With its 400-watt amplifier, 15" aluminum cone woofer, and slotted front port, the Klipsch R-115SW is a bass monster capable of filling even the largest home theaters.
Whether it's an explosion or earthquake on a Hollywood soundtrack, crisply plucked notes from a bass guitar, or the subterranean tones of a large cathedral pipe organ, the Klipsch R-115SW lets you hear and feel those extremely low frequencies that add realism and energy to your movies and music.
This subwoofer's high-output 400-watt amplifier pushes a 15" woofer made of a strong-yet-lightweight ceramic-coated aluminum for quick, precise movement, minimal distortion, and deep, bone-crushing bass even at concert-hall volume levels. The front slot port helps minimize turbulence for cleaner sound. And since the port is in the front, you won't hear unwanted "boominess" from sound reverberating off your walls and floor.
Line-level and LFE (Low-Frequency Effects) inputs let you easily connect the R-115SW to almost any home theater or stereo receiver. Its back-panel volume, crossover, and phase controls help you fine-tune the bass to your liking, and blend its sound into your system. The sub comes housed in a durable MDF cabinet and finished with a brushed black polymer veneer. A front-mounted LED power indicator makes it easy to tell when the sub's powered up and ready to rock.

Pros: Easy set up great sound with 200 off price easy buy
Added this one to my system. This brings low end like no other! Perfect match to my Chorus 2's
Pros: Ground thumping sound
Cons: It's big. But I'm ok with that
I just setup my home theater and used two R-115SW subs in addition to RP280s, RP250s, RP450c, and two in wall R-5650s. I am driving them with a Marantz SR7012 and the sound is very clean. I haven't had a chance to really put them through their paces with an action movie yet, but so far I am happy with their "musicality". Clean and tight bass that is not boomy or muddy. Just what I expected!
Wow.... this thing digs deep. Found new things to tighten down.
Pros: Gets low, pretty sexy
Dependable. Great speed in delivery. Excellent price for an open box. And technical support answered all my questions. Can't ask for any more from an internet retailer.
Does a good job, but enclosure is not constructed sturdily. The cabinet resonates significantly.
Have not compared them to other brands, but sounds good with my set of top of the like 5.1.2 Klipsch RP speakers. Giant copper woofers transform my living room from a nice car to the one and only Bumblebee.
Pros: Sound, aggressive looks.
Cons: Form a beginner audiohead... nothing.
Love this product!!!
Pros: Deep bass plenty of volume clear clean sound
No matter what you want- this thing DELIVERS!
Pros: Tied to some good components , this thing makes movie theaters look like amateurs.
Cons: 23" cabinet a challenge to place, but for what it produces, WHO CARES?
It does EVERYTHING I've asked of it. Premium product!
Great speaker for the money. I have a medium sized media room and this speaker punches you in the chest! I can highly recommend this sub.
Pros: Punchy bass. Can shake the walls.
Cons: None noted.
Makes the furniture, floors, and windows rattle when I want. Awesome for movies with explosions. Glad I went with this over a smaller unit.
Pros: Excellent bass for every application I've used it for.
Cons: If you run it too hard, the cable can work itself loose. Huge footprint.
I have two R-115SW's, they are amazing and definitely shake the place! Absolutely love them.
This is my second one after my 14 year old cerwin Vega 15 finally gave out. The quality of bass for the price paid is unbeatable. I bought both of mine at separate times while they were on sale. The bass goes way beyond anything my CV could manage. Low enough sometimes I can't hear it but I sure can feel it. If you're in the market for a 15 and don't have thousands to spend then look no further than this. I've had my first one for a year now and have had zero problems. Time will tell how they do over the years but it's klipsch so I expect they will do well.
Pros: Great bass. Fair price. Quality build.
Cons: The veneer they use I don't care for. It's not just a simple wipe off to clean the dust. It's not a wood grain looking veneer so it holds on to the dust if you wipe with a dry cloth.
