Overview

Our take on the Klipsch Reference R-10SWi

Klipsch knows how much fun it is to have your own home theater. They also know that running a long cable from your receiver to your sub can be challenging. So they've equipped the R-10SWi with wireless signal transmission — this power-packed sub can deliver deep, impactful bass anywhere you have a power outlet.

High-quality bass made simple

Klipsch knows how much fun it is to have your own home theater. They also know that running a long cable from your receiver to your sub can be challenging. So they've equipped the R-10SWi with wireless signal transmission — this power-packed sub can deliver deep, impactful bass anywhere you have a power outlet.

Klipsch R-12SWi Reference wireless powered subwoofer

The wireless transmitter plugs into your receiver's sub output, and sends high-quality bass across the room.

How it works

This sub's "secret sauce" is how Klipsch transmits low-frequency effects. The included wireless transmitter plugs into the sub output on the back of your receiver (sometimes labeled LFE). Simply plug the transmitter and the sub into an A/C power source and you're ready to rock.

Wireless signal transmission offers flexible placement

There are two huge benefits to using a wireless subwoofer. Not having to snake a long sub cable across the floor keeps kids, pets, and gear safe. And having placement flexibility for your sub can significantly improve your system's bass response. We recommend trying your sub out in a few different spots around the room to see where you get the best performance.

I've been happy with other Klipsch speakers I have in two surround sound audio systems, but this one perfectly does the intended job (replacing 30 year old sub). Good solid performance and adjustability to conform to desired levels and room acoustics.

Had a Kilipsch subwoofer that we believe was taken out of service by a lightening storm after 12 years. The new subwoofer has the same great sound and is a little smaller. The one great thing is the new subwoofer is wireless. This makes placement so much easier and noncords. Thank you Crutchfield for your sound advice. Another great purchase from you guys.

I am not an audiophile by any stretch. Recently purchased the 10SWI to complete my 5.1 system. Was not sure what to expect but the subwoofer adds amazing depth to the sound. Between unpackaging and hooking up it took all of about 7 minutes. The wireless subwoofer synced automatically to the control module. Makes a real difference.

George from Union Hall, VA on 2/7/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nothing to dislike about this wireless woofer! Even at low volume it replicates everything the producer put on the recording. Movies are room enveloping with my modest 5.1 system and the wireless hookup lets my wife re-arrange the furniture with several options. There's plenty of adjustments and everyone knows how great it is the deal with the folks at Crutchfield.

Good sub and buying experience

Bob from Sioux Falls, SD on 2/1/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The subwoofer was delivered in good condition, on the date promised. So far I have been very impressed with it and Crutchfield. I have never had a active subwoofer before, it definitely adds to the listening experience, especially watching action movies with sound affects. It was easy to set up in conjunction with my Yamaha RX-V775 receiver. I researched subwoofers, and while I am a Polk guy, Klipsch sub's are more reliable and this appeared to be the best "bang for the buck" in Klipsch's product line. I have it in a large family room and it generates more than enough bass. So far, very happy with the purchasing process at Crutchfield and my new subwoofer.

Pros: Best "bang for the buck" Easy to set up Flexible subwoofer solution, works with either hardwire or wireless configuration

Cons: None

RC from Cheraw, SC on 1/18/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this to round out the low end on my 2-channel music-only system. I was skeptical that "only" a 10 inch sub could make much difference. However, with the Klipsch RP280F speakers and Yamaha RN803 receiver, this really completes my system. Anything larger would have been overkill.

Pros: Low end to spare

Cons: None

Be careful not to scare the dogs with this thing!

BRUCE from Apollo Beach, FL on 1/5/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this for my home theater as a 2nd SW on the opposite side of the room where wired connection was not an option, and the wireless functionality is fantastic. This is one monstrous, powerful, house-rattling beast of a SW. The build quality is amazing. The sound set-up and adjustment is very straightforward, and it sounds just great.

Pros: Build quality, wireless functionality, fine-tuning of sound.

Cons: It's pretty big (but that's not necessarily a con!)

