I'm very pleased with the Jamo 810 , the design is very easy to hide, wonder why more companies do not follow this The sound is the perfect fit to my system, it's what was missing, I just did not want nor did I have the room for a traditional sub George Gomez

Awesome Little Sub
Sean Francis from Cloquet, MN on 1/17/2023
I bought this sub with a full Jamo 5.1.2 package I picked out myself, and I will admit I was a bit nervous at first. The reasons I went with it was for price, size, and it was the same series as the rest of my speakers. I am not one bit disappointed. This little unit puts out some awesome bass for it's size. I have the crossover on the sub set at 80 and the volume only turned halfways up and this thing can bring some thunder! I've only watched one movie so far, but I was impressed immediately. It has great lows, it's punchy, and it just sounds great. If someone told me this thing would sound half as good as what it does I wouldn't have believed them. I'd highly recommend this to anyone that doesn't want a big giant box taking up a bunch of room.
Pros: Price Sounds great Saves a ton of space
Cons: None yet

Great: Price, Size, Looks, and Performance
David from Schenectady on 11/17/2022
Bought this unit for use with a TV in my dining room/kitchen area because of its size and features. Fit perfectly below my TV, connected to my new Marantz CR-612 small footprint receiver with an available subwoofer connection. I have a pair of 8" round Bose in the ceiling. Sound is fantastic... The Jamo adds that little bit of "punch" that one does not expect from a smaller entertainment system. Yes, it does take some time to fine-tune the performance, but you'd have to do this with more expensive subwoofers too. In the end, you'll probably feel better not spending the extra money on more expensive, supposedly better subwoofers. The Jamo sounds great. I could see this unit in a home office environment, bedroom, or any smaller area that you might want to add a little "punch" in the bass department. My cabinet is a simple "walnut" vinyl veneer, with a stylish grey removable grille cloth, its presentable for its location in my home.
Pros: Very reasonable price, size lends itself to locations that you would not normally put a subwoofer, Adjustments to tune your bass performance to your liking....
Cons: The location of the adjustments are located on the bottom of the enclosure. Some find this very inconvenient. I simply turn it over, make my adjustments and flipped it back and listen...(repeat if necessary)

Jamo S 810 SUB
Guest from Tampa, FL on 9/17/2022
I'm the guy that researches things to the point that most people would lose their minds. I wanted a system that sounds decent and didn't break the bank. If this is a "starter subwoofer", my only response is HOLY CRAP! My plan was to buy 2 to keep the living room symmetrical, not gonna happen. If that was the goal I should have got the 8". This is my 1st powered sub, and it absolutely gets down. If you're on the fence about this sub, just pull the trigger. I'm sure there are better subs out there, but I can't imagine why you'd spend more. This sub sounds great for movies and music. I thought the S809's had pretty good bass response considering they're run off a Denon AVR-X2300. When adding the S810 I crossed over the towers at 80hz, let the sub take over from there. What a difference, I want to listen to every song I like all over again. I come from car audio and the shallow nature of this sub worried me. Nope, I can't express enough, if you're thinking of the entire Jamo line or just the sub, I say go for it. Are there better performing/looking speakers, sure. In this price range, I can't imagine there is. This thing impresses me every time I turn it on. My wife, friends....and neighbors lol, can't believe how this sounds. I never leave reviews, but if this will convince even one person considering this sub, it was worth the review. If this is your 1st powered sub, you're in for a treat and you're welcome.
Pros: Pros and cons are the same thing ironically. The wire hook ups and amp adjustments are mounted on the bottom. Pros, it makes placing this sub simple, it can go wherever you want. Cons, it is a pain to adjust but how often are you adjusting your subwoofer. I spent a few hours listening and adjusting, I doubt I'll ever touch it again.
Cons: Ok, there is one more con. The included cable to the receiver is only 6ft long. If you want more flexibility you'll need to purchase it separately

Worth the purchase
Robert from Jamestown, NY on 7/31/2022
I'm using it in a 150 square foot room with the bookshelf speakers for music only. Placement is limited so keep that in mind. It does a good job of filling in low end frequencies. It sounds best limiting the crossover away from its lowest setting, proper phase selection and controlled/mid volume. Paired with the s803 Jamo set and, again, set with proper limits, this attractive little set is more than enough to handle a small to medium size room, providing decent quality. Crutchfield price-matched the sub and I had previously bought the s803 pair on sale from them. I recommend for anyone looking for decent sound at plenty of volume for the price.
Pros: Decent sound for music Pairs well with s803 Narrow profile
Cons: Does not handle extreme low frequencies well

I'm a novice when it comes to audio equipment but this has been excellent paired with my Kanto yu6 speakers and project carbon debut turntable. The option to have it turn on automatically when the desired "sound frequency" is met is pretty cool. Big rumbling sound but not muddy. Great price.

