
There's very good layering, punch, and soundstage for a speaker this cheap. Ive never listened to the s803, but this is barely more expensive, doesn't need stands, and can be crossed over as low as 60 hz with your subwoofer. Also, if you don't want Atmos, there's none of those holes on the top.

More than what you pay for
Crutchfield customer from Knoxville, TN on 9/12/2021
Very pleased, these are great speakers for the very affordable price. I needed some speakers for a 'conversation area' living room upstairs where I might want music, talk radio, or Amz Audible etc. I was originally going to purchase one of the Jamo bookshelf speakers pairs, but I had some Crutchfield bucks on my account from a previous purchase, so I bought these instead. A good choice as floor standing standing bass reflex speakers are almost always better than their bookshelf equivalents. These Jamo's have a very warm and detailed sound. They are Bose-like in that regard. I'm using them for two-channel stereo sources. I have them hooked to a Denon receiver and two stereo inputs (a Grace Digital internet radio tuner using digital coax, and a laptop with HDMI output, for sound only. No video). I feel no need to add a subwoofer as they have plenty of bass as is. Oh, and they look great too! The white matches my area's trim perfectly.

Solid speaker. A little bass heave.
Chris from Marion, NC on 7/9/2021
I was suggested these based on my existing setup by a Crutchfield rep. All in all, I like them a lot. They're very unassuming looking, which Is nice. They also sound clear at any volume level. I have a receiver, these speakers, and a subwoofer to play my records through. Personally, I think they sound a little bass-heavy with my sub. I would like a little more mid range. They get plenty loud without distorting as well. I live in an older house where each room is walled off. We often play records in the living room but listen in the kitchen or dining room while we cook or eat or entertain. They get plenty loud to be heard across my small home. They also have nice feet that screw on. It makes them very stable. I would recommend checking them out. They do a lot of things well.
Pros: Price Volume Looks Sound quality
Cons: Bass heavy (personal preference)

Austin from Newburyport, MA on 3/6/2021
Came looking for a quality set of floor speakers to enjoy a new turntable with. The price was right on these Jamo S 805s and the reviews seemed all positive. I couldn't be more pleased to hear the quality audio that comes out of these! Their capability far exceeds its price point! I use them in an average sized home office and they are incredibly powerful. The bass is so strong that it has lead to multiple noise complains from neighbors, which doesn't even bother me because it means these bump!! HIGHLY recommend for a basic stereo setup with power well exceeding it's price points. And of course you can't go wrong with Crutchfield's customer service!!

Weak speakers
I am powering this with a Denon AVR-S540BT. They sounded really good for the first 2 weeks then the disappointment came, they started sounding harsh and unpleasant to my ears. The imaging soundstage that I loved about the speakers and clean sound disappeared. I gave it time to change, and thought it had to be broken in to sound better, it 's over two months now and they still sound terrible. Now it's just ordinary speakers and now sound cheap. Weak speakers. I won't recommend.
Pros: Good looking speakers
Cons: Weak Speakers

Great bang for your buck towers.
Crutchfield customer from Fair Haven, VT on 7/6/2020
Purchased these Jamo's to replace a set of aging 22 year old Cerwin Vega floorstandings. My first thoughts were that based on the design and specs would these suffice in reproducing the low freqs that my old ones faithfully did and then some for years without using my subwoofer in a stereo configuration and the answer is these S 805's exceeded my expectations. The bass fills the medium sized living room and the highs are crisp although some listeners may want to EQ tweak a bit as they can be harsh on some recordings. The mids in the vocals are surprisingly dramatic for a two-way design. Very fun to listen to and the only minor drawback is they are slightly lacking in the dynamics but given their price it is about one of the better values in the class. Very satisfied.
Pros: Impressive soundstage. Great value.
Cons: Dynamics a bit lacking. Highs can verge on harshness on some recordings.

Expectations Exceeded
Jeff from Palm Harbor, Florida on 3/22/2019
As a hobbyist audiophile (aka audiophile with a marginal budget), I'm constantly looking for ways to improve my listening experience (without breaking the bank). I currently have a Technics 5100 turntable, Sansui G5700 receiver and use a Mica OriGen G2 USB DAC when streaming music from my laptop (via Tidal). My speakers for the past year have been the Fluance Signature Series bookshelf speakers. For the money (~$200), they have met most of my music listening needs - but have always felt like they were missing something (mainly more punch at the low end). So enter the Jamo S 805's. I recently received some recognition awards at work - which I was able to convert to Crutchfield gift cards. These were burning a hole in my pocket....so, I started to evaluate some speaker options. After much thought, I decided to give the Jamo's a try. I figured if they did not meet my music listening needs - I could easily add them to my home theater setup and go back to my Fluance bookshelfs. Well...first impressions...WOW! These are a ton of fun to listen to. They meet my music listening needs/wants and provide that 'something extra' the Fluance bookshelf's lacked. These have a small footprint - but produce big sound with enough low end that a sub-woofer is not needed. The highs get close to being too harsh - but they are not difficult to listen to. I'm excited to hear how they continue to sound as I continue to put them through their paces. These are a great
Pros: -Dynamic Sound -Plenty of low-end punch -Great looking speaker -Small footprint -Great value
Cons: -Not many at this price point -Highs can get close to being a bit harsh

The Jamo S805 is the "best speaker" I have ever had. Right out of the box it outperformed my other speakers costing in the $4,000 range. The bass, midrange and treble "blend" excellently with each other. Every instrument is crystal clear with nice separation. There is also a very warm tone. I have been doing audio for 40 years, and have a keen ear for sound. Go Jamo ! What a great company !
Pros: Everything in the soundstage is excellent.
Cons: Only an average looking speaker as far as wood-grain quality.