Wounderful addition to existing Def Tech BookShelf SM45 system

C. C. from Ithaca, NY on 12/9/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just bought this R-10SWi WiFi sub to couple with our Definite Tech book shelf speakers SM45 in office room via Polk Audio Omni A1 Play-Fi amp (which has a sub out). We have used the Def Tech SM45 to stream Pandora all the time during work. The addition of the Klipsch R-10SWi sub via WiFi really improve the listening pleasure due to the extension of the frequency beyond the low end of the SM45 speakers. The sub has more than enough power, and I have to use low vol so it won't overpower the SM45 speakers. The base is thundering, but a little bit too booming, wish it would be tighter. Overall, it is a wonderful addition to our existing Def Tech SM45 bookshelf speakers in term of sound quality and frequency range. Would definitely recommend it as an addition to music listening. We have a SVS sub dedicated to movies and Pandora streaming in the family room.

Pros: Wonderful thunderous base quality Excellent complementary to our Def Tech bookshelf SM45 speakers Small footprint with wife approval factor Very easy WiFi setup to link to our ASUS ac router, just plug in and it recognizes immediately.

Cons: essentially none, just wish the base would be tighter.

Don from Warner Robins, GA on 12/3/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Revamping our surround system and added this wireless sub along with the wired 12" model. Together they complement each other. Baught specifically to be able to add to any spot in our living room, since the 12" is near the tv stand. The wireless function has been flawless and the sub sounds amazing. Still in a break in period so I expect it to sound even better if it's possible. The Klipsch suns out power my last one which was an Onkyo 10" HTIAB set up. Had to turn these down to keep pictures on wall during movies. Truly spectacular.

Pros: Wireless has been flawless. Sound is rich and deeper than previous sub

Cons: None to speak Need to keep walls from rattling The inner kid in me giggles every time I use them.

Christopher from Chicago, IL on 12/2/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this for a formal living room setup to support 2 Polk 70-RT in-ceiling speakers for only music purposes (no tv/movies). It was a great deal for the sale price. The wireless works great. My stereo receiver is in a media cabinet in the kitchen and the sub is on the far side of another room behind walls. I would guess about 25/30 feet. The sub itself is a little muddy and I have to keep the gain turned down to about 2/3 to avoid the over boomy sound. This is not going to be high end sound if that is what you are looking for (as compared to my theater). However, in my application totally acceptable. If you are on a budget this is a great option, but don't pay full price. For the price you can find a much better sub (perhaps not wireless), but for this price point it's a great value. Last note, build quality and aesthetics are nice. It is a smaller size and easy to tuck away to avoid being intrusive in a formal living room.

Pros: Wireless, on sale price, build quality.

Cons: Music a little bit muddy for my taste.

Great sound, great service

Paul from Gainesville, FL on 12/2/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Everything have have ever purchased through Crutchfield, every sales support member have been uniformly outstanding. The new subwoofer is amazing, it is a replacement, so all 6 of my system speakers are now Klipsch. I could not be happier. When I set up the new subwoofer, it was so easy. I then ran the acoustic optimization on my slightly older Yamaha receiver, and the subwoofer kind of vanished. So I just got off tech support with Crutchfield, and the guy, and I'm so sorry I don't remember his name, guided me through adjusting the subwoofer to get it back on track. So now everything sounds sweet and powerful. I just want to reiterate, the products are outstanding, prices are great, and the service before, during, and after the sale is awesome. Thanks so much.

Pros: evertyhing, and the wireless capability of this subwoofer enhances everything.

Cons: I didn't get it sooner...!

Bob from Hewitt, TX on 11/28/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm a long time Klipsch fan, and this is my second subwoofer from Klipsch. The R-10SWi is in a relatively small room so I didn't need a large sub and this one works great. I am using it with a wired connection, but, I wanted the option to go wirelessly if needed. I let my home theatre receiver run it's speaker calibration and setup all of the speakers in my 5.1 setup, including the sub, and I'm pleased with the overall balance.

Pros: Great sound, good build quality, well packaged.

