The heavy-duty bundle

Boyo knows that smaller screens just don't cut it in large trucks and RVs when you're trying to back up. They've bundled a deluxe 7" dash monitor with their heavy-duty VTL17 HD rear-view camera for a convenient backup solution for any larger vehicle.

7" monitor

Once wired for power and video with the included wiring harness, Boyo's 7" monitor attaches conveniently to your windshield or dash with the included brackets, providing a crisp view that will be a big help when you're in reverse. An included reverse trigger wire ensures you'll only have to see a backup view when your vehicle is in reverse, and the monitor features two video inputs so you can add a front-view camera if needed.

Boyo includes a remote as well as a variety of picture settings for easy monitor customization.

A serious low-light cam

Boyo has affixed their VTB 301C camera to a durable, adjustable bracket that's ideal for large trucks and RVs. You can expect a detailed picture that stays clear in almost total darkness, while selectable parking lines and reverse image allow you to use this Boyo as a front camera as well. Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I rated four stars because of the outdated installation instructions. They were not intended for the equipment in the package. The camera works fine. The installation instructions were totally outdated and basically useless. What should have been a five minute plug and play took a call to the manufacturer to complete the installation.

Pros: Great picture. Dependable input from 40' away.

Cons: Field of view could be wider.

Very good product, wish the cable was a bit more durable, strongly suggest wrapping with split loom on cable to keep zip ties from damaging the cable. Crutchfield was awesome sent me a new intermediate cable as soon as I called to ask for one. We installed on top rear of 24 foot box truck works great.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very nice product, seems to be of high quality. The large display is very nice to have. My only complaint would be that the camera does not have a wide angle lens. I installed this on my 2016 F-150. The camera is placed on the rear bumper in front of the license plate and from the corner of the truck, you do not show up on camera for approximately 7.5ft.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed. Works great. Wife loves it. Opened box and it looked used, flush mount had one lock broke off but did not need that mount, front trim cracked and bent over so glued it in place. Crutchfield offered to replace but we kept it. Might buy one for my car too.

Pros: Can flip pic upside down and right or left.

Cons: Manual did not match cables sent but easy to match up.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed this on a 06 Ford Bus. Crutchfield doesn't have support for this vehicle. Boyo website had very limited instructions. I installed the bracket for the backup camera upside down & it was through-bolted. I wanted to mount the monitor upside down, but could not get the pic to flip. Played around with it & used the remote [which had no battery]. & flipped the pic. A note to DIYers if you only want the monitor on when in Reverse. Red wire to 12v / blue wire to Reverse / put monitor on V1 or V2 & turn off / then it comes on when in reverse. [you can hook blue & red to reverse, but you have a time lag] If the backup lines are in the wrong place, then you have to physically flip the backup camera. I don't drive the bus, but after a month is still working fine. It was nice to have the 65' camera cable. It should have came with a fuse & holder on the power line.

Pros: great camera & decent monitor for the price

Cons: very limited instructions install & functions

Features

7" LCD Monitor: The Boyo VTC307M includes a 7" LCD monitor with a resolution of 840 x 480 (384,000) and a contrast ratio of 350:1. The LCD monitor can be used as a front view or backup camera monitor, based on how you configure the included camera. The monitor can be mounted to your dash using the included self-adhesive mounting bracket or to your windshield using the included suction-cup mounting bracket. Both brackets allow you to adjust the LCD monitor for the best viewing angle. The monitor also comes with a sunshade to help block sunlight and reduce glare. In addition to its 7" LCD, the monitor also features a built-in speaker.

  • Camera Input w/ Auto Switching: The LCD monitor features a composite video jack for its camera input to connect the included camera. Thanks to Auto Switching, when you place your vehicle in reverse gear (requires connection to your vehicle's reverse lamp), the LCD monitor will automatically switch over to the backup camera's video signal so you can see what's behind you immediately.
  • Dual Video Inputs: In addition to the composite video camera input, the LCD monitor features two more composite video inputs for connecting a front dash camera (sold separately) and other external video source (sold separately).
Note: The Boyo VTC307M is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear view camera system when backing-up. In addition to using the rear view camera system, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

Heavy Duty Camera with Bracket: The included camera is equipped with a highly sensitive 1/4" color CMOS image sensor and a 170° wide-angle camera lens. The auto-iris lens automatically adjust to light conditions. The camera features a weatherproof (IP67) housing and a integrated mounting bracket that is designed to surface-mount to your vehicle. Once the camera and bracket are mounted, you can adjust the angle of the camera up or down.

  • Rear or Front View: The camera can be used as a backup or front view camera. By default, the camera will display a mirror image for backup use. If you want to use it as a front camera, cut the white wire loop labeled "mirror control" to get normal (non-mirror) image.
  • Built-in LEDs for Night Vision: The camera utilizes IR LEDs for super sensitive low lux performance, so you can see what's in front or behind you better at night, up to 26.25'.
  • Parking Guidelines: The camera provides parking assist lines on the screen of the included monitor. These parking lines are there to assist you when backing up into a parking space. There are two vertical lines which help you judge the left and right edges of the parking space and your vehicle. There are also three color-coded (green/yellow/red) horizontal lines that are used to distinguish how close you are getting to the end of the parking spot. If you do not need and want to remove the parking guidelines, then simply cut the blue wire loop labeled "Parking Line Control".
Note: The Boyo VTC307M is meant as a back-up aid only; never solely rely on the rear view camera system when backing-up. In addition to using the rear view camera system, always look behind you to make sure everything is clear when backing up your vehicle.

Remote Control: The Boyo VTC307M comes with an IR remote control for wireless operation of the 7" LCD monitor. Controls include Power, Menu Selection, Video Input Selection, and Mute. The remote is powered by a CR2025 3V battery (not included).

Unfortunately I don't know. I haven't tried, but the manual doesn't say anything about recording. [ Brian  Jan 17, 2019 ]
No [ Travis  Jan 16, 2019 ]
Yes. The supplied mounting bracket works on both vertical and horizontal mounting surfaces. [ Ryan  Nov 29, 2017 ]  Staff
The monitor has an on/off power switch. If you don't want the backup camera to have constant power, you would have to wire it through some type of a switch (like a rocker or toggle switch). [ Mark  Nov 19, 2017 ]
Do you mean the boat itself or the trailer? If it is the boat, I would say it would be on all the time because you would probably have to hotwire the trigger wire (could install a toggle switch once the trigger wire is hot wired) For a trailer you would have to do the same thing or run a reverse wire from the vehicle. Hope this helps, it is a great camera setup. [ Macon  Nov 18, 2017 ]
Yes it can work. Your able to turn the monitor on and off with or without the reverse wire hooked up. [ David  Nov 18, 2017 ]