When I first got this sub like wow! Very nice and love the bass it put out. I'm very very happy.
Pros: Very big sound and love the dip bass
I'm hearing notes I've never heard before in my home. Suweet!!!
Pros: Plays everything an ear can hear with clarity and punch.
Incredible response with no distortion. I purchased this sub to give some of my music a little bass punch. I decided to try out the sub with a Telarc cd of the 1812 Overture with real cannons. All I can say is "WOW". I think I was physically moved back one foot when the cannons came on. You definitely don't want a lot of volume on the first time you try this. This speaker effortlessly reproduces deep bass with no discernible distortion. Much better than I anticipated.
Pros: Adds a whole new dimension to your music repertoire. Very clean.
Cons: Do not try high volumes with this speaker if you live in an apartment building or in a place with structurally unsound walls.
Very clean sounding Bass. I and all my friends are impressed with the sound. (Not so much my neighbors)
I could not be more happy with this sub. I have not tried to beat down the walls with it yet but I'm sure that will happen when I do lol. if your considering this sub don't even think about it just buy it you cant go wrong. it sound great with music and in movies like star wars the last jedi you can feel the ships taking off and the cannon bursts ect its great. it is huge so don't be surprised
I run 2 of these r-115sw subs. Shakes everything off the walls if I turn the volume up. Was running 2 of the r-112sw they were great the 15 is much better.
Pros: Ground shaking, can actually feel the music or movie your watching
I love it. Looks great, sounds great.
Infinitely adjustable, great bass, perfect complement for my Klipsch reference speakers. Completely adjustable phase, completely adjustable crossover point, and completely adjustable level. Trivial to match to your present speakers. Easy set up. Wonderfully flat response. Great bass for classical, rock, or anything. Very clean sound, very low distortion. The copper cones produce extraordinary good sound.
Pros: Magnificent sound.
Cons: Heavy (of course)
Before my purchase...I knew nothing about Klipsch; other than the fact that they were the black and copper-ish speakers that were always out of my price range at the time. After purchasing one R-115sw during the summer of 2017 to replace my 10" Infinity, I was at awe at how much of a difference this sub made. After such a revelation of "discovering " the Klipsch brand...I purchased four Klipsch r-280's to replace all my Infinity towers. My recent purchase of a second R-115sw this month from Crutchfield was a no brainer due to the outstanding quality and sound from Klipsch, and the outstanding customer service, unbeatable products, and super fast delivery from Crutchfield.
Pros: Amazing house rattling bass Extremely well built Become the envy of your guests Actually feel and live your movies and music
Cons: Absolutely none whatsoever
My living room is approximately 20x30, and this subwoofer fills the space and then some. It can literally shake your house. It was easy to match it with my current 5.1 setup by simply adjusting the gain to my personal preference. Beautiful, clear, and a perfect addition.
Pros: Incredible low bass, ease of setup, looks incredible
Cons: It's huge, better have space
I bought two of these Klipsch R-115SW. They sound awesome. One died within a week of delivery and I'm in the process for a replacement. One alone is shaking everything in the house. I matched them up to Klipsch RF-82II, RC-62II, RS-52II and RB-61II. Now I just need a new 4K Atmos receiver.
Nice looking woofer, solid and powerfull
This thing is an absolute beast. On a freq test I was watching it, and feeling it, down to 10 Hz. It eats bass frequencies with no effort. The SPL is almost too much at times and I find myself turning it down a little when listening to the music up loud. So good or bad? You decide. I wouldn't trade it for anything under $1k.
Pros: Amazing theater quality bass effortlessly. Easy setup.
Cons: No digital controls, remotes, or apps.
Exceeds my expectations. Both quality and quantity of bass is (almost) beyond belief. With the grill off, it is quite attractive as well.
Cons: Weight - Needed two people to carry (probably true of any comparable speaker, but be prepared!)