I had a Sony Active Subwoofer (SA-WM20) from decade ago with only 8" woofer it sounded so good with music so I thought I would upgrade it to the latest Sony SACS9 model which has a 10" woofer and 115 Watt. At the same time I also wanted to try out this Klipsch R-10SWi subwoofer since it has a wireless connection. When I placed all three together and tested them side by side the winner came out. The old Sony was still unbelievable good with a very deep and clear bass, it's excellent for music. The new Sony (SACS9) however seems under power even with a 10" woofer and the bass was not as deep as the decade old model with 8" woofer. I was quite surprise!! But when came to the Klipsch R-10SWi it's undeniable that the bass is not only deep it's very powerful as well. For music I think the 10" woofer sounds better than a 12" model. I use these Subwoofers mainly in a small church environment and they're all powerful enough. Even the old Sony with only 8" woofer when I cranked up the volume the whole place is rumbling. With the Klipsch I would have to keep the volume very low or it would just shake the place like crazy! I hope the Klipsch would last like my old Sony it's still looking like new and working flawlessly.

Pros: Wireless, deep and powerful bass at this size. Great for music and movie.

Cons:

Great bass, easy setup, excellent WiFi range

This is a fantastic litte sub! Setup is super easy. My sub is about 30 feet away from my receiver and it still has perfect wireless range. The sound quality is surprisingly good. It complements my zone 2 stereo speakers perfectly

I have the Klipsch RP 15PM bookshelf speakers (which sound great on there own) and like many others wanted more bass, It easly fills that void. I highly recommend these for anyone that needs or wants x-tra bass They look and work Great. no complaints here.

Pros: Quick and easy to set up Love the wireless option allowing you to place anywhere

Cons: None

Works well. Adds depth to system. I used patch cables instead of the wireless option. As with previous speaker additions, I needed to set the speaker levels manually on my receiver instead of keeping its auto calibration.

Pros: Plenty of power.

Cons:

Great bass sound.

David from St Petersburg, FL on 11/20/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted to add some low end fill to my more than adequate system. I considered Polk Audio to match my speakers but was hooked by the great price for the Klipsch unit. Have to admit that the copper colored speaker was an attraction - probably more marketing by Klipsch than anything else. Does exactly what I hoped with my Yamaha AS-301 amp; lower frequencies are greatly enhanced without being annoying (after careful modulation of the gain control). Crutchfield is my go-to for auto and home listening needs.

Pros: Well built unit with great low frequency fill-in with careful adjustment of controls.

Cons: Hard to read level control markings on back of unit.

It is absolutely sublime!

Pros: The wireless pairing is completely stable. Sound is very clear.

Cons: 1) Instructions were vague on how to pair the speaker with wireless transmitter. But I when I pressed the button the units paired quickly. 2) The power and phase switches on the back are a bit small and feel rather fragile. I would prefer to have more substantial rocker type switches. 3) There is a faint hum once the speaker is powered on, but it is inaudible as I step away. Didn't hear this on non-wireless version.

Excellent sub! Perfect wireless.

ROGER from Santa Rosa, CA on 8/6/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this for use with a home theater system. I do not like wireless home theater speakers because one needs to find power for them which defeats the purpose of "wireless". However, since a sub can be put in much more flexible locations than any other part of the surround sound system, this works perfectly. It is probably too much for the room we have but the sound is perfect. I really like having the easily adjustable crossover setting and the volume settings. The automatic on/off works like a dream and it is comforting to know it is not on all of the time. I am very impressed with the wireless connection. We have had wireless subs before which lose lock once a week, cause some interesting and terrifying sounds, and require lots of fiddling to get them relocked. This sub locked in the first time we plugged it in and we have had no troubles since--about a mont with lots of "on" and "off" of the system--very reliable, great sound, and by golly, it looks really cool. Even my wife was OK with that part.

Pros: Looks great Klipsch sound that has been their reputation since the very beginning Crossover adjustments are great Can knock the house down if you want it to Wireless link has been flawless

Cons: none

Added a second Sub!

Dennis from Napa, CA on 8/4/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Once again Crutchfield advisors are the best! I had just finished updating my surround system with a new center, and rear speakers. I already had an Infinity sub, located at the front corner of living room, saw this sub on sale, called Crutchfield to see if I could run a second sub in rear corner of room for a fuller theatre sound. Wade immediately recommended adding the speaker, said room size was large enough to handle additional bass. I have had the speaker in now for about six weeks and after making needed adjustments to amp for the extra sub both movies, and music are far more enhanced. It's amazing what a second sub will do for listening enjoyment, Having it wireless made it a no brainer, no running extra wires under floors or carpet! If you don't have a sub now, this would be the one to get, gives you options of where to place since it's wireless. Great speaker!!

