High-powered commercial in-ceiling speakers
The IC-800-T speakers each have an 8" woofer, plus a 1" titanium compression driver built into Klipsch's famous Tractrix® horn — a flared opening that helps control the way the sound comes out.
The speaker has a Tractrix horn-shaped port, too, for punchy bass response. You can really crank it up, thanks to power tap settings at 12.5, 25, 50, and 100 watts. It puts out a robust 117dB at peak power, so you can be sure customers hear music and vital announcements.

Product Research
Features
Overview: The Klipsch IC-800-T is a 2-way in-ceiling speaker featuring a coaxially mounted 8" woofer and a 1" compression tweeter in a steel backcan. The speaker features transformer tap settings for 70, and 100 volt operation along with an 6.5Ω bypass. The IC-800-T is ideal for hotels, restaurants, airports, churches, shopping malls and similar applications.
Drivers: The IC-800-T features an 8" woofer with a 1" titanium diaphragm compression driver on a 3.5" round XT Tractrix horn, delivering a smooth response with constant directivity, all mounted in a ported steel backcan enclosure. This combination delivers high efficiency and performance across the operating bandwidth with a frequency response of 49 Hz to 20 kHz (-4db). Able to handle up to 100 watts RMS and with a sensitivity of 92 dB, the IC-800-T can provide clear powerful sound with a coverage angle of up to75˚.
Enclosure: The IC-800-T is housed in a steel backcan with a Tractrix ported ABS front baffle. The Tractrix port helps provide deeper, fuller bass with less compression and distortion while adding musicality with a bass response down to 49 Hz (-4 dB). The speaker includes a painted steel-mesh grill that can be painted to match the room color. The IC-800-T enclosure carries both UL2043 and UL1480 UL certifications.
Mounting: Installation of the speaker is done blind-mount using a rotating cam mounting system. Four cam-assemblies come pre-mounted around the perimeter of the speaker, and once the speaker is slid into the ceiling opening 4 Phillips-head screws on the front of the speaker are tightened, expanding out the mounting arms providing tension on the backside of the mounting surface. The IC-800-T requires a 12.5" diameter cutout and at least 12.625" of mounting depth. They can also be installed in drop-ceilings using the included tile bridge mounting hardware. An additional attachment point is provided on the back of the speaker for an additional safety line.
70/100 Volt: The IC-800-T can be used in either 70 or 100 volt applications and includes a 6.5Ω bypass selection. A tap selection dial on the front of the speaker baffle allows for easy configuration without having to remove the speaker from the ceiling. The following tap settings are available:
- 70 Volt: 12.5W, 25W, 50W, and 100W
- 100 Volt: 25W, 50W, and 100W
- 6.5Ω
Terminals: A 4-terminal barrier strip is provided for wiring connections. One terminal provides the positive connection for 70 and 100 volt applications, one for the positive if using as a 6.5Ω speaker, and a common negative terminal (the fourth terminal is unused). Each terminal can accommodate speaker wire up to 12 gauge in size. A metal cover-plate with cable-clamp are provided to protect the terminal strip.