Bought this to compliment a pair of RP-260F speakers and so far it's great. The low end is clear, defined, and smooth. Glad I opted for this over the R-112SW, it does not disappoint.
Excellent. The adjustable sound and frequencies allow for customizing to the movie or music you have playing. For kids movies I drop the Hz, for music and action, raise it up. Makes optimal sound switching a breeze. bass is clear, low, and house shaking. Kids thought it was thundering the other night. Worth the money and easy to set up
First off, this sub hits lows you can only even feel. Its by far the moat powerful home theater sub ive ever had in my house. The bass is very clear and smooth. So glad I went woth the 15. Worth every penny.
Pros: Excellent bass at all levels Looks sweet Built in auto turn on frature is nice
Cons: Maybe size? Its big but what do you expect for a ported 15" sub...
Shook the whole room, i dont need the shaker for my sofa...so want to continue to play the movie collection
Pros: so powerfull and deep bass
Cons: heavy, scared the bottom of the blisters
One word awesome
Pros: Killer bass Easy to set up Adjustable bass level
In its price range you are not going to find a better sub than this 1,it hits lows lower than you can hear and it hits low bass so easily,my last 12" had to work to try and come close to making the bass this thing does. 1 note if you're getting a hum through it when its not working that is due to an electrical feedback into your cable line which is transferred into your amp and in turn transferred to your sub-this is not a guess-this is the reason. I LOVE this beautiful sub,do a proper burn in on it and you wont be disappointed-more power than you will ever need to annoy the neighbors
Pros: Crisp and clean bass at any level you want, bass you can feel and not hear, its big and beautiful getting the attention it deserves
Cons: absolutely none for me,i knew exactly what i was getting and got exactly what i expected-lotta money to spend to not do your research, but i run the whole RP line of speakers,so it was a no brainer too
Best subwoofer ever!
Pros: Great deep , earth moving sound
Cons: Large cabinet
The most powerful stuff I have every heard. The best subwoofer ever! It's worth every penny.
I haven't really had time to fine tune it yet. This thing is a Beast! Sounds incredible!
Pros: Huge, powerful and it sounds Great.
This thing is amazing super deep bass. I am not even sure how loud it can Actully get because I have to run it at half volume and turn the subwoofer channel down to -9 otherwise my neighbors are knocking on my door.
Pros: Loud and deep
Cons: Not so much a con for me but it is huge pretty much a 2 foot cube.
Love the deep bass the sub produces. Doesn't get boomy just nice tight bass. Great with movies and music.
Pros: Tight bass very accurate
Cons: Need a lot of space, very large speaker
Awesome is the only word to describe this sub! I already own an R-115SW and decided to go for broke and pick up a second one since I recently purchased a new receiver. The first time I had them running together I found out I had to adjust the door latches in my sound room to keep them from vibrating! And that was at 10% volume! If you are looking for mow bass at low volumes, look no further. Crutchfield also gives superior service. Item was at my home in 2 days in pristine condition
Pros: Accurate lows even at low volume
I had a Definitive Technology Powerfield 1500 purchased in 1998. It served me well for a long time. It recently went bad. I was well pleased with the Definitive Technology Powerfield 1500 so I decided to purchase the Definitive Technology SuperCube 6000. It did not seem to have the same punch as the old subwoofer. I returned it. Borrowing a term form the hot rod world, "There is no replacement for displacement. So, I purchased a Klipsch R-115SW. Very nice subwoofer. It does produce lows. It is indeed a very nice subwoofer. It does rattle the windows and pictures on the wall. Very pleased with the performance of this subwoofer! It does rock. In Star Trek Beyond when the Enterprise hits warp speed, it was a beautiful thing!
Pros: Very nice bass. So cool. Its BIG!
Cons: If the wife isn't watching a movie with me. Well, the subwoofer can be too loud for her. It's BIG.
