Features
Overview: The Klipsch IK-650-C installation kit offers increased mounting flexibility for all of Klipsch residential in-ceiling speakers that employ a 6.5" woofer. This installation kit also fits Klipsch's commercial IC-5T in-ceiling speakers. This installation kit design incorporates two color-coded brackets for easy speaker size identification. A flat side with a raised wall allows it to be mounted directly to a joist, making it much easier to align the speakers with other items in the ceiling. The kit also comes with four perforated metal wings that easily fasten to the studs via screws, staples or nails. Ribbed for increased rigidity, these wings enable a kit to span up to 24 inches easily. Painted white for easy marking and placement, these metal wings will fold around the edge of the studs if necessary.

I am building a new home and had these installed where my rear surrounds will go. For my installation, the plastic part was screwed to a ceiling truss, and a single strap was screwed to the opposite truss. Very simple, and now I know that the drywallers will do a great job.