If you're low on space and need a little extra on the low end, this S 180 is perfect. Great performance for the money
Jay from Crownsville, MD on 3/14/2022
Great performance for the money and the dimensions made it a perfect fit with the space I had available under my desk. I love the walnut finish with the tweed covers, beautifully finished. But I have to dock a star for placing the controls on the bottom making it very difficult to adjust and tune. I thought I could adjust it once and leave it but I find myself wanting to adjust depending on what volume I happen to be listening to and it's just not convenient with the controls on the bottom. Otherwise, great buy for the performance and value.
Pros: Great performance value and the shallow depth helps it fit in spaces you wouldn't think a 10" sub should go.
Cons: Controls for the crossover and gain are on the bottom of the sub making it difficult to adjust once its in place.

An added boost of bass
Crutchfield customer from Charlottesville, VA on 2/14/2022
One of my friends at Crutchfield recently added this sub to their turntable setup and recommended it. I've been using a turntable with bookshelf speakers and no sub for a long, long while. I couldn't believe the difference in quality. And it's not just the albums with heavy bass, it brings out every subtle strum of a guitar along with those big beats. It's a game-changer!

Nice powered subwoofer in a highly competitive price segment
Daniel from La Porte, IN on 1/17/2022
At the discounted price, it is an excellent deal on a competent powered subwoofer. Even at full list price, the Jamo is worth consideration. The tall-slim design (with color options) is a nice alternative to the typical black cube. Construction quality is very good. The walnut (vinyl wrap) is attractive and well done. That said, don't expect to be fooled into thinking that it is real wood veneer. The bottom-mounted controls can be a bit of a pain during set-up. If you are a set and forget type listener, this should not be an issue. If you are someone that likes to frequently fiddle with the settings, this may be a negative. Sound quality from the S810 is very good. This internal amp is not a power house and sub is not what I would call hard hitting but it does fill in the lower frequencies quite well. Output should be fine for a typical living room for music or home theater. If you have a large room or like heavy bass, consider a larger sub or (2) of the S810's. I ordered this to replace an older 12" sub used with bookshelf speakers for music . The tall-thin design allowed for alternate placement options. In the end, the Jamo did not match the sound of my older (larger) sub though the differences were subtle. Without my old unit to compare, I would have kept the Jamo. In the end, I opted to stick with my existing sub. Solid 4 out of 5 given its price, color options and sound quality.
Pros: Attractive High value Good sound

Not just a pretty package
Sam from Riverside, IL on 1/13/2022
When I recently paired a set of the new KLH Model Fives with a Leak Stereo 130, it was my first foray into modern gear after years of collecting and restoring vintage hifi. After reading countless reviews of both components, the consensus was that a sub would really complete the sound I was after, but I didn't want a black box that looked out of place with every other piece of gear in my house. After a few weeks of letting this sub settle in and dialing in the settings, I can confidently say that, although the look was what first sold me, the sonic character of the S 810 is worth the money in its own right. Blends seamlessly with the rest of the setup, delivers additional body to music, and is dead silent on standby (not a given with the power in my house). I highly suggest getting a right-angle RCA adapter and higher quality cable than the one supplied with the sub, but that's merely a matter of preference.
Pros: - Beautiful walnut veneer - Simple setup - Plenty of punch for the power
Cons: - None at this price

This thing jams
Ryan from San Marcos, CA on 12/4/2021
I bought it because it's narrow and could fit exactly where I wanted it to - behind a buffet table in a "corridor" and it ends up filling a 25 x 15 room with plenty of bass. It's connected to a sonos amp powering 4 in-ceiling speakers and the room sounds great! Would highly recommend, especially for the price. Listening style: rock, rap; not looking to blow the roof off, but do want solid bass and occasional loud jam session
Pros: Size fits in narrow spaces ported design puts out great bass!

Jamo S 810 SUB
Mike from Grand Lake, CO on 11/21/2021
I had my doubts before ordering this sub. Just 75 watts RMS, and only rated down to 36hz- would I be missing out on that 20-35hz range? On the other hand- I'd already bought the Jamo bookshelf and center speakers for largely aesthetic reasons, but ended up really liking their sound. The sub matches, has a compact tower shape, and is better looking than anything in the price range. I was upgrading from an old Yamaha cube, so anything would be an improvement, right? Yes. A massive improvement. Despite the unconventional shape and relatively low power, this sub can pound. The down firing port makes it loud, but it's not sloppy at all. I ran some sound tests/bass drops, and was again pleasantly surprised. No noticable drop off at 35hz or even 30hz, with powerful bass into the mid 20s. It almost seems like Jamo is underrating the S line so there's a clear differentiation with the Concert Series. 20hz was admittedly weak- but I don't have a big sub to compare it to. Ultimately, bass is a gateway drug, and now I have 2 of them. The second sub really fills out the space, and I can't imagine ever needing more. You really can't beat a dual sub setup for $400. (I opted for ground shipping on the second sub to save $20, but the packaging from Jamo was insufficient. At some point it was dropped on a corner and the sub arrived with cosmetic damage. Crutchfield worked with me, and in the end I kept it with a cosmetic discount).
Pros: Unique compact shape, surprisingly powerful