Awesome thunder from this speaker. Prior to purchasing this speaker, I was using a 12 inch Klipsch sub. While a good subwoofer, the performance of the 12 inch is far exceeded in every way by the enormous 15. It sits in a fairly large room (~400 square feet), so the large size of the speaker is not a problem. The performance of this sub is truly captivating, even in a large room. You feel this speaker through your body. The deep rumble resonates throughout my house and rattles the dishes in the kitchen below. When coupled with the 12 inch, low frequency effects in movies come to life. I could not be more pleased with my purchase. Now, I just need to invest in pushing more power to my Klipsch towers.
Pros: Deep rumbling bass
Cons: Enormous size
This thing is a BEAST compared to my old 10" woofer. I knew it was going to be big but not this big. It hits nice and hard. My neighbors are going to hate me!!
Pros: everything that i was looking for.
Tons of bass !!
Pros: Tuns of bass
Hands down the best subwoofer I have ever owned. This things loves to live in the subsonic zone of movies and truly is a wall shaker. Even with its massive size it's worth every inch it takes up in my family room.
Pros: Effortless reproduction of ultra low frequencies and tons of power to spare
Cons: For some the size may be an issue but I'm planning on buying a second one to balance my sound stage.... big sound requires a big footprint
I bought 2 of these and they are immense! They captivate my attention in every movie and they do with extreme ease and crispness!
Pros: Crisp clean bass for even large rooms Amazing low end that you will feel Great looking
Cons: May be too large for some rooms but I love the size!
OMG! It's a monster! It's huge and beautiful. It will not only rock your house, it will rock your neighborhood. Perfect sound
Pros: This sub has the richest blow your mind base. Solid and hearty tone's that blast through you.
Cons: It's big and heavy, get help to move it. But beautiful. Not designed for a studio apartment. Remember the scene of Marty hooking up the amp in Back to the Future...yeah
All i can say is WOW! Coming from an old Infinity 12" down firing vented enclosure to this was like putting 4 of my old sub woofers in the same room. There is so much head room on this unit. I literally have the gain set to 25 percent and it's almost too much for my room (15'x15'). What I will say is that I have not heard the Klipsch 12" Reference Premier sub woofer, but I am glad regardless I went with the 15". The unit can pound, but still articulate every note all the way down to 18hz without even trying.
Pros: Tons of Output Very Accurate Very Tight Bass
Cons: Size (but what do you expect from a 15" vented enclosure tuned to 18hz?)
This sub rattles every.single.window/door in the house. These are huge and an eyesore to women everywhere. . . so get two!
Pros: Awesome sound and makes you feel as though you're in the action.
Cons: Your wife and neighbors will hate you.
Fantastic sub it shakes the whole house. Crutchfield service was excellent as always.
Pros: Fantastic sound in a large room.
I've owned several powered subs, but this is amazing. Awesome sound and "feel" !!
Pros: Ease of set up. Ease of adjustment. Awesome sound with music or theater.
I purchased this subwoofer to go with my Klipsch THX Ultra II system, which already has 2 12" subs. I also already had one other R-115SW as well. I have a huge room with an open concept, and the three subs already rumble, but I wanted to balance out the system. The frequency range on this sub is amazing, especially on the low end. 1 of these is probably enough for most rooms, but why do it, when you can OVER-DO it? I was already a Klipsch fan after the THX system, and now I can say I am a big fan of the reference line as well!
Pros: Wide frequency range, awesome low end bass, tons of punch that will rattle the walls.
