If you're looking for the perfect partner to round out your Klipsch Dolby Atmos surround speaker system, then you've come to the right place. The powerful RP-450CA Reference Premiere center channel speaker will put you right in the front row for exciting cinematic sound. Its proprietary Klipsch speaker technologies are ideal for re-creating an immersive, high-impact Dolby Atmos listening experience. The RP-450CA features four 5-1/4" woofers for plenty of bass and midrange punch, plus Klipsch's signature Tractrix® horn tweeter for controlled sound dispersion, outstanding intelligibility, and sparkling clear highs. A gorgeous real wood veneer finish makes this center channel the ideal cosmetic match to the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-280FA Dolby Atmos floor-standing tower, and an attractive addition to any home theater.
Never one to rest on its laurels, Klipsch has been busy refining and improving its designs to create loudspeakers that blow the doors off of its loyal followers' expectations. The Reference Premiere Series builds on the acoustics and technologies of Klipsch's classic Reference Series, with important enhancements that provide even more intense home theater sound.
With its Hybrid Tractrix® horn and Cerametallic woofers, the RP-450CA center channel speaker is built to effortlessly deliver clear, powerful Klipsch sound. A real wood veneer finish gives it a luxurious look and feel.
Horn technology is one of Klipsch's long-standing hallmarks. Flared openings in the speaker cabinet project sound waves toward your listening area and prevent them from simply spilling out in all directions. This design reduces reflections that can color the sound, and boosts dynamics and efficiency for powerful sound that remains crystal-clear at all volume levels.
Klipsch's newly designed Hybrid Tractrix horn features a circular throat around an advanced titanium diaphragm tweeter that transitions into a square 90º x 90º mouth. This unique shape provides a cleaner, more efficient transition of sound waves into your listening space. Compared to previous Klipsch models, this horn design delivers a wider sweet spot with more precise placement of instruments and vocals. Even the horn material itself has been upgraded to molded silicone rubber that helps decrease resonance for smoother, warmer highs.
Looking around the back, you'll find that instead of a conventional round port tube found on many speakers, Klipsch uses a Tractrix horn-shaped opening for smoother, more efficient airflow in and out of the cabinet. The resulting decrease in air turbulence makes for cleaner, more powerful bass with reduced port noise and low-frequency distortion.
The RP-450CA's Cerametallic™ woofers dish out smooth midrange and articulate, well-defined bass. Klipsch makes its cones out of specially treated aluminum that's strong yet lightweight, to dampen and prevent distortion. With the Reference Premiere Series, Klipsch also gave these woofers newly developed titanium voice coil formers that allow more linear movement for enhanced efficiency, lower distortion, and extended low frequency response.
Team an RP-450CA center channel speaker with these other Klipsch Reference Premiere Series speakers to create a high-impact Atmos home theater system.
What a great center speaker, plenty of sound on it's own. I'm using the Denon avr4400h and both are a great start to our theatre room.

Average Customer Review(s):
Excellent speaker! Have never enjoyed movies like this before, can hear every dialogue clearly
My 7.1 surround system had a center channel weakness with my Polk CS10. My fronts ADS L1230 originally purchased as my stereo speakers have always been dominate until now. This Klipsch RP-450CA compliments my front channels with it's wide sound field and fidelity! I am 100% pleased with the choice and look forward to years of experiencing home theater at it's finest.
What a great center speaker, plenty of sound on it's own. I'm using the Denon avr4400h and both are a great start to our theatre room.
Pros: Great sound
When my wife and I got sick of asking each other "what did they say" when watching movies and TV, I called Crutchfield. Cody recommended I adjust some settings on my Yamaha 2040 before buying a new speaker. I used the mic to do my initial set-up and after Cody's adjustments there was a noticeable improvement. I still wanted a new center and am glad I did. While it was a little bright at first, the 450 CA mellowed during to break-in period. I can hear detail I didn't before and dialogue is improved as well.
