Product Research

Tractrix Horn Technology: The Klipsch RS-B3 active soundbar speaker is equipped with two 0.75" horn-loaded textile dome tweeters with 90° x 90° Tractrix horns that deliver crisp highs and vocals, plus dual 2.5" fiber composite woofers for dynamic midrange and midbass. By incorporating highly efficient horn-loaded technology into the soundbar, all sounds are more detailed, dialog clarity is significantly improved, and overall output is maximized to cover even the largest listening areas.

DSP Controlled Bi-Amplification: The tweeters and woofers are bi-amplified and utilize a DSP-controlled crossover network. Each tweeter receives 10 watts of power, while each woofer receives 18 watts of power (for a total system power of 56 watts continuous).

Bass Reflex Enclosure: The active soundbar speaker features a Bass Reflex enclosure with side-firing ports for greater efficiency and bigger bass response. The enclosure is made of ABS and features a black metal mesh grille.

Dolby Audio Decoder: The Klipsch RS-B3 incorporates Dolby Audio for rich, clear, powerful sound. Its built-in Dolby Audio decoder allows the Klipsch soundbar system to automatically reproduce detailed, high-output sound in almost any size room no matter what format (including Dolby Digital 5.1 and 2ch PCM) of sound is coming from the TV's output.

Sound Modes & EQ Profiles: The Virtual Surround mode is designed to simulate the effect of a surround sound system. You can choose to turn the Virtual Surround mode off for stereo sound. You can also choose between two EQ profiles (Natural or Dialog Enhanced) in either Virtual Surround or Stereo mode. The Natural EQ profile provides a flat, natural frequency response, while he Dialog Enhanced EQ profile increases dialog volume for enhanced vocal clarity without increasing ambient sounds (only one EQ profile can be active at a time).

Digital & Analog Inputs: The Klipsch RS-B3 offers an optical (toslink) digital input and a stereo minijack (3.5mm) analog input. Using the optical digital connection, the soundbar accepts sound from both the TV and any device (such as a DVD/Blu-ray player or Cable/Satellite receiver) hooked up to the TV. The system supports Dolby Digital & 2ch PCM audio through its optical digital input.

Note: The digital optical output terminals of many newer flat-panel TVs only send an audio signal in 5.1ch when receiving Dolby Digital surround sound from the TV's built-in tuner, network connection, HDMI inputs, or connected USB device; and will output only 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via stereo RCA or minijack.

Bluetooth Audio Streaming: The Klipsch RS-B3 features built-in Bluetooth for wireless audio streaming of stored music, music apps, and other audio content on your Bluetooth source device (such as your smartphone, tablet, or laptop) to the Klipsch soundbar speaker system. You'll continue to use your Bluetooth source device to control playback and to view song/artist information. A simple single button press will pair your device with the RS-B3 system. Once paired, the RS-B3 speaker system will automatically re-connect to your device when within range (up to 33').

Note: The Klipsch RS-B3 does not support Bluetooth hands-free communication for phone calls.

Remote Control: The RS-B3 comes with a credit-card size IR remote control for wireless operation of the soundbar speaker system. You can also program the Klipsch RS-B3's Volume Up/Down and Mute functions into your existing TV remote for further ease-of-operation.

Note: Many newer TVs are coming with RF remotes and don't offer IR functionality. In this case, you would not be able to program the soundbar and TV remote to work together.

Mounting Options: The soundbar speaker can simply be positioned on a shelf or stand, below or above your TV. It can also be wall-mounted using its dual keyhole slots and included template (mounting screws not included).

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
Universal power supply, no subwoofer needed, good for small space, Klipsch has a great reputation for making outstanding audio and home theater products. [ THOMAS  Oct 10, 2019 ]
Klipsch sound [ R  Jun 30, 2019 ]
reputation as a quality supplier [ G  May 25, 2019 ]
On sale and respect the Klipsch name. [ Jim  May 21, 2019 ]
I have purchased this product before and had another TV that would benefit from the improvement in sound quality. [ Don  Apr 12, 2019 ]
It's Klipsch. I own a lot of their speakers for various rooms and liked the idea of no sub since we live in a condo. The "optical in" was a good feature too as we don't get any AC interference from a small audio cable running next to power lines in the cable channel. The reviews say the bass is good for something this size which doesn't surprise me given their reputation as a speaker designer. Expect to be very happy with it. [ Daniel  Jan 23, 2019 ]
Klipsch speakers are the Best Around. I visited their factory in Hope once!! Quality! [ Duellis  Dec 26, 2018 ]
Good looks, Klipsch reputation for great sound. [ E  Dec 05, 2018 ]
I have a pair of RF-3 speakers that have been great for many years , I need better sound for my Sony tv. I realize klipsh aren't built in hope Arkansas anymore, but I'm hoping the quality is still as good. I chose your company because of past experience, excellent customer service, and good value [ John  Nov 21, 2018 ]
Simple one piece .... larger speakers than most soundbar, bass reflex, do not need a subwoofer [ Rey P.  Nov 20, 2017 ]

2 questions already asked

Can a separate subwoofer be added to Klipsch RSB3 sound bar?
[ Fred  Oct 17, 2019 ]
4 answers
I do not think so,it receive sound but does not have output connection,it has bluetooth capability, but that is use for source, like if you want to use the sound bar to play music from your phone, etc, not addition, if you have a receiver then you can just add your sub with it.
[ Rey P.  Oct 17, 2019 ]
It is not designed for it, so no.
[ NICHOLAS  Oct 17, 2019 ]
I could not find a way to do so. I got this because my wife couldn't stand a bunch of wire running everywhere. Suits me. Bill Oakley
[ WILLIAM G  Oct 17, 2019 ]
Yes you can because this sound bar doesn't give you the explosive bass you looking for.
[ MIHAEL  Oct 17, 2019 ]
Klipsch sb3 soundbar and Samsung qled tv remote compatibility issues. I have connected Klipsch sb3 sound bar to my new Samsung QLED TV via toslink optical cable. I am trying to make samsung's TV remote control learn which actually happens within one foot of the distance between soundbar and remote but it's not only sporadic but will not work from 6 feet distance as week. I just saw some posts that say klipsch sound bar and Samsung tv remote is not compatible. Can you please confirm?

I cannot confirm the incompatibility of the sound bar, but we are using it with a Samsung TV (not a QLED set). We are working with 3 remotes: One for the television, one for the soundbar and one for Xfinity. No one remote will learn what another offers. The remotes appear to be tied to their own unit. We gave up trying to have one remote learn a different manufacturer's unit. Best of luck, Marc
[ Aram K.  Jul 09, 2019 ]
I have a rather simple answer, use the remote that came with the soundbar.
[ Roy  Jul 08, 2019 ]
Dont know about your issue with your samsung.but I had problems with the Klipsch turning on no matter what remote I used! As for bass I really didn't notice any!
[ DANIEL  Jul 08, 2019 ]
I use my Direct TV remote to control the Klipsch sound bar without any issues
[ BRAD  Jul 08, 2019 ]
Cant speak for the Samsung remote, but was able to pair my comcast remote and a direct TV remote to both of my Klipsch sound bars. I did cycle thru several remote codes to find one that worked
