Classic Klipsch sound at a great value

I own a pair of Klipsch bookshelf speakers. I love them for good reason: they sound great. I also love the classic look of a horn-loaded tweeter above a burnished copper-colored woofer. This pair of compact, affordable R-41Ms continues the Klipsch tradition of crafting high-quality speakers that offer powerful, lifelike sound.

The horn-loaded tweeter — a hallmark of the Klipsch brand — produces clear, detailed highs. Each speaker's copper spun 4" woofer delivers solid midrange and bass response. And binding post wire terminals offer easy, secure wire connections. Make these speakers part of a two-channel music system that doesn't take up much shelf space. Or use a pair of R-41Ms as the front channels of a compact surround sound speaker system.

Build a complete Reference system

Add more bass to the R-41Ms with a matching subwoofer, or team them with other Klipsch Reference speakers for high-impact home theater.

Product Research

Features

1" Horn-Loaded Tweeter: The R-41M bookshelf loudspeaker features Klipsch's proprietary Tractrix Horn technology mated with a 1" aluminum LTS tweeter, for impressive high-end response and greater extension, enhanced imaging and powerful dynamics.

  • 90°x90° Tractrix Horn: The square Tractrix Horn delivers a 90° (w) x 90° (h) dispersion pattern for a broader sound-stage. Klipsch exclusive Tractrix horn technology ensures that the speaker's high frequency energy is aimed at the listener and reduces artificial reverb or filtering caused by indirect sound bouncing off of walls. Using this proprietary focused technology provides clarity, dynamics, and detail for your movies and music
  • LTS (Linear Travel Suspension): Behind each horn lies a 1.0" tweeter with a linear travel suspension. Klipsch exclusive Linear Travel Suspension (LTS) minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performances. In addition, Using Kapton (an extremely light and rigid material) in the tweeter suspension provides high efficiency and improve resolution and detail.

4" Copper-Spun IMG Woofer: The Klipsch R-41M bookshelf speaker houses a single 4" Copper-Spun IMG woofer. The Copper-Spun IMG (Injection Molded Graphite) woofer is exceptionally light while being extremely rigid - providing remarkable low frequency response, with minimal cone breakup and distortion.

Flared Port: The Klipsch Reference series bookshelf speaker features a rear-firing port that is perfectly matched to the cabinet and drivers. The port is precisely flared to minimize turbulence even at the lowest frequencies.

MDF Cabinet: The Klipsch R-41M bookshelf speaker features a MDF cabinet with a scratch-resistant, textured wood grain vinyl that seamlessly integrates into almost any room or decor. The enclosure's reinforced MDF construction reduces cabinet vibration for less audible coloration and improved sonic accuracy.

Acoustically Transparent Grille: The Klipsch R-41M bookshelf speaker comes with a removable, black cloth grille that is magnetic and acoustically transparent.

5-Way Binding Posts: The Klipsch Reference series bookshelf speaker is fitted with sturdy 5-way binding posts to ensure a secure connection to many types of cable and connectors. The 5-way binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single or dual), pin-connectors, spade-lugs and bare wire (up to 10AWG). Two plastic caps will need to be removed to use banana plugs.

Mounting Options: The Klipsch R-41M can be placed on a speaker stand, bookshelf, table, or other flat surface. It can also be wall-mounted.

  • Rubber Feet: The bookshelf loudspeaker comes with self-adhesive rubber feet to secure the speaker in place and prevent any damage to your stand's or shelf's surface. The rubber feet add approximately 0.3125" to the overall height of the speaker.
  • Keyhole Slot: The Klipsch Reference series bookshelf speaker feature a single keyhole slot on the back of the cabinet for wall-mounting the speaker without any additional wall-mount bracket (mounting screws not supplied).

Application & Placement: The Klipsch R-41M bookshelf loudspeaker can be used in a dedicated stereo application or in a home theater application as front and/or rear speakers.

  • Front Placement: For optimum performance in a stereo application or as front speakers in a home theater application, Klipsch suggests placing the loudspeakers 6' to 15' apart. They may also be toed-in slightly for better stereo imaging. The listening position should be about 1 to 1.5x the distance separating the speakers.
  • Rear Placement: When used as surround speakers in a home theater setup, the loudspeakers should be placed approximately 2' above the listening position. Typically this will be approximately 5' to 7' above the floor. The surrounds should be placed on the walls directly adjacent to the listening position. Another option would be on the wall behind the listening position.

Reference Series: The Klipsch Reference series consists of four floorstanding speakers (R-610F/R-620F/R-820F/R-625FA), two bookshelf speakers (R-41/R-51M), two center channel speakers (R-34C/R-52C), and one Dolby Atmos speaker (R-41SA) - all sold separately. The Klipsch Reference series line-up of loudspeakers sound great in stereo and home theater applications.

Optional Powered Sub: For bigger & deeper bass response, pair the Klipsch Reference series loudspeaker with one of Klipsch's powered subwoofers (sold separately).