Sometimes I don't need to use my towers because this just produces so much sound that the neighbors start pounding on the walls when I only have the level set at 0.5. AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The RP450CA is a excellent center speaker, instead of sound coming from one area, the sound spreads to the side speakers sound great
Pros: Had to readjust equalizer because the speaker has excellent bass and clearity
I love Klipsch Reference Premiere Line. I upgraded my center channel from the RP-250 to the RP-450CA. I also upgraded to front RP-280 left and right front channels as well. The overall performance from this set up is amazing. The sound really is immersive, crisp, clear and well balanced. The only downside to the RP-450CA is that is is a rather large unit. More than double the size of the RP-250 It can almost completely take up the top of an average TV stand or stereo cabinet. I think their speaker design is attractive, but it is big.
Pros: Balanced, crisp, clear, immersive sound, quality build/construction, attractive design.
Cons: large, heavy
Exceeds my expectation of Klipschs center channel speaker. Completes my entertainment center. Amazing clarity. A must have!
Pros: On sale!!
Cons: Dimensions besure to check your opening to fit. I was planning on getting a new entratainment center this purchace just hurried it up.
Very happy with this purchase. Klipsch is top notch. Incredible sound.
Pros: Pristine clarity. Good base.
A very complete center channel. The amount of bass this speaker produces is impressive for its size, took a bit of calibrating to adjust everything to my liking, but it was worth the effort.
Pros: The width of this speaker complements large TVs, distributing dialog across the entire screen creating a "fuller" listing experience
Cons: Not really a con, but the speakers are visible through the speaker mesh during daylight hours.
I have other klipsch speakers and the quality of design and sound are excellent. I made this purchase partially based on reviews and actually hearing the speaker itself at another friends home. If your going up in quality, and need a very good center channel speaker I would highly recommend this one. Like other reviews have stated you will need a large area to place this speaker on as it is heavy and takes up a good amount of space. Make sure you you pay attention to the dimensions and measure before you order it. I do highly recommend this speaker!
Pros: excellent sound, price not too bad for the quality.
Cons: Heavy of course, but should be expected, and takes up a lot of space.
Sounds great with Dolby ATMOS Blue Ray movies. Cant wait to get the RP-280FA's to match
Very pleased with this purchase. Extremely clear sound. Much better than the smaller center channel that was previously used. Make sure you have room for this though, cause it is big.
Pros: Great detail
Great center speaker, clear sound with nice bass on woofer.
Pros: Clear sound
everything I expected. made movies come to life!
Pros: Precise sounding
Cons: a bit bulky for my decor
Very nice speaker. Reviews were accurate.
I love it. Looks great, sounds great.
I replaced an older PB center channel speaker with the RP450CA and was blown away with the clarity of the sound especially speech. Love it! Using it with a Denon 4400 9.1 channel receiver and a mix of PB, Mirage and other Klipsch speakers
Pros: Clear sounding and powerful sound
Cons: None except you have to have room for it as it is large
clean crisp loud sound matches the rp280s perfectly
Very good speaker. I upgraded from a 15 year old Klipsch and the differance night and day. Irs an excellent addition to my new setup
Pros: Sound looks price quality
Cons: Original packing and left on porch
This unit is the bomb!! I had the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-250C center speaker and when I upgraded....What a huge difference in sound!
I can finally hear the dialog and vocals with clarity. My previous center channel didn't have the clarity this Klipsch center channel speaker!! Great buy!!
Pros: Excellent sound. Great workmanship.
Amazing Clarity! Absolutely Amazing I love it and Will be keeping it.. TIP! while it can produce amazing sound Please learn to adjust your equalizer for the center speaker so the vocals in movie come out clear.... ex:100hz bass 1-4khz more tremble (more vocal) and so forth... just a helpful tip so you dnt have to ask "what did they say!" now you can hear it all.... but yes to get the most out of this please look into adjusting your center equalizer and enjoy the no need to blast everything just so you can try to make out what they say now you can enjoy a beautiful volume and hear everything you were meant to hear! Thank you Klipsch for making such a great product and thank you crutchfield for just being plain awesome and ZAC my rep who assisted me in the differences b/w the 450c n 450ca.
Amazing center speaker for my home theater.
Pros: Fantastic sound
Purchased this center speaker to replace my old pioneer center speaker... so far I can honestly report that I am completely blown away. The sound being put out compared to my old stuff is great. The sound is more crisp and detailed. You hear the dialogue from the movie as if it were real... just blown away really... I think I am going to do a make over to my theater system, and go with the klipsch brand. Now, I just need to do homework on the atmos sound that's out there and see which way to go with equipment and money... you can not go wrong at all with this center speaker...