Pros: Great sound, easy adjustments, easy set-up, and a fantastic price!!!!

Cons: None, should have purchased this when I completed my surround system.

Purchased this Klipsch Reference R-10SWi to replace an entry level JBL sub in our Onkyo RZ800 receiver system (all other channels are Klipsch too). Wireless connectivity was a breeze. Recalibrated the system using the Onkyo microphone and voila, rich deep base that rumbles the floor. At this price point, I don't think I could have gotten a better sub. And the wireless connectivity is incredibly useful. The bass is there and punchy when you need to be but never boomy, The sub enhances your music and movies without over powering them.

Pros: Wireless, incredibly affordable, great sound but not over-powering.

Cons: No HDMI input. My Onkyo receiver prefers an HDMI connector for the sub. Fortunately, I was able to use the LINE-OUT jack to connect it.

Excellent Bass - easy set up!

Robert from Maryland on 6/5/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

My home theater system was missing some "punch". Even with albums or normal TV shows, there was a lack of depth. I paired the R-10SWi with my R-25C center channel, R-15M front speakers and R-14M rear speakers. The addition of the R-10SWi was night and day from previous sound. As I did not have any more space in my cable runs, wireless was the preferred method of adding a subwoofer. Set up was very easy. Once powered on, the speaker and transmitter paired/synced quickly and then it was booming! I had the initial settings where recommended, but had to back the gain and low pass off a bit to avoid it having too much bass. Due to the room layout, I was unable to place the sub in the vicinity of the front speakers and it is placed in the center of the back wall between the R-14Ms. As there are two recliners on either side, the bass is more pronounced. I plan to try it out with a few albums and see how the performance is with classical, jazz, rock and blues. Side note: The instructions don't identify when to plug the sub and transmitter into the power source, but I figured out you do it when ready and they sync themselves. So far, I'm a very satisfied customer!

Pros: Easy set up and adjusting to personal preferences.

Cons: Instructions don't tell you when to apply power. Easy enough to figure out, but that one detail should have been included by Klipsch.

The Klipsch Reference R-10SWi is a great performer for its size out performing other subs I have owned. The sound is tight and true producing little if any distortion even at levels that I would not normally play. This sub works well for both my jazz collection as well alt rock and most other forms of music in my rather eclectic musical enjoyment including my favorite symphonies. Curt from St. Michaels, MD on 12/29/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I acquired this sub to replace an obsolete, non-functioning, low-end Polk wireless subwoofer. The Klipsch is rated at 50% more powerful than the one I replaced and is quite a noticeable improvement. I understand that because it is wireless, the output is slightly degraded from an equivalent wired alternative might be but because of where I wanted to locate the sub, wireless was my only alternative without having to fish wires through through walls, etc., etc. I am not an audiophile but the addition of a subwoofer does seem to round out the overall sound clarity which obviously is a nice benefit.

Good bass, great price, high quality finish

Chris from Fairfax, VA on 12/11/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I took a chance on a product that hadn't been reviewed and thus far I am pleased with the purchase. The R-10SWi provides deep, if not a bit punchy, bass for a mid-range setup. The quality and finish is very good and at this price and the integrated wireless capability was a priority for my setup. I'm using crossover settings supplied at my amp at around 120Hz. My only complaint at this time is that the sub-woofer does not appear to always turn on automatically once my receiver/amp is powered on. Sometimes it works and other times it does not. It also would have been nice if the included wireless kit had a longer cable from amp to transmitter; this is a minor complaint.

Pros: - Good bass, if not a bit punchy - Integrated wireless works well, no problems there - Great finish and high-quality build

Cons: - Auto on/off does not always appear to work

Features

Wireless Receiver & Transmitter: The Klipsch Reference series R-10SWi powered sub features a built-in wireless receiver and comes with an external wireless transmitter that plugs into your AV receiver's LFE output. Thanks to this 2.4GHz wireless connectivity, your receiver can now send its LFE audio signal to the R-10SWi powered sub wirelessly (no subwoofer cable required between receiver and sub). Wireless range is approximately 30' at CD-quality level.