Q
what kind of speaker wires do I need to hook this up to a Yamaha R-S202 BL receiver?
[ ED  Apr 16, 2021 ]
4 answers
A
Myself, I used 14 gauge, oxygen-free speaker wire. Twelve gauge is over the top for this speaker. Sixteen would also be sufficient without much signal loss.
[ NICK  Apr 30, 2021 ]
A
12 or 14 gauge should work fine. The speakers accept bare wire or banana plugs.
[ ROBERT  Apr 27, 2021 ]
A
I purchased the Crutchfield Speaker Wire, which worked perfectly for my Marantz receiver. On the speaker end, I disconnected the bannana connector and directly connected the wire into the appropriate speaker connector (on rear of speaker). https://www.crutchfield.com/p_007CBB6/Crutchfield-Speaker-Wire-6-feet.html On your R-S202 it looks as if this wire would be sufficient. https://www.crutchfield.com/p_120SW16WB1/T-Spec-Speaker-Wire-16-gauge.html Please note, I am not an expert, hopefully someone from Crutchfield can advise you. Best of luck!
[ Jason  Apr 26, 2021 ]
A
16 or 18 gauge speaker wire that's what I use

Q
I have a Denon AVR X1400H, would four of these for Surround sound work well with a sub woofer attached?
[ Steve  Mar 13, 2021 ]
5 answers
A
Yes these would work very well in a surround sound with a sub woofer. I use my pair as a center channel, Excellent center channel or rear left right with a sub woofer.
[ ROBERT J  Mar 13, 2021 ]
A
I think these would be good as satellite speakers. If I had a limited budget and were building a surround system, I would start by buying somewhat larger Klipsch for right and left speakers. My personal opinion would be to get a Klipsch center speaker before adding the satellite speakers. A center speaker really adds to the dialogue clarity. Hope this helps.
[ ROBERT  Mar 13, 2021 ]
A
We had the R 41s along with the R 52C center speaker & SW and we're very satisfied with the sound. The AVR was the 1400H. The room was 13 x13.
[ CLARK  Mar 13, 2021 ]
A
I used the r-51 for fronts and 41 as rears with a sub and center and worked fine as a starter for me.I since got the R-620 for fronts and was a big difference and was not that a big price difference when on sale if u have the room for them.In my journey thus far the biggest improvement by alot is when I upgraded to the Denon 3600 the extra power and the ability with the pre outs to add even more power was worth the cost.Just something to keep in mind down the road cause once u get on if like me you will upgrade.
[ DAVID  Mar 13, 2021 ]
A
I use two for my rear surrounds in my setup and they sound incredible .I use the R-51M for my fronts with a Denon AVR-X1300W receiver pushing all 4 with a Mirage 8" powered sub and Mirage Omni-Sat center channel.. I'm sure that using the R-41M in the front would sound amazing as well for the fronts. Just make sure you tweak your crossovers in your receiver. I have mine set to 40hz cutoff and I never get any distortion. Always crystal clear, but what else can you expect from Klipsch?!
[ Jason  Mar 13, 2021 ]
Q
I own a Pioneer elite vsx-45 receiver. Would the Klipsch R-41M speakers strong enough for the pioneer receiver?
[ GEORGE  Feb 22, 2021 ]
2 answers
A
these speakers don't require massive power
[ ARTURO C  May 16, 2021 ]
A
Yes although you should have a subwoofer as their bass is limited.
[ TIM  Feb 22, 2021 ]
Q
Do these speakers have the capability to be used with a wall mount?
[ Casey  Jun 28, 2020 ]
4 answers
A
They feature a hole in the back panel that allows to have them hitch onto a screw sticking out of the wall. You might want to add small spacers as the speakers have a rear bass hole.
[ Philip  Jun 28, 2020 ]
A
Yes I mounted them on the wall. Works great
[ RICK  Jun 28, 2020 ]
A
Yes
[ SOM  Jun 28, 2020 ]
A
Yes they have the ability to be mounted on the wall.
[ Ryan  Jun 28, 2020 ]
Q
Will these speakers work well with an old Marantz 2215B receiver?
[ James  May 07, 2020 ]
5 answers
A
YES I USE THEM WITH THE KLIPSCH RW8 AND I LOVE IT IN OFFICE
[ ANTHONY  May 08, 2020 ]
A
Yes. Is a basically connection with the speaker wire.
[ Josue  May 07, 2020 ]
A
I don't see why they wouldn't. I used them with a new Yamaha surround system as front channel with Bose 901 in rear, then as rear channel when I bought a pair of R-51M for fronts, based on the the sound of the R-41m's. Both sound great when reciever is set for 7 channel stereo also.
[ Raymond  May 07, 2020 ]
A
James ... if your receiver is still putting out the wattage , these speakers will perform ! Can't go wrong with klipsch
[ DALE  May 07, 2020 ]
A
I think the lower RMS rating of the Marantz 2215B won't do these justice. That receiver is only 15w per channel if I'm not mistaken. I'm using my R-41M as a set of rears with a Denon AVR-X1300W which pushes 80w per channel, and they sound amazing. In fact, I'm considering upgrading my receiver for even more watts so I have more headroom.
[ Jason  May 07, 2020 ]
Q
My stereo requires 6 ohm impedence. Would these speakers work? Also, are they wired speakers?
[ Teresaq  May 16, 2019 ]
2 answers
A
wired speakers ..
[ ARTURO C  May 16, 2021 ]
A
Yes, the speakers are wired. And I'm happy with their performance. Not sure about the impedence question, but for me it was simply plug-n-play.6ohm is maybe standard?