Very nice sub. Puts out a lot of bass
Received my r115sw about two weeks ago. It came by ups freight and weighed 88 pounds shipped. Well boxed by Crutchfield. Also had the plastic strapping around the outside box. Real easy to set up. I found that the AC Power switch had been set to 220 volts not the 110 used mostly here in the US. I previously had used a earlier Klipsch Sub that was 12 years old. When I plugged it in I didn't get any sound out of the Sub. Nothing ! Went into my Yamaha RX-A3050 settings where I had the Sub setting set at Zero. Moved the setting up to 6 on the scale. Only then started to hear some Base (Woofing) out of the new Sub. Played Jurassic World and got very little base. Did the Yamaha Speaker Setup with the microphone. It read the Sub as a minus 2. Turned the gain on the Sub all the way up to max. I called Crutchfield and spoke to one of their techs. We ran several tests. He advised me to set the Setting on my Yamaha to max ( 10 ). I got better Woofing out of the Sub. I don't see why I needed to set the Yamaha Sub that high. I have backed the Sub Gain down to around 80%. I now have Base out of it. Just don't see why I'm not getting more Base out of this than I am.
Pros: Shipping and Looks
Cons: Should be more Base than what I'm gettingCrutchfield response on 9/20/2016 Once we saw this review, our Tech Support team reached out to help Carl. We'll either help him get the sub working the way it should, or help him return it for an exchange or refund.
Fantastic deep bass. Jurassic Park OMG!!
Pros: Fantastic value, Makes a great end table. (please use a coaster.)
Cons: I wish I would have checked on the size of this,
An AMAZING SUB right here. i've got a little klipsh guy for my little klipsch bookshelves but i got a bug and wanted more. i stumbled upon some klipschorns from the 80s and with the NAD power to them, i was missing the bass. This sub cures it and i can listen to Skrillex to Waylon and it preforms amazing. Great lows and punch for any occasion. I love the look on peoples faces when i turn it up and the hold their faces because the sub hits hard!
Pros: Great looks, great hit and would work jump start your heart!
Cons: Need to make sure your pictures are up on the wall good before releasing the beast.
Great sound, but you need help lifting it.
Pros: The neighborhood will hate me!
Cons: The neighborhood will hate me!
Just got the klipsh subwoofer ....it doesn't sit flat on the floor (wobbles ) asked them to send me a pad and they wanted to refer me to klipsh, they refused to help me , I'm sending it back and buying from a company that takes care of there customers
Cons:Crutchfield response on 4/19/2016 Our Customer Support team reached out to Tom after we read this review. We've sent a part to help stabilize his subwoofer.
Worth every penny. Planning on buying a second for 9.2.2 setup.
I was going back and forth between this and another brand sold here for more than twice the price. I decided on this behemoth and am so glad I did. It is one of the few subs that I could find would go below 20Hz, and - though we can't hear that low - we sure can feel that low! I have one of these in a 25' x 20' home theater room with carpet over a cement floor and this thing shakes the place. It matches perfectly with the Klipsch Reference Premiere front, center and surrounds. Could not be happier. Just remember, it is physically BIG. There is no hiding this one, but at least it looks very high end. I use this primarily for movies and it does that exceedingly well. Watching Jurassic World at home was like being in a state of the art theater.
Pros: Goes low and hits hard. Power to spare. Elegant even if HUGE cabinet.
Cons: None whatsoever.
Pros: Fills every room in the house with deep rumbling bass
Cons: It's big
Great sub. Just needed one to shake up the house. Kinda hefty but that's when you know the quality is good.
Pros: Great sound Easy installation
Cons: The grip on the bottom is flimsy, comes of easy. But the weight keeps it secure.
Pros: this thing is great..effortlessly produces great base
Cons: its really big...
Awesome! I'll admit for the first ten minutes and the money I expected more But I was running two klipsch 10"450 subs before this. However once I turned it up and let it breath wow. I cannot make this thing skip a beat. Absolutely no comparison. More actual bass instead of just hearing air blow by. It's easily the best addition to the stereo system and more than worth the money. It seems like the entire stereo can handle twice the power now. There is word of it having a hum noise once it's turned on and that is true but just think of it as firing up your muscle car, she's gotta idle for a bit before you blow everyone else away with her. Buy one you will love it.