Crutchfield customer from Tooele, UT on 10/23/2021
I have two of these and they are a very good solution to the "where do I put these damned black cubes?" problem. They add a nice fullness to the lower end; a bit more boomy than punchy, but punchy is what my Polk towers are for. Also the (simulated) walnut cabinets are a nice alternative to the usual "you can have it in any color you like, as long as it's black."
Pros: Ease of placement; furniture-like finish
Cons: Making sure connections and settings are correct (they're on the bottom) before place

A fine subwoofer with an unusual design
Lyle from Virginia Beach, VA on 6/2/2021
This unit is much different than the usual black box. The vertical orientation gives it a much different look, and allows for placement in unusual spaces against a wall or under furniture. Esthetic considerations usually have little to do with purchase of a subwoofer, but they did in this case, since I placed it between two bookcases against a white wall. That this unit is available in three different finishes is also unusual. As others have observed, the bottom-mounted controls are a minor nuisance, not a deal breaker. The best way to deal with that issue is to turn the unit upside down, tune it and then reposition it right side up. The on/off LED is on the front panel where it should be, unlike the case with many subs in which it is out of sight on the rear panel. Performance is better than I expected- the bass is quite powerful, even at one-third set on the volume control. This unit doesn't have the performance that larger subs have, but it perfect for adding more bass to side or rear home theater channels. Overall, a fine unit at an excellent price, which seems to be generally true of Jamo products. I previously bought a Jamo C912, and my satisfaction with it led to purchase of this sub. I only recently learned that Klipsch bought Jamo back in 2005. Since Klipsch was in turn acquired by a conglomerate, that fact may not have much significance.
Pros: 1. Vertical orientation 2. Three available finishes 3. Excellent performance 4. Fine build quality
Cons: 1. Controls on bottom, but easily dealt with

sub and 5 piece Jamo speaker set
Crutchfield customer from Wasco, OR on 5/28/2021
I have a 5 year old Denon S510BT and have been wanting to upgrade the entry level speakers I bought with the AVR. I also bought the Jamo 5 piece system as well. They sound way better. The 5 piece system was open box, so I got a great price. At full list price, the 5 piece system might be at the outer edge of value for price. I did pay full list for the sub after hearing the other speakers. The vinyl wrap looks decent and all the speakers are heavy. The sub I laid on its side to access the controls while I got it set up. The sub controls being on the bottom and mostly hidden make for a better visual appeal, but at the same time a touch annoying to set up. I would recommend the 5.1 system, but a much better value if you could buy on sale or like I did, open box. And for now, the S8 ATM in walnut are out of stock. Hoping the Denon X3700H goes on sale as full price is a bit much for now.
Pros: really nice sound. find on sale great choice, full list, maybe.

Crutchfield customer from Medway, MA on 3/22/2021
This is a great and unique subwoofer. I have an outdoor patio Sonos system with two Sonance speakers and a Sonos Connect Amp. A new Sonos sub is $700. The space I have for a sub really only fits a Sonos sub, but this one fits perfectly. AND it's very good as well. It's not quite as tight a sound as the Sonos sub, but it is altogether excellent. It completed my outdoor sound system (the sub is inside against a wall that borders my outdoor space) for $450 less. A great value, looks great and sounds great. Combined with Crutchfield's fabled customer service, this was a no-brainer.

Was a little concerned about previous reviews on a "thumping" issue that plagued this model. But so far I love it. The main reason I purchased this from Crutchfield is the raving reviews about their customer support that I read. Could have saved a small amount purchasing from a different supplier, but the customer support claims swayed me with the possible "thumping" issue. Having said that, I hope I don't have to experience it first hand.

Office 2.1
Crutchfield customer from Corpus Christi, TX on 8/17/2020
I debated on whether to buy the 8" or the 10" and whether to buy the black or the white. I had previously purchased the Jamo bookshelf speakers (w/bluetooth) and wanted some low end. Eventually, availability won out and I bought the black 10"and within a few minutes, everything was set up and sounding good. Initially, the gain was set as high as it could go but within an hour or so, I had backed it down a couple of notches. This is an office set-up and I'm really happy with the performance and sound, especially given that all components were on sale at time of purchase.
Pros: the slim profile would be ideal for anyone looking to hide the sub
Cons: this may be more of a gripe than a con and also sounds a little contradictory to the Pro - if you don't hide the sub and/or lay it on it's side, then the controls are on the bottom which can be annoying until you fine tune your listening level.