Note: Both, the powered sub & wireless transmitter will require AC power.

10" Woofer: The Klipsch Reference series R-10SWi powered sub is fitted with a powerful 10" copper-spun IMG (injected molded graphite) front-firing woofer for deep bass. The copper-spun IMG woofer is exceptionally light while being extremely rigid, providing remarkable low frequency response with minimal cone breakup and distortion. The front-firing woofer gives you greater placement flexibility than a down-firing woofer.

150 Watt Amp: The Klipsch R-10SWi powered sub employs an all-digital 150 watt RMS (300 watt Peak) amplifier for high efficiency and dynamic bass performance.

MDF Cabinet: The R-10SWi is housed in a durable MDF cabinet and finished with a brushed black polymer veneer. The MDF enclosure is rigid and protects against unwanted vibration and distortion.

Rear Firing Port: The R-10SWi's enclosure uses a bass reflex design with a rear-firing port for greater efficiency and bigger bass.

Controls: The level control, low pass crossover, and phase control allow you to blend the powered subwoofer's low-frequency tones with your system's other speakers, as well as establish the ideal level of bass.

  • Level Control: The level control adjusts the subwoofer's volume relative to the rest of your home audio system. After the sub's level control has been set, the volume control of your AV receiver will be the volume control for both the Klipsch powered subwoofer and your connected loudspeakers.
  • Low Pass Crossover: The variable lowpass crossover is adjustable from 40-120Hz. The crossover point chosen determines where low bass frequencies are "handed-off" from your AV system's loudspeakers to the Klipsch powered subwoofer. Set the crossover point based on the size of your systems' main left/right speakers.
  • Phase Control: This control is used to acoustically match the subwoofer's output to your main speakers. Select the position either 0˚ or 180˚ in which your subwoofer has more output at the listening position.

LFE/RCA Inputs: If you prefer a hardwired connection, the Klipsch R-10SWi powered subwoofer is also equipped with a pair of line-level RCA-type inputs to connect the sub to your receiver or integrated amplifier.

  • LFE Input: Most of today's AV receivers have a line-level subwoofer output (LFE). If your receiver has an LFE output, connect one end of a subwoofer cable (sold separately) to this output and connect the other end of the cable into the powered subwoofer's line-level input labeled "LEFT/LFE". Set the powered sub's built-in crossover to "LFE" with this type of connection.
  • Stereo Input: In absence of a subwoofer (LFE) output on your receiver, as an alternative hookup, you can connect Left & Right channel pre-amp outputs from the receiver to both the "Left/LFE" and "Right" inputs on the powered subwoofer.

LED Indicator: The front-mounted LED power indicator lets you know when the sub is powered on or off. The LED will light green when the powered subwoofer is on and receiving a signal. If the LED is dark and not lit, the powered sub is off.

Auto Power On/Off: The powered subwoofer will automatically turn On when it senses an audio signal. It will automatically go into "Standby mode" after 15-20 minutes with no audio signal. You can also choose to turn the powered sub On or Off manually from the rear-switch on the back.

Placement: Klipsch powered subwoofers are designed to reproduce deep bass and deliver the impact that makes your movies and music come alive. For optimum performance, place your subwoofer in a corner of the room on the same wall as your front channel speakers. Please note that room placement can have a dramatic effect on the performance of your powered subwoofer. Corner placement, as suggested above, will increase the amount of bass output, while placing the subwoofer along the middle of a wall, or out in the room will decrease the amount of bass output.

