I have 9 of these speakers, all ordered from Crutchfield. I use 5 in a living room as part of a simple 5.1 surround system for TV and casual music listening. I also use 4 in a separate, full blown, professionally done home theater room as my in ceiling Dolby Atmos channels. The performance of the speakers in the living room is excellent for in ceiling speakers. I am totally pleased with their performance. In the theater room, when using these as Atmos channels, I am really, really impressed. Performance for this application is awesome. I was somewhat doubtful that these would improve my 7.2 system very much. But I thought I would try it. I was wrong. It made a huge difference. The only reason I give 4 instead of 5 starts is because upon receipt of the speakers, I discovered that 3 of them had tweeter horns that had become detached and were hanging by the wires. Crutchfield offered to replace them when they were back in stock again. Instead of waiting, I reattached them and snapped the collar back in place that is intended to hold them in their intended location. I tested them and they worked fine after I did a little first aid.
Pros: Audio quality Flexible aiming options Ease of installation
Cons: Packaging could be improved. Assembly method should be able to withstand a little transportation shock without coming apart.

The speakers have been great for Dolby Atmos. The sound effects coming from these speakers matches the tone of the Klipsch 250 surrounds. The effect that is achieved with these speakers is worth the expense. It creates a completely new experience by putting you in the middle of the action. You are in a bubble of sound. It makes the movie experience much more entertaining and just plain fun. Puts a smile on my face. When I opened the box I could not get over the build quality.
Pros: Build Quality Good match for other reference premiere line products. Woofer and tweeter can be directed towards listening position.

Crutchfield came through within three business days. Got 4 of these for in-ceiling Dolby Atmos setup. Really well built and designed. You can actually aim these toward your listening area. Went up easy with the locking arms. The covers just hold perfect. Excellent sound from my Rx-a3050. Just can only say WOW about them
Pros: Go up easy. Sound great.
Cons: Not a thing

Great addition to my home theater setup. I'm running these as my rear speakers in my basement and they get the job done perfectly. I installed them in the ceiling with the optional Speaker Box Enclosure, ME-800C. Unfortunately Crutchfield does not sell the enclosure, but I was able to find it online easily. I can't say how they perform as stand alone speakers, but I'm sure they are fine for that as well. I do occasionally play music through a multi channel stereo setting and they don't give me any issues.
Pros: Easy Install, clean design, nice price point.

Great sound, super easy to install, lay very flat against the ceiling making them practically invisible
Pros: Excellent sound, movies come to life
Cons: My ceiling is white, if it were colored, I would want to paint the grill and it wasn't clear from any of the instructions if that is possible

The speakers themselves are very easy to install and sound great. It was an awesome way to add surround sound to a space that wasn't configured for wall attachments or freestanding speakers. CAVEAT: If you do not have an attic for running wire and you haven't opened up your walls or ceiling before, I'd recommend you pay for a pro to install it -- time is money and a pro will save you time and frustration.
Pros: Easy install; Look great; sound great; aimable
Cons: For the speakers themselves - none. The con is that you have to run wire in the walls.

The speakers were very easy to install, and the magnetic grill covers are a great innovation. I really like the swivel woofer and tweeter on this speaker as well. Sound is great, and they can handle a lot of power.
Pros: Easy install. Magnetic grill covers. Swivel woofer and tweeter.

I bought these as front speakers to replace an old set of Bose 301s. They sound better than the bookshelf speakers hands down. The music quality is phenomenal and the tv/BD sound is awesome. I can't wait to get another set for the rear channel.
Pros: Easy install, excellent sound
Cons: Bass response is OK, although that is what a subwoofer is for and not why I purchased these speakers

I used two of these for a large room paired with a sub woofer and they filled the room quite nicely. Good speaker construction and the installation hardware seemed to work well. I like the idea of the built in tweeter and mid-bass level switches , however it did sound a bit muffled when tuned down. Great mids and highs and the adjustable directional tweeter adds a nice touch. Lows could use a bit more punch, I would recommend a sub woofer for stereo or surround applications.
Pros: mids and highs, adjustable tweeter, installation hardware
Cons: Could use a little more low-mid bass

When you read the product description of most high-end ceiling speakers, it seems many are intended for use as part as of a home theater surround sound; my interest was simply to have good sound playing from a Sonos Amp. The sound from the 5800's was absolutely clear but just didn't have enough bass for our liking. I would imagine these being the best choice if I were looking for rear surround speakers and wanted the clearest dialogue and high sounds while the sub and big front speakers carry the bass.
