AQ's Mackenzie cables let the music flow
Named after Canada's longest river, AudioQuest's beautifully built Mackenzie interconnects offer long-term listening enjoyment. Each cable features solid (not stranded) copper conductors to virtually eliminate electrical and magnetic interference that can add brittleness to the sound.
Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ conductors
Mackenzie's solid conductors are made of AQ's Perfect Surface Copper+. Proprietary metal-processing technology protects the wire's surface at every stage of drawing and fabrication. When high-purity low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion Perfect Surface Copper+ conductor. The resulting sound quality is even more focused and simply less in the way.
Advanced shielding, insulation, and cable geometry
An advanced 3-layer shielding system eliminates noise due to RFI (radio frequency interference). The insulation material is hard-cell foam injected with nitrogen to create air pockets. The foam's stiffness allows the conductors in the cable to maintain the same relationship with each other along the full length of the cable, to maintain consistent impedance. AudioQuest's triple-balanced cable geometry separates the ground and shield paths for clean, quiet performance.
Cold-welded, direct silver-plated connectors
Mackenzie's connectors are made from high-purity "Purple Copper," which outperforms more common connector materials where it counts — in the listening room. They're also cold-welded, rather than soldered, which eliminates a common source of distortion found in many other audio cables. A direct silver-plating process further enhances signal transfer, for even better clarity.

AudioQuest Mackenzie reviews
Terrible sounding for the first few hours then they open up and sound excellent.I have "be" tweeters and was concerned about them being too bright or tinny. They are very neutral and airy.Great bass and silky smooth highs.Hard to beat for the price.I have no regrets buying them. They can only get better after more break in. E
Pros: A very honest and nuetral sounding cable.
Cons: None for me

More details on the AudioQuest Mackenzie
Solid Perfect-Surface Copper+ PSC+) Conductors: Perfect-Surface Copper+ has an astonishingly smooth and pure surface. Proprietary metal-processing technology protects the wire's surface at every stage of drawing and fabrication. When high-purity low-oxide copper is kept as soft, pure and smooth as possible, it becomes a wonderfully low-distortion PSC+ conductor. PSC+ is manufactured by applying the same exceptional technology to an ultra-pure copper. The resulting sound quality is even more focused and simply less in the way. For over 30 years AudioQuest has pioneered the use of superior metals; yet even we were surprised by the huge leap in performance made possible with Perfect-Surface Technology. PSC+ simply outperforms all previously available copper metals at any price. All of Mackenzie's conductors are solid. Electrical and magnetic interaction between strands in a conventional cable is the greatest source of distortion, often causing a somewhat dirty, harsh sound. Solid conductors are fundamental toward achieving Mackenzie's very clean sound.
Nitrogen-Injected Hard-Cell Foam Insulation: Nitrogen-Injected Hard-Cell Foam insulation is used exclusively in most of AudioQuest's video and digital audio cables. Similar to Foamed-PE, it is nitrogen-injected to create air pockets. 'Hard' foam is used because the stiffness of the material allows the conductors in the cable to maintain the same relationship with each other along the full length of the cable, thus ensuring that the characteristic impedance of the cable is consistent.
Carbon-Based 3-Layer Noise-Dissipation System (NDS): 100% shield coverage is easy. Preventing captured RF Interference from modulating the equipment's ground reference requires AQ's Noise-Dissipation System. Metal and Carbon-Loaded synthetics prevent most RFI from reaching the equipment's ground plane.
Triple-Balanced Geometry: The three conductors in "Triple-Balanced" Mackenzie cables ensure that the the positive and negative signals have equally low-distortion conducting paths. The 100% coverage shield is never used as an inferior conductor.
Cold-Welded Hanging-Silver Directly Over Pure Purple Copper Plugs: This plug design allows for a connection devoid of solder, which is a common source of distortion. Because the ground shells are stamped instead of machined, the metal can be chosen for low distortion instead of machinability. Purple Copper offers a cleaner, clearer sound than the nickel-plated or OFHC metals commonly found in competing manufacturers' plugs.