Cons: Didn't buy it soon enough
I run two of these 15" subs in my home theater. I can't run them with more than 50% gain at -10 db without rattling the picture frames off the wall or offending my next door neighbors. If you're looking to bring the "feel it in the seat of your pants" boom, look no further. Yes, there may be some higher rated options at this price point from an internet direct retailer, but for me, it was about adding subwoofers that complimented my existing Klipsch Reference speaker system. I feel like I made the right choice.
Pros: Good low frequency response, beautiful speaker that compliments the rest of the Reference line, flexibility in placement with wireless WA-2 kit.
Cons: Susceptible to ground loop hum, large cabinet won't fit all rooms, lots of competition at this price point.
Decent 15" sub with fairly tight low end outputbut as others have pointed out, it has issues. A noticeable hum can be heard even with the input cable disconnected from the source and terminated with a resistive load. The auto on feature is not set up correctly, requiring you to manually turn the sub on. In my opinion, there are much better alternatives available for the money, without the nuisance functional problems.
Pros: Decent low end output, no noticeable port noise.
Cons: Audible Hum and auto on feature doesn't turn on unless the source input is ver high.
They're not lying when they say this thing is big! Of course this is a 15" sub so what do you expect?? Just be sure to read the dimensions in the description. I recently replaced a 10" sub with this one. The 10" hit hard and loud but just never low enough for me. I read many reviews about the accuracy of this 15" and how it handled the higher bass notes just as well. Again, they weren't lying! This thing absolutely Rocks! I was going to run the 10" with it but seriously, there's no need for it. It doesn't matter if it's rock, rap, country, movies, or just plain TV. This thing does it all and does it with ease. Well worth the money if you ask me. Just wish I had bought this sooner!
Pros: Looks beautiful and sounds amazing. Quality is second to none
Bring on the boom baby, no room is to big for this monster. Turned the volume down to 3/4 , and the cut off around 120hrtz. You better love bass....instead of thump, thump cars driving by my house, cars drive by my thump, thump house...
Pros: Very solid cabinet, lots of bass, your neighbors will hate you
Cons: Over all size and your neighbors will hate you
I would prefer cherry wood color but they only make these in black. The subwoofer is physically large so plan for adequate space. My placement was in my living room near front speakers in a very large room with high vaulted ceiling so everything including my 70 inch HDTV look relatively small. It doesn't have XLR balanced inputs but my NAD receiver and amplifier setup only use RCA cables. The auto-on feature sometimes inconsistent and require manually switching on and off with tuning hard to optimize if you don't have a speaker setup microphone. The gain and crossover knobs are simple ways to configure the subwoofer but they allow quick adjustment. I was a little disappointed at first but the larger 15 inch size moves slower and delivers a harder punch. Coming from smaller Klipsch 10 inch powered subwoofer with 500 watt amplifier I was expecting loud explosive bass but this is designed for accuracy and not necessarily loud, sloppy bass. It's performance is pretty good for a subwoofer in this price range and adequate for music and movies so I am happy. The packaging protects the contents wells and Crutchfield notification of delivery is easy to setup online with ups tracking. I considered buying from another online retailer but decided to give Crutchfield a try since they have been around a long time and seem to be a reputable online retailer. If I run into any issues (so far so good), but am confident that if I had to rely on their technical support or customer service that they will not disappoint.
Pros: large, powerful punch
Cons: only RCA connections, auto-on functionality, black only color
Awesome sound and really fills out the home theater! Highly recommended unless you are in an apartment with lots of adjacent apartments. You will make enemy's with this.
Pros: Full and deep sound
Cons: It's fairly big
I recently bought this sub woofer for my husband because the 12" subwoofer that we had could not keep up with our KFL 30 speakers. the R-115SW has absolutely no problem pumping out the bass, without overpowering the speakers, no matter how much we pump the volume. My husband is a definite audio enthusiast, and he is definitely impressed with how the sub woofer performs. It is definitely worth the price.

