Features

10" Woofer: The Klipsch Reference series R-10SW powered sub is fitted with a powerful 10" copper-spun IMG (injected molded graphite) front-firing woofer for deep bass. The copper-spun IMG woofer is exceptionally light while being extremely rigid, providing remarkable low frequency response with minimal cone breakup and distortion. The front-firing woofer gives you greater placement flexibility than a down-firing woofer.

150 Watt Amp: The Klipsch R-10SW powered sub employs an all-digital 150 watt RMS (300 watt Peak) amplifier for high efficiency and dynamic bass performance.

MDF Cabinet: The R-10SW is housed in a durable MDF cabinet and finished with a brushed black polymer veneer. The MDF enclosure is rigid and protects against unwanted vibration and distortion.

Rear Firing Port: The R-10SW's enclosure uses a bass reflex design with a rear-firing port for greater efficiency and bigger bass.

Controls: The level control, low pass crossover, and phase control allow you to blend the powered subwoofer's low-frequency tones with your system's other speakers, as well as establish the ideal level of bass.

  • Level Control: The level control adjusts the subwoofer's volume relative to the rest of your home audio system. After the sub's level control has been set, the volume control of your AV receiver will be the volume control for both the Klipsch powered subwoofer and your connected loudspeakers.
  • Low Pass Crossover: The variable lowpass crossover is adjustable from 40-120Hz. The crossover point chosen determines where low bass frequencies are "handed-off" from your AV system's loudspeakers to the Klipsch powered subwoofer. Set the crossover point based on the size of your systems' main left/right speakers.
  • Phase Control: This control is used to acoustically match the subwoofer's output to your main speakers. Select the position either 0˚ or 180˚ in which your subwoofer has more output at the listening position.

LFE/RCA Inputs: The Klipsch R-10SW powered subwoofer is equipped with a pair of line-level RCA-type inputs to connect the sub to your receiver or integrated amplifier.

  • LFE Input: Most of today's AV receivers have a line-level subwoofer output (LFE). If your receiver has an LFE output, connect one end of a subwoofer cable (sold separately) to this output and connect the other end of the cable into the powered subwoofer's line-level input labeled "LEFT/LFE". Set the powered sub's built-in crossover to "LFE" with this type of connection.
  • Stereo Input: In absence of a subwoofer (LFE) output on your receiver, as an alternative hookup, you can connect Left & Right channel pre-amp outputs from the receiver to both the "Left/LFE" and "Right" inputs on the powered subwoofer.

LED Indicator: The front-mounted LED power indicator lets you know when the sub is powered on or off. The LED will light green when the powered subwoofer is on and receiving a signal. If the LED is dark and not lit, the powered sub is off.

Auto Power On/Off: The powered subwoofer will automatically turn On when it senses an audio signal. It will automatically go into "Standby mode" after 15-20 minutes with no audio signal. You can also choose to turn the powered sub On or Off manually from the rear-switch on the back.

Placement: Klipsch powered subwoofers are designed to reproduce deep bass and deliver the impact that makes your movies and music come alive. For optimum performance, place your subwoofer in a corner of the room on the same wall as your front channel speakers. Please note that room placement can have a dramatic effect on the performance of your powered subwoofer. Corner placement, as suggested above, will increase the amount of bass output, while placing the subwoofer along the middle of a wall, or out in the room will decrease the amount of bass output.

Q
Can i connect this sub to my Klipsch Rsb 11 soundbar?
[ jeremy  Nov 20, 2018 ]

A
I've never owned a sound bar, But if the sound bar has a low-level audio output (also called "line out"), you would connect this output to the sub-woofer input.
[ Charles  Nov 26, 2018 ]
A
Sorry, your Klipsch RSB-11 uses a dedicated wireless subwoofer included in the RSB kit. I do not see a way for you to use an alternate subwoofer since the RSB-11 does not have output connectors. The Klipsch R-10SW is a wired subwoofer with dual inputs (single input is fine too), not wireless.

Q
How do you set up with bookshelf (Klipsch) speakers?
[ wayne  Jul 16, 2018 ]
1 answer
A
You need a receiver with a subwoofer output. You connect the subwoofer with a cable connected to subwoofer out on the receiver and connect the bookshelf speakers with speaker wiring to the receivers main speaker output.

Q
Does this subwoofer come with a remote control?
[ Fred  Apr 05, 2018 ]

A
No, it doesn't come with a remote control. Most of the time a sub-woofer is set-and-forget, however. Once you get it dialed in, you probably won't ever need to touch the controls again.
[ James  Apr 05, 2018 ]
A
No remote control. Manual controls are on the back. Has an auto switch which adjusts automatically if you choose to use

No it does not include a remote. It connects to the sub output on your receiver. So Level is controlled by your receiver.

Q
How do you ground this subwoofer to prevent humming? My receiver and cable have ground loop connections but I don't see one on the sub.
[ Ryan  May 25, 2017 ]
1 answer
A
The cable I am using has no grounds. It is just plugged straight into the CFE inputs on the receiver and the sub. I have had no problems. I think my receiver also has a hookup for a ground, but I have nothing attached to it. You might try a different cable with no ground wire, or just unhook the ground wire both places, but that is just a guess. I did struggle a little initially with the setup with left/right vs CFE, but I went CFE on rec to CFE (which I think was the left input on the sub) and after I did that receiver setup with the receiver mike, it worked like a charm.

Will it work in an open gazebo ?

I really don't think so. In an outdoor setting, this speaker would soon be ruined. Check out Crutchfields big selection of outdoor speakers on line. Daniel L

Q
What Klipsch subwoofer speaker model should I buy that will accommodate the wireless adapter that Klipsch sells? I want to place my Klipsch subwoofer across the opposite side of my stereo setup.
[ Jonathan  Nov 12, 2016 ]
1 answer
A
Thanks for your question. For information on selecting the best sub I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to help determine the differences between the models to confirm compatibility and help you make the best choice for your system.

Q
Been searching but no luck. What is the difference between the Klipsch r-10sw vs sw-110? The biggest difference I have seen is the front vs back port and the lower range of the frequency. Is there a feature(s) that put this one above the other? Thank you!
[ Jason  Apr 18, 2016 ]
2 answers
A
Hi Jason, I have been using the R-10SW for a couple of years now in a room that is 17' x 15' and I am very happy with this powered sub woofer. Outside of what your budget permits I would base my choice on where I am going to place my sub woofer. If you must place your sub close to a wall than a sub that is ported out the front should be considered. Most manuals will tell you to stay a certain distance from a wall if your sub is ported out the rear. Jim
[ JAMES S  Apr 19, 2016 ]
A
I have both. The sw-110 is in the living room, the r-10sw is in the theatre room. The r-10sw has a port in the back and seems to deliver a bigger, fuller sound. They are both driven by Yamaha home theatre receivers. If 50.00 bucks is no object I would recommend the r-10sw. hope this helps.

Q
What is the impedance of this subwoofer?
[ chip  Mar 01, 2015 ]
3 answers
A
The inputs to this speaker are "line-level" (RCA jacks), not an amplified signal from you amp. See "Specs" tab at /R-10SW/details at the manufacturers website
[ Jeffrey  Mar 02, 2015 ]
A
TheThe doThe literature doesn't specify that I can find but I suspect it's 8 ohms. It's powered so I'm not sure it matters since there's no way to daisy-chain it to another speaker. Btw, this unit really helps solidify the bottom and the gain is easily varied by easily reaching the control on the back without moving anything so you can adjust according to your program material.
[ Richard  Mar 02, 2015 ]
A
8 Ohms.