Pros: Fair size for a large theater room Great sound Easy set up Can take the wattage with grace
Cons: I have not found any cons as of yet,,,, I will report as soon as I do though..
I was using a Klipsch G-28 as my center channel. The G-28 is a good speaker but the RP-450CA blows it away. The double crossover is amazing.
Pros: Clean, clear, and full sound
Cons: none so far
Fantastic sound. Truly enhances the audio from movies and TV but also added a lot to the music deliver. Highly recommended!
Pros: Sound, design aesthetics.
Cons: None, just be sure you have room for it.
Fantastic sound! I highly recommend this center channel speaker. It is large so make sure you have room.
Pros: Excellent Sound, very well built/strong.
Cons: No cons...just make sure you have room for this awesome center channel speaker.
Vivid, crisp sound. Would strongly recommend this product.
Crystal clear sound. Very happy with this purchase
Boy, you talk about the"keepers of the sound"!!!!! This center speaker is just incredible. That's just for starters!! I couldn't have bought a better centerpiece for my klipsch system. With 80% of the sound coming from this jewel, I couldn't miss with this one!!!! Its sure worth the few extra $$$. WooooooooW!!!!
Good crisp sound No problem with hearing dialogue on low value
small but powerful
Great center speaker
Disappointing I have a definitive center speaker 9080 this klipsch 450ca can't even be compared to the definitive
Pros: None for the price
Cons: Very large performance vs cost not worth the money better center channel speakers out hereCrutchfield response on 2/22/2017 John, we're sorry you're disappointed with your new speaker. Great sound and looks great with the rest of our speakers
This center channel speaker is a great compliment to the klipsch speakers I already have. The bass was an awesome surprise. I use it mainly for music but movies sound great too
Pros: great sound and look Crutchfield is awesome!!
This is the best center channel speaker I have ever owned! My only regret is that I have not purchased this sooner! Dialogue from movies and shows sound so crisp and clear!
Wow nice sound very pleased I have this hooked up to Yamaha amp RX-A1060 WITH KLIPSCH rp280fa towers and sub r-112sw nice and clear even when I crank it up good base movies sound great and music sounds great very pleased
Pros: Very nice sound
Cons: Very larg you will need plenary of room for the speaker but well worth it
First of all the walnut is absolutely stunning! The sound is incredible. This center was replacing a 13 year old Infinity Alpha 37C Center Channel Speaker which was fine, but I wanted to upgrade my entire Infinity system to Klipsch. The Klipsch RP-450CA is Perfectly matched to my RP-280FA's.
Pros: Sound and beauty
I do not know why i waited so long to get a new center channel speaker. This thing is fantastic. My advise is do not wait, just go ahead and buy one and enjoy the new sounds in your life.
Pros: great sound
Cons: none....maybe a little big for some set up's
I was very impressed with the sound quality!! Definitely a good choice for a center speaker, although the enclosure was a little big it's walnut appearance made all the difference!!
Pros: Sounds fantastic, and having those four copper woofers, and the walnut finish just makes it pop!! Very nice speaker!! I Highly recommend!!
Cons: Many people complain about the size, well it's honestly about your personal preference... If you want a speaker that's worth the money here you go!! It'll blow your mind.....
Awesome sound, goes good with the other kliisch speakers, if your looking for a center speaker, look no further, it will blew you away.
Pros: Clear sound, looks good
Cons: Make sure have space for it's big.
Upgraded from a 2011 Klipsch RC-52 II. The RC-52 II was great for a Small/Medium size room (~3,000 cu ft.). My new living room is now Large (4,860 cu ft.). The RP-450CA fills the sound void! Am running 2011 RF-52 II's as front speakers and they match great tonally. Am running a 75W per channel amp to all 7 channels. The RP-450CA high S/N ratio means less power pushed by your amp = less stress on your amp. Yes, you can run the RC-450CA as LARGE. I have a subwoofer, I set the RC-450CA to SMALL with a trim of 80Hz. And set the Subwoofer trim at 120Hz. This combination equals, for me, a great clean mid-bass overlap from 80-120Hz; making for good sound immersion.
Pros: Great efficiency = less power needed. Large sound. Clear sound. Great sound matching with other Klipsch speakers. Even if you don't have other Klipsch speaker's, check the crossover point to see how close they are.