I initially bought this subwoofer in Oct 2018, but replaced it do to a continual heartbeat sound being produced when on. Now 6+ months later the heartbeat is back. This appears to be very common failure for both Jamo and Klipsch subwoofers (see online forums). Unfortunately, I'm passed my return window with Crutchfield. Hopefully, I won't have to scrap a $300 sub that's less than a year old.

Very good woofer
Stewart from Seattle, WA on 6/21/2019
Great little woofer. Needed a compact sub to fit in my bedroom and this was perfect. Crutchfield advisors were perfect as usual. I was concerned with some of the reviews but seems Jamo/klipsch got the amp issue resolved. This is fast with good low end extension. Made me a believer!
Pros: Fits tight spaces Fast Good low end
Cons: None

Jamo S 810 SUB
Crutchfield customer from Austin, TX on 3/17/2019
Do not buy this product. It looks great. It sounds great. When it works. Crutchfield is great but this product is a problem. It worked fine for the first few days but then made the heartbeat sound that a few other customers have also complained about with this product. Great service folks at Crutchfield sent a new one. Same thing. I have two now to return. Just not sure ordering another one is the answer.
Pros:
Cons: Bass I. Your face when you don't want it in your place.

Factory defect
Dustin from APO, AE on 3/11/2019
Had the same heartbeat problem that a few others have had. Basically a fault within the amp caused it to go bad within a few weeks of owning it. Will be getting a better, different brand subwoofer.
Pros: Looks good and was ok sounding when it worked. Crutchfield's team always are awesome.
Cons: Has a problem that others have experienced

Great sub with major flaw
Guest from Bellflower, CA on 2/25/2019
This is my 2nd Jamo sub (first one was the 8 inch model) from Crutchfield. I returned the 8 inch model after only about 3 weeks of use, due to a thumping 'hiccup' sound that would occur even when my whole system would be on mute. Low and behold the exact same thing happened to this 10 inch replacement model sub about the same time, 2-3 weeks of use. Same symptoms! From what i've heard, alot of manufacturers use very cheap amps in their subs. As of right now i'm not sure what to do, since I really like the sub (10 inch model) and would like to keep it. Maybe I can find someone who can swap out this Jamo amp inside the box for a higher quality one? We'll see.
Pros: Does everything I need it too Decent price Nice clean modern appearance
Cons: Low quality amp (apparently)

Great addition to my stereo system
Bob from Jasper, TN on 2/25/2019
I wanted this sub because it of the box dimensions, but worried about how this might affect the sound. Rest assured it sounds wonderful, more than enough bass, and I enjoy listening to music more than ever after adding the sub to my stereo. The cloth grill gives the sub an upscale look and compliments my other speakers.
Pros: Fast setup
Cons: None so far

Subwoofer Review
Andrew from Tempe, AZ on 2/17/2019
Purchased the sub and after two weeks, it started making a thumping sound like a heartbeat. Contacted technical support and determined it was ground loop interference. Tech support person was very helpful in coordinating an exchange and shipping of a replacement sub (different make and model).
Pros: Ease of installation and all cables were included
Cons: Problems after two weeks of use

Sounded good, but had an issue, Crutchfield swapped no problem
Crutchfield customer from Warwick, RI on 2/11/2019
It sounded fine when i hooked it up, but soon after it made random boom sounds. I would have swapped it for another, sometimes stuff just breaks in transit or whatever. The good news is Crutchfield took it back and i swapped it for a different brand higher end sub from dent and scratch for the same price.

Nice sounding an looking.
Crutchfield customer from Nashville, TN on 2/1/2019
Nice sub with all the essential controls especially the LFE. For my application I sorta wish I had bought the 8". After hearing the 10" I believe the 8" may have been more punchy but it dials in nicely with some effort. I recommend. Crutchfield once again delivers fast and intact. Thanks.
Pros: Interfaces nicely with a sound bar. Good looking, bought the walnut for a change from black. Great controls like LFE
Cons: None really

Right size, good sound
CSmith from Atlanta, GA on 10/29/2018
Works well and fills out the bottom end of new Elac B 6.2s nicely, which needed a bit more weight on some recordings in my large living room. Use just with stereo set-up for music, no HT. Cut off around 50-60hz is all they needed. Running 2 units directly from amp output. Yes, together they cost more than the speakers themselves, but they were worth it. Why not 5 stars? White version not being sold in U.S. for some reason!

Great bottom end for the price
Crutchfield customer from Round Hill, VA on 8/27/2018
Pairs up nicely with my Marantz 1508. Sound is clear and not overpoweringly 'muddy'. Fits nicely between the wall and cabinet, and the auto power on/off feature is excellent.
Pros: Good sound and features for the price
Cons: None - wished I'd bought it sooner!
