About the AudioQuest Husky
Carries crystal-clear bass signals
AudioQuest's Husky sub cable looks great and makes sure your signal isn't muddied by distortion or noise.
Carries crystal-clear bass signals
The AudioQuest Husky is a high-quality cable that keeps bass signals pristine as they pass from your receiver to a subwoofer. AudioQuest carefully engineered it to eliminate distortion and interference, using features like air-tube insulation and a four-layer noise dissipation system.
The braided black-and-blue jacket both looks sharp and protects your investment. There's also a separate spade ground connector on each end of the cable to make sure your bass is hum-free.
Solid copper, silver-coated connectors
The Husky's solid pure red copper connectors are plated in silver for a superior connection. The plating is achieved with cold welding — a heat-free process that uses high pressure and silver paste to prevent signal loss. This configuration performs very close to solid silver, but at a lower cost.
Triple Balanced Geometry
This cable has three conductors balanced together to ensure that positive and negative portions of the audio signal remain on equallly low-distortion paths. This prevents the shielding from being used as an inferior conductor.
Built-in battery pack for better performance
AudioQuest's Dielectric-bieas system includes a battery pack attached to the cable. It polarizes the insulation with a 72-volt charge, doing away with any potential "break in" period and giving you optimal performance from your sub every time you turn it on. It also helps prevent time delay that can muddy the sound. A built-in RF trap catches and removes radio-frequency interference that might otherwise sneak in. The included battery should last for years, but there's a test button and LED so you can periodically double check it.
- two silver-plated solid copper conductors for superior sound quality (silver layer is 5% of total conductor)
- mono RCA connection at each end
- polyethylene air-tube insulation minimizes unwanted energy storage and distortion
- 100% shield coverage with AQ's carbon-based 4-layer Noise Dissipation System, to resist RFI interference
- Triple-Balanced Geometry prevents the cable shield from being used as inferior conductor by ensuring both positive and negative signals have equally low-distortion conducting paths
- built-in Dielectric-Bias System (DBS) minimizes energy storage and prevents time-delays (phase shifts) for improved detail and dynamic contrast
- RF trap keeps out radio frequency noise out of the conductors
- test button with LED lets you check the battery
- cold-welded silver-plated RCA connectors
- built-in ground wire with spade lugs to prevent hum
- durable black-and-blue braided covering
- warranty: 5 years
- Our 60-day money-back guarantee
- MFR # HUSKY02

More details on the AudioQuest Husky
Solid 0.5% Silver Conductors: Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion and reduce jitter. Solid silver-plated conductors are excellent for very high-frequency applications. These signals, being such a high frequency, travel almost exclusively on the surface of the conductor. As the surface is made of high-purity silver, the performance is very close to that of a solid silver cable, but priced much closer to solid copper cable. This is an incredibly cost effective way of manufacturing very high-quality subwoofer cables.
Polyethylene Air-Tube Insulation: All of Husky's conductors use PE Air-Tube Insulation because air absorbs next to no energy, and Polyethylene is low-loss and has a benign distortion profile. PE Air-Tube Insulation causes much less of the out-of-focus effect common to other materials
Dielectri-Bias System (DBS): AudioQuest's DBS creates a strong, stable electrostatic field which saturates and polarizes (organizes) the molecules of the insulation. This minimizes both energy storage in the insulation and the multiple nonlinear time-delays that occur. Sound appears from a surprisingly black background with unexpected detail and dynamic contrast. The DBS battery packs will last for years. A test button and LED allow for the occasional battery check.
Carbon-Based 4-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS): Metal and Carbon-Loaded synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipment's ground plane.
Triple-Balanced Geometry: The three conductors in "Triple-Balanced" Husky cables ensure that the RCA plugs' positive and negative signals have equally low-distortion conducting paths. The 100% coverage shield is never used as an inferior conductor.
Cold-Welded Hanging-Silver Directly Over Pure Red Copper System: This plug design enables a perfect heat-free connection between cable and plug. The connection between the plug and conductors is made using AQ's Cold-Welded System, which provides a superior connection that ensures that the structural integrity of the conductor is kept completely intact. The Cold-Welded System refers to a combination of high pressure at the point of contact and the use of copper- or silver-impregnated paste. (Husky's silver conductors get silver paste.)
Grounding: If you hear noticeable hum in your system after connecting your subwoofer, please attach the subwoofer cable's ground leads to your audio gear. Some audio equipment have a ground (GND) connection on the back-panel, if not, attach the ground spade lugs to any screw on the equipment chassis of both the source and the subwoofer. Usually, this wire will not need to be connected.