Cons: May not fit in all media cabinets - be sure to measure.
Honestly, the reason I purchased this product is because I had a 7 inch size constraint in my entertainment center for adequate placement of my center channel speaker. After narrowing my choices, I researched customer reviews, and other reviews online. Happy with my decision and I will be adding a pair if RP280 FAs and a pair of RP260s or RP250s in the near future.
Pros: Sound, quality, value and size
Bought this to upgrade my center chanel. I had a polk audio cs20 and this it a thousand times better. Crisp clean sound totally worth full price but so happy I got it at a discount. It did confirm my worries though, that network t.v is totally mismanaging their sound and need to stop messing with the drc on their shows not everyone watches t.v. with the speakers on a t.v. or low end sound bar. Anyways I say get this speaker if you can and the price here is outstanding.
Pros: Clear vocals and does good with music as well as well constructed piece.
Cons: None for me some say the size but hey does size really metter.
The speaker was a great addition to the other klipsch speakers.
Pros: Great sound.
Paired this up with RP-280F front channel speakers. This center sounds great. New tweeter design produces great, controlled highs. Dialog on movies is very clear.
Pros: Great speaker. Very well made. Great addition for music or movies.
Absolutely fantastic center channel. This thing can be set to "Large," and doesn't need to rely on any help from the subwoofer. It produces crystal clear highs, and bellowing lows. The vocals (on music and movies) come through incredibly well. This pairs beautifully with RP-280FA. Make sure that you have the space for it!
Pros: Fantastic Sound, haven't been able to find something where I was disappointed in this center channel's performance. Impressive speaker in every way.
Cons: It is big, so that makes it almost impossible to put above the screen.
Well, this center speaker is big, and the sound is rich and dynamic. It is are part of my dream audio system. I have very discerning ears and I always wanted that system to end all systems - the one I would die with. Now I have it! I replaced a Denon receiver with the Yamaha flagship RX-A3040, and added the Klipsch RF 7 II Reference floor standing along with the Klipsch RP-450CA Center speaker and a couple 10 year old Polk bookshelf speakers. My previous floor and center speakers were Boston Acoustic VR series (ca 1995??) The result is making me happy beyond my dreams. I admit that I spent some serious money on these speakers and receiver, but how happy my ears are!!! For my test listening I started with a Diana Ross Live CD (CA 1993) - Stolen Moments. She has a world class jazz ensemble behind her in this intimate club setting and the clarity and details of the music was simply amazing (SIMPLY AMAZING). Next I chose Natalie Merchant's Tiger Lily, and it was if I had never heard her album before. It all seemed so new and fresh. I listened to the Academy of Saint Martin in-the-Fields led by Sir Neville Marriner, performing The Messiah - which was breathtaking. I finally played the Late Natalie Cole's album, Unforgettable and my hair literally stood on end when she started singing. This is my dream system - and now a dream realized. Its not so bad growing old sometimes if these are the rewards we get for being old. Thank God I still have my ears!!!
Pros: great sound!!
Cons: really big and heavy. But, I would be disappointed if they were light and flimsy
Great Center Channel Speaker, just make sure you are aware of the dimensions. And make sure you have the room for this speaker.
Pros: Crystal clear sound.
Cons: Size, you need the space for this speaker.
This is bar far the best center channel speaker you can buy. I upgraded to a Yamaha Dolby Atmos receiver and replaced an MK center channel with this beast. It is crystal clear and has lots of punch with TV and Movies but really stars with music. I am very pleased and highly recommend this speaker and all in the Klipsch Reference Premier series. Crutchfield's service and quick shipping along with best pricing was stellar as always!
Pros: Design, Cabinet Finish, Sound and Quality Materials
This speaker looks as good as it sounds!! The Walnut finish looks amazing in our basement theater. The new horn tweeter is smooth, no tinny sounds. Very satisfied with the product and of course Crutchfield delivered once again with an amazing experience!!
Pros: Sound quality, appearance, fast shipping!