I have a pair of Klipsch Reference regular speakers, and they have incredible depth of sound but struggle a little at low frequencies. This is totally expected, of course, so I decided to add the sub to give subtle deep bass when listening to music at home. This will allow me to add crossovers to the regular speakers which should enhance their performance. [ SIMON  Nov 18, 2018 ]

Throughout the years I've purchased car audio from them and have been nothing but pleased dealing with them. Keep Up The Good Work Guys [ Patrick  Nov 28, 2016 ]
Built in wi-fi. I hope it works! [ Robert  Nov 18, 2016 ]

14 questions already asked

This sub will definitely shake the room. Of course lots depends on whats powering your system. [ DAVID  Dec 02, 2018 ]
Yes. It's a great subwoofer. [ RUFUS  Dec 02, 2018 ]
Well I really bought it for the wireless but the sub is the best for the price I am getting another one for the 7.2 [ Andrew  Dec 02, 2018 ]
I see no reason to believe that you couldn't run two subs off of one transmitter. You press and hold the sync button for 3 seconds to pair. Just make sure both subs are powered up when syncing. Not sure that two would offer any additional benefit over one. Obe sub can give you overwhelming unidirectional bass even in a hollow room. I keep the gain on mine set around a quarter of the way up. [ Terry  Nov 28, 2018 ]
I don't know. Wow, the thought never even crossed my mind to use two of these. One does the trick for me and I chose to hard wire it. If you feel you need two subwoofers, maybe you should consider a larger one with more power. Remember, the low frequencies aren't directional in nature. Cheers! [ Robert  Nov 28, 2018 ]
I don't know [ GEORGE W  Nov 28, 2018 ]
no [ Chris  Nov 26, 2018 ]
I have both power outages the 240 v is used in the garage to be honest with you I use 110v for my system so I don't know I'm sorry I couldn't help [ Henry  Nov 26, 2018 ]
There are no markings or switches on the sub to indicate it is dual voltage. [ Robert  Nov 26, 2018 ]
Kelvin, no, it is 110/120 only. The sub and the powered wireless sender are both 110/120 only. [ Bruce  Nov 26, 2018 ]
I live in a country with 120V/60Hz AC power. The R-10SWi I purchased last year says "AC IN 100-240V - 50/60Hz 2A" on the back (and the 2A must be a maximum spec since such would vary depending upon input voltage). Hence, at least the one I purchased is dual-voltage capable. There is no external transformer--so if you will use this with a 220/240V system, the power cord will need to have an adaptor or will have to be specified for that country. [ ROGER  Nov 26, 2018 ]
I don't believe so. It only has a standard 110 plug. [ JOE H  Nov 25, 2018 ]
The sub runs off your amp/receiver. If you have a sub output on your receiver, it should work fine and dramatically improve your sound. [ DAVID  Oct 30, 2018 ]
I expect it will. Make the connection to the transmitter and enjoy. [ Denis  Oct 30, 2018 ]
Yes, I run two of these subs with one being wireless and the other hardwired [ Pete  Dec 04, 2017 ]
The model I have can be connected by a cable-and that's the way I have mine set up. It has a wireless transmitter, but I haven't been using it. [ RYAN  Dec 03, 2017 ]
Yes! [ Robert  Dec 02, 2017 ]
I'm using a wired connection I haven't tried my wireless connection yet [ Dave  Dec 02, 2017 ]
It has an internal wireless receiver, but also has inputs to allow it to function as a wired subwoofer. [ Michael  Dec 01, 2017 ]
yes, I have it hard wired myself [ David  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Yes, you can hard wire it or use the optional wireless. It will work both ways. I'm using the wireless option and it works great. [ Dissatisfied Customer  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Yes, wireless is optional. You can hard wire the sub. I own the wireless version but I am using it hard-wired. [ David  Dec 01, 2017 ]
There are RCA line inputs on the back. [ GEORGE W  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Yes, the wireless is optional, the sub has line in connections you can use to hard wire [ Jerald  Dec 01, 2017 ]
