If you like rock music these speakers are great I suggest you see Steve Guttenberg's review on Youtube. I never owned a pair of expensive speakers, what a difference, worth every penny.

Music like I've never heard it

Simply stunning. Coming from Klipsch home theater speakers, I've been listening on Reference series for years, and can't imagine not owning Klipsch speakers. However compared to the HT line, these are an entirely different experience. It's music like I've never heard it. From haunting performances by Itzhak Perlman to hip-hop to the down-home rock these things seem to be made for, it's all glorious. I haven't found a genre they don't excel at. All this and I'm still using a HT receiver to drive them. There's still more to discover. The sound stage is as wide as my room. I will say the lacking bass of previous generations made me a little nervous. The ported design of the IVs solve this problem. These drive bass the way it was mixed. It's tight and pure but not deeply over-resonant. A sub can certainly be added at 60-90hz, but it's not necessary. I have a Klipsch 10" sub and I've actually turned it off. I saw a review that said something like "these aren't speakers for audiophiles, they're for music lovers." Couldn't be more spot on.

Klipsch Heresy IV

I think that these are very good speakers; sort of legendary. My purchase was complicated by the fact that one of them was faulty when it arrived. And when I had them in context in the room, they were brighter than I expected. So I will turn this review of the speakers into a review of Crutchfield. For the above reasons, I decided to return them and purchase speakers more appropriate for "classical" music and am thoroughly impressed by how collaborative Crutchfield was in taking them back. I have no complaints; I have complimented everyone concerned for being helpful and have ordered other components with confidence.

Pros: Dynamite speakers

Cons: Too bright for my taste in music and one of the speakers was faulty.

I'm liking these speakers alot

I have had my Heresy IVs for a month now and am enjoying them. I moved up from Klipsch Kg-3s. What a difference. The highs, mid-range and bass are more accurate and fast. I drive them with a Yamaha receiver with 80 watts rms , not an expensive power supply but they sound great . There is plenty of bass that is punchy yet controlled. I do own a SVS SB-3000 sub which gets the low end down to sub sonic performance. I'd say you can easily get by without a subwoofer. The Walnut cabinets are beautiful and add a bit of class to my listening room. These are not your Grandparents speakers however, they kick butt and take names in the 2020s.

Pros: Efficient Sound great with Jazz, Classical and any well produced and engineered recording. Beautiful to look at.

Cons: None so far