As part of a Dolby Atmos upgrade to my award winning theater I purchased an entire set of 9 speakers to replace my very capable Monitor Audio Silver series. I went with the Klipsch product line mostly because I was enamored by the Klipsch Reference RP-280FA front mains with up-firing Atmos presence speakers. My speakers are driven by Yamaha's flagship receiver and are supplemented by an Outlaw Audio 5000 amp to help drive the overall array. If you read my other reviews you'll see that I really love the majority of the Klipsch gear I purchased. My only knock on the whole line is the polymer veneer (plastic) cabinetry. At these price points you should be able to get a nicer wood veneer for esthetics. I knocked the sub slightly for not having a trigger input but all in all, I am duly impressed by the tonal quality and the way these speakers pop to life during an action sequence. The center speaker is perhaps the most important speaker in your whole theater room and while I want to give this 5 stars, there is something about the tonal quality to this unit that in my large 34' x 17' room that just doesn't quite get there. I'm considering upgrading to the larger RP64 II. I suspect in a smaller theater room or in a living / family room environment this speaker would get me over the hump to 5 stars.
Pros: Matches to voice of the Klipsch line of speakers for good tonal balance.
Cons: In my large theater room I'm just a tad bit underwhelmed when I compare this to the rest of the Klipsch line.
Awesome speaker. Sounds great paired with RP-280FA fronts. I would highly recommend.
Pros: Sound awesome, look great

90° x 90° Hybrid Tractrix Horns: A redesigned Tractrix Horn utilizes a circular horn throat paired to a square horn mouth to further improve high-frequency response and extension, while enhancing imaging and dynamics. The compressed molded rubber construction adds high frequency damping to reduce harshness and improve detail. This creates the cleanest, most natural sound possible. These 90° x 90° Hybrid Tractrix Horns provide a wider sweet spot while maintaining controlled directivity of the sound.
LTS Tweeters: Behind each Tractrix Horn lies a 1" titanium tweeter with a linear travel suspension for open, natural, sound. The Linear Travel Suspension minimizes distortion for enhanced, detailed performance.
Cerametallic Woofers: The four 5.25" woofers of the RP-450CA center-channel loudspeaker feature Klipsch's distinctive, copper-colored Cerametallic material. Made with an anodized aluminum, this cone is strong and dent resistant. The anodizing process converts its inner and outer surfaces to ceramic. The outcome is a rigid cone with superb damping characteristics that will not flex or resonate at frequencies within the woofer's operating range The 5.25" woofers also employ a rubber surround for added durability.
Crossover Network: The Klipsch RP-450CA center-channel speaker's crossover network is constructed using extremely high-quality components including top-of-the-line internal wiring, polyester film-type capacitors and an air-core inductor to ensure signal purity and proper driver integration. The speaker's enhanced crossover frequencies (500/1500Hz) offer smoother on-axis and off-axis integration.
Bass Reflex MDF Enclosure: The Klipsch RP-450CA employs a bass reflex enclosure with a rear-firing Tractrix port for greater efficiency and bigger bass response. Utilizing Tractrix geometry, the all new Reference Premiere bass port allows for the most efficient, fastest air transfer from the cabinet for a clean, powerful low frequency response. The ported enclosure features a MDF cabinet finished with real wood veneers (black). The speaker's rigid cabinet offers improved internal cross-bracing to minimize panel vibrations that can color sound.
Magnetic Grille: The center-channel loudspeaker features a removable magnetic low-diffraction grille which easily snaps into place over its polymer front baffle.
Binding Posts: The Klipsch Reference Premiere series RP-450CA is equipped with sturdy binding posts to ensure a secure connection to many types of cable and connectors. The binding post terminals will accept banana plugs (single only), pin-connectors, spade-connectors, and bare wire.
Placement: The RP-450CA should be centered directly above or below your video screen. If necessary, you can place the speaker on an optional floor stand in front of and below the screen that elevates it to the correct height. Ideally, however, the speaker's front baffle should be flush with the front of the screen.
Rubber Feet: The center channel speaker comes with four self-adhesive rubber feet to secure the speaker in place and prevent any damage to your stand's or shelf's surface. The rubber feet add approximately 0.125" to the height of each speaker.

The Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-450CA center speaker is an ideal match for the Klipsch Reference Premiere RP-280FA tower speakers, both cosmetically and acoustically. If you're looking to install a 5.1.2 (5 surrounds + 1 sub + 2 Atmos speakers) Atmos system, then an Atmos-enabled receiver that's capable of 5.1.2 processing should be enough to suit your needs.