15" Cerametallic Woofer: The Klipsch R-115SW features a front-firing 15" spun-copper Cerametallic woofer that is exceptionally light yet extremely rigid, while providing remarkably low frequency response with minimal cone breakup and distortion.
400 Watt Amplifier: The Klipsch R-115SW powered sub employs an all-digital 400 watt RMS (800 watt Peak) amplifier for dynamic bass performance. The built-in all-digital amplifier delivers ample power with high efficiency and true-to-source accuracy in reproduction.
MDF Cabinet: The R-115SW is housed in a durable MDF cabinet and finished with a brushed black polymer veneer. The MDF enclosure is rigid and protects against unwanted vibration and distortion.
Front-Firing Slot Port: The front-firing slot port with proprietary internal geometry minimizes port noise for clean undistorted low frequencies. This highly efficient enclosure design produces more output using less energy.
Controls: The level control, low pass crossover, and phase control allow you to blend the powered subwoofer's low-frequency tones with your system's other speakers, as well as establish the ideal level of bass.
LFE/RCA Inputs: The Klipsch R-115SW powered subwoofer is equipped with a pair of line-level RCA-type inputs to connect the sub to your receiver or integrated amplifier.
WA Port (optional): The Klipsch powered subwoofer is fitted with a proprietary 4-pin "WA-Port" connector for wireless operation, using Klipsch's optional WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit (714WA2, sold separately). The Klipsch WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit consists of two components; a wireless Transmitter & wireless Receiver. The WA-2 wireless subwoofer kit makes adding the Klipsch powered subwoofer to your home theater system much easier, because it replaces the need for a separate subwoofer cable that traditionally must be connected between the receiver and the powered sub. Now, you can easily place your powered subwoofer where it both sounds and looks best in the room since you're not restricted by an audio cable.
LED Indicator: The front-mounted LED power indicator lets you know when the sub is powered on or off. The LED will light green when the powered subwoofer is on and receiving a signal. If the LED is dark and not lit, the powered sub is off.
Auto Power On/Off: The powered subwoofer will automatically turn On when it senses an audio signal. It will automatically go into "Standby mode" after 15-20 minutes with no audio signal. You can also choose to turn the powered sub On or Off manually from the rear-switch on the back.
Placement: Klipsch powered subwoofers are designed to reproduce deep bass and deliver the impact that makes your movies and music come alive. For optimum performance, place your subwoofer in a corner of the room on the same wall as your front channel speakers. Please note that room placement can have a dramatic effect on the performance of your powered subwoofer. Corner placement, as suggested above, will increase the amount of bass output, while placing the subwoofer along the middle of a wall, or out in the room will decrease the amount of bass output.

I really needed a subwoofer for my home av system to complete the whole messy process of completing the system! Expensive, yes. I've listened to some display setups of Klipsch speakers at an Army base a few weeks ago and was impressed with their sound. I could literally hear everything! I have currently a JBL sub and don't get me wrong it does great, just not big enough for the space. Another reason I chose Klipsch is because they have a better warranty then a few others out there. I chose this to complete my system. [ Judy Dec 29, 2017 ]
I had my Velodyne DEQ-15R sub stop working and I wanted a similar sized sub to replace it so I decided to give the Klipsch a try. I have the Klipsch RF-82 ll, RP-450C and the RS-52ll speakers and I love them. Also, reviews on this sub are all excellent. I will post my review later. [ Verl Nov 18, 2017 ]
I selected this subwoofer as part of my upgrade to the RP series of speakers. It has awesome reviews and I am looking forward to receiving it in the next couple of days. Klipsch speakers are the best available for this price range, and they're from my state of Indiana! [ Jason Nov 13, 2017 ]