The subwoofer has a left and right RCA line in. In order to use it wired, your receiver will need preamp outputs. If your receiver has a sub output, wireless is the way to go. If your receiver has neither preamp or sub outputs, the subwoofer will not be compatible. [ Terry  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Yes. You have the option to hardline to your amp or receiver. [ Robert  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Yes it is. Comes with a receiver and transmitter as well as standard wired connections. I always prefer hard wired connections but I was getting a "pop" when changing inputs. Did away with the wire and went wireless. Works great and it's nice to have the option. Great sounding speaker. [ Perry  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Yes [ BILL  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Yes, it is optional. I didn't use it at first, then I changed my mind. Sounds great both ways. [ DANIEL G  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Yes thank it is, but I hear no difference with or without wire. I use 2 on my set-up wireless. Great price too! Good for movies and music , used with Denon a/v receiver set up with atmos speakers . [ Enrico  Dec 01, 2017 ]
It was included the purchase price you can't go wrong with Klipsch [ Henry  Dec 01, 2017 ]
It can be hard wired if you wish, but the wireless works so well it would be more pragmatic to use it. This is not a bluetooth connection. The unit come with it's own transmitter that plugs into the speaker output. Couldn't be easier to set up. [ DAVID  Dec 01, 2017 ]
The wireless feature is optional but you need to buy the sub woofer cable to connect it in the wired configuration separately. [ mohit Philip  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Yes. I have mine connected via cable to my AVR and have not used the wireless feature. [ Donald  Dec 01, 2017 ]
Sure! Since your Onkyo TX-NR656 receiver is fitted with two subwoofer outputs, you can connect (up to) two of the Klipsch R-10SWi subwoofers in your system. I have this sub paired with Klipsch R-15M bookshelf speakers, Klipsch R-1650 in ceiling speakers and a Denon AVR-S530BT Receiver. As long as your receiver accepts or has an input for a sub, your speakers should work with this sub. [ William  Sep 25, 2017 ]
As long as your receiver has a sub output port you should be fine. Most newer receivers have a calibration function, which you'd need to do to tune for your room. I think you'll find the improvement of your audio will be incredible. [ DAVID  Sep 23, 2017 ]
Yes as long as you have a receiver or something that it couldn't hook up to it will work fine [ KEVIN  Sep 23, 2017 ]
Absolutely I think you'll be very happy with this sub as long as the receiver has a pre sub Outlet I would highly recommend it [ G  Sep 23, 2017 ]
I would think so. I use it with the R-15M and R-14M along with the RP250 and it adds the depth that is missing with those smaller speakers. [ Robert  Sep 23, 2017 ]
yes [ ALBERT E  Jul 06, 2017 ]
Yes - I've been using it wired for several months with no problem. [ Ryan  Jul 05, 2017 ]
Yes, it can be. My Bluetooth dongle got damaged so started using it via Wire. However, I would say if the wire is not grounded you will hear a "DUB" sound for evry song or channel change. [ Sindhoor  Jul 05, 2017 ]
my amp is also in a closed cabinet and the wireless worked fine [ ALBERT E  Feb 17, 2017 ]
Hi Mike, I recently purchased a complete Klipsch surround system that included this sub woofer. I have my Yamaha receiver and the R-10SWi in a entertainment cabinet. The sub is 30 feet away and it works fine. The remote aspect is Bluetooth which does not require line of sight for operation. [ PETE W  Feb 14, 2017 ]
Yes. This is my exact scenario. It works great. There is a slight delay, maybe 1 second, when the audio initially begins while the sub is waking up from standby mode. After this, the sound is in sync with the main drivers. [ Jacob  Feb 13, 2017 ]
Hi My situation is the same and mine works fine. My distance of separation is about 30 feet and it does fine [ Rick  Feb 13, 2017 ]
Yes, my amp is in a closet down the hall. [ Debby  Feb 13, 2017 ]
Should work just fine. My receiver is also in an enclosed cabinet and the sub is about 25 feet away, no issues what so ever. [ RICHARD  Feb 13, 2017 ]
In my experience, yes. Since it is a wireless (not infra red) connection, it behaves like a wireless router in your home network. The type and amount material obstructing the signal will dictate the signal strength received by the subwoofer. [ sergei  Feb 13, 2017 ]
Not sure. Mine is across the room from the home theater receiver. [ Donald  Feb 13, 2017 ]
The 2.4GHz range is commonly used with other household electronics (such as cordless/wireless phones) which can create interference if too many are installed in one home or area. However, both Klipsch and MartinLogan specially designed their wireless subwoofer transmitters & receivers to reduce any potential interference or "cross-talk" with other household electronics; so I wouldn't expect any issues to arise with your Siemens phone system. I hope that helps! [ Larry  Nov 13, 2016 ]  Staff
