About the Boyo VTL375HD Rear-view camera

A simple addition

Adding a rear-view camera to your vehicle expands your view of what's behind you. For some, just the convenience is enough, but Boyo's VTL375HD camera takes things a step farther, giving you a slim-profile license plate frame that doesn't call attention to itself and provides a simple, subtle mounting location. The clean, black design is a match for many car exteriors and it doesn't obscure your license plate, making it a solid choice in all U.S. states. Boyo uses a sturdy zinc metal frame for a long life and mounts the waterproof rear-view camera on an up & down swivel, so you can get exactly the picture you want.

Excellent picture

The Boyo VTL375HD is a cut above with its enhanced 1/4" Sony CCD sensor that gives you the best picture possible, even when it's dark outside, and it's a match for any car stereo with a standard composite video input and viewing screen. The package includes a composite video cable that runs from the camera to the video screen up front.

Note: A rear-view camera provides an additional view when reversing your vehicle. It is intended to be used in conjuction with your rear- and side-view mirrors to give a fuller picture of what's behind you. It is not intended as a replacement for your mirrors.

Features

Backup License Plate Camera: The Boyo VTL375HD is a backup camera that can be added to almost any vehicle with an aftermarket receiver that features an integrated video monitor and composite video camera input. The Boyo VTL375HD includes a backup camera with an integrated license plate mounting bracket, composite video cable, and power/ground harness.

Note: The Boyo VTL375HD is meant as a driving aid only; never solely rely on the backup camera. In addition to using the camera, always look behind and around you to make sure everything is clear.

1/3" CCD Image Sensor: The Boyo VTL375HD backup camera is equipped with a 1/3" color CCD image sensor with a 520 TV line horizontal resolution.

Wide Viewing Angle & Angle Adjustment: The VTL375HD backup camera offers a 170° wide viewing angle, so you can see more of what's behind you. You can also physically angle the camera up and down on the license plate bracket.

Waterproof (IP67): The Boyo VTL375HD features a waterproof (IP67) housing to protect it from the elements. It's totally protected against dust and protected against the effect of immersion between 15cm and 1m for the duration of 30 minutes.

Composite Video Output: The Boyo VTL375HD backup camera if fitted with a composite video connector (RCA) which makes it compatible with virtually any in-dash receiver with integrated video monitor and a composite video camera input. The total length of the composite video cable is 26'.

License Plate Frame Mounting: The Boyo VTL375HD backup camera features an integrated license plate frame which mounts around your vehicle's rear state license plate (mounting hardware is included). The VTL375HD's ultra-slim license plate frame is made of metal and is street legal in all parts of the United States.

Note: The Boyo VTL375HD is designed to work best on vehicles that have a license plate located at the center and above the rear bumper. If your vehicle has a plate location that is offset to the left side, right side or your plate is located under the bumper then the VTL375HD may not provide optimum performance.

The video talks about the Clarion. Where can I get that Clarion?
[ Faizan  Aug 14, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
We no longer have those available, but you can see the specific mount here: www.crutchfield.com/p_020CAU001/item.html The camera could have been one of two options which are discussed on the page for the frame. The overall process shown here is just about the same for this Boyo model; just don't have to mount the camera to the license plate frame nor wire any extra lights

It doesn't matter if it has Navigation or not. If it has a rear camera input and a touchscreen style display it should work.

Q
Was told there was a reverse image setting but I can't find it. Where is it?
[ Richard  May 08, 2018 ]
3 answers
A
This unit is just the camera. All the settings are adjusted in your head unit.
[ Charles  May 14, 2018 ]
A
I think the reverse image setting is controlled by the software of the connected device. For me it is a setting in the connected Pioneer radio.

Q
How is the camera powered/activated?
[ Jesse  Apr 30, 2018 ]
4 answers
A
It gets power through the fuse box, and is activated automatically when it goes into reverse.
[ Jim  Apr 30, 2018 ]
A
Easy way is connecting thought back up lights wire
[ WILLIAM  Apr 30, 2018 ]
A
In my case there was a power lead (12v) connected to the back of the stereo. The camera was activated by putting the vehicle in reverse. Tragically the stereo was stolen a week after I installed it. The camera is just a license plate frame, now.
[ Scott  Apr 30, 2018 ]
A
Either through the reverse light wire or if you elect to have it on constantly then through a constant hot wire. I used it in both applications.
[ Marcus  Apr 30, 2018 ]
Q
Would this work on a 2010 four runner? With the stock navigation screen?
[ V10isez  Aug 07, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.
[ Kenny  Aug 07, 2017 ]  Staff
Q
Can this be installed with the camera on the bottom of the license plate OR the top, interchangeably?
[ Paul  Jan 02, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
All of the information we have on the Boyo VTL375HD indicates it would need to be mounted with the camera on top. The camera's image sensor doesn't have the ability to "flip" orientation--so if the camera was mounted upside down, the image would appear upside down on your in-dash screen. If you would like to discuss further or explore alternate options, feel free to contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
im trying to figure out if this unit will work with the kenwood DDX373BT. this visability angle seems way better and sleeker design?
[ sklredhead5  Oct 12, 2016 ]
1 answer
A
I can't speak for the Kenwood DDX373BT , it worked great on my Pioneer SPH-DA120. I would assume that if the Kenwood sends 12 volts to the camera from the reverse switch it should work .The specification on the Kenwood should show whether it will accept a reverse camera.
[ LEE GEORGE  Oct 12, 2016 ]
Q
How well does this camera see at night?
[ Jason  Oct 02, 2016 ]
6 answers
A
The camera does well at night with the back up lights illuminating the area. I can see good images to about 5 feet which is good for backing up to a trailer or other object.
[ J Stone  Oct 31, 2016 ]
A
Works great if your vehicle has lights around your license plate!
[ WENDELL  Oct 03, 2016 ]
A
it's OK, it's grainy but very functional
[ Jim  Oct 03, 2016 ]
A
Very well as it uses the illumination from the vehicles backup lights. So the brighter your backup lights the better the camera view. It's also a very clear imaging camera. Recommended.
[ Steven  Oct 03, 2016 ]
A
Not bad at all. It's going to be fuzzy and a little shaded but the reverse lights provide enough light to see directly behind you.
[ Joseph  Oct 03, 2016 ]
A
Sorry Jason, but I can't be any help. I ended up returning the bu camera. I just wasn't sure it was what I wanted, I still don't know. Let me know what you go with and how you like it. Tommy Hutch