Looking for tight, big bass. [ Denny Nov 07, 2017 ]
This is my second R-115SW and I ordered it to "smooth out" the base response in a big (18x25) room. I certainly don't need MORE bass but most experts recommend 2 or 4 subs to even out the frequency response in the whole room vice just the primary listening position. The R-115SW is a gentle giant with bass response for even the more discerning listener. For music or movies, this speaker can effortlessly cover it all. [ JAMES D Jul 11, 2017 ]
Great reviews and my current subs suck. [ Adam Feb 26, 2017 ]
Matches my other speakers [ John Feb 22, 2017 ]
I have a really large room with 20 foot ceilings [ Brent Feb 19, 2017 ]
I have two RP-260F Floor Standing speakers which are matched perfectly to my Reference Premiere RP-250C Center Channel speaker and RB-61 II surround speakers. These all have the same Cerametallic Cone Woofers and 1" Titanium LTS Tweeter with Hybrid Tractrix Horns as all the Premiere Series. My 6.1 setup also includes R-25C Back Center speaker and now this R-115SW subwoofer. R-115SW goes down to 18hz vs.32hz for the R-10SW. My only question is why did I wait so long to buy new quality speakers. [ James Feb 10, 2017 ]
I have an M&K MX 145 sub and bought this to add a little punch to my system without breaking the bank. [ E Jan 31, 2017 ]

good sub for the price [ Augusto Dec 18, 2016 ]

I know Klipsch bass is natural. [ Sanford J. Oct 31, 2016 ]
Have the speaker system and currently am pleased with the brand and product. [ Terryl Kendrick Oct 14, 2016 ]
I was looking for a powered sub that hit the 20hz low. The R-115SW goes down to 18hz; not that the human ear can hear that low, but I wanted to ensure I was capturing every nuance of my music that could be heard. [ GARRY Oct 02, 2016 ]
Reviews and I was told to go big and not regret it. I love Klipsch speakers. [ NATHAN Sep 07, 2016 ]
18hz bass.... The feels! [ William Aug 30, 2016 ]
Pleased with the first one I bought. Also, Klipsch quality. [ Trenton Mar 03, 2016 ]
To brand match thx kl 7800 speakers [ J Feb 19, 2016 ]
I have owned Klipsch speakers for over 20 years and they are as awesome today as then, I expect this 15" Powered SW to be as good as my 12" has been. [ RODNEY Jan 01, 2016 ]
best prices. [ ben Dec 18, 2015 ]
Crossover slope and crossover frequency are two completely different things. Most subwoofers are 24 db slopes. But I would verify with manufacturer. [ rickyqueens, nyc Nov 01, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The crossover slope is determined by the receiver that is sending the signal to the sub. You have the ability to change the low-pass crossover frequency between 40-160Hz. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. Not to be rude or anything and please accept my apologies in advance. CRT tv's have pretty much been absolete for maybe 10 yrs. I know some people still love them, but most were not even bigger than 32" or 35". If you are looking to purchase a subwoofer of this caliber. I would hope you have at least an lcd, plasma, led or maybe even an 4K Oled tv. If you are purchasing this sub, I'm sure you already spent at least a grand on an a/v receiver and 5.1 speakers. Also new equipment runs on hdmi and CRT only had component, composite, s video and rca connections. [ rickyqueens, nyc Nov 01, 2015 ]
I'm not an expert on the subject but I believe unless your television is an older CRT model, you should have no problems with a subwoofer interfering or damaging your television. Hope that helps. [ Dave Nov 17, 2014 ]
We have our sub woofer just to the right of our television, though the television is up higher than the sub, and we do not have any problem. As long as you don't put your television right on top of the sub woofer the sub will be safe. I hope that this answers your question. [ CHRISTINA M Nov 17, 2014 ]
Your room acoustics would probably be your best adjustment. add some base traps and absorb as many standing waves as you can. More power is in the right direction, Try venting some sound pressure through an open window! Then adjust the crossover at sub. [ Walter Nov 21, 2014 ]
We are running KFL 30 Klipsch speakers with the R-115SW and they mesh beautifully. You should not have any problem using this sub woofer with your rf 82 speakers. [ CHRISTINA M Nov 17, 2014 ]
