Bang for the Buck - A Quality In Wall Speaker Worth Considering

My new home required me to shift from towers to in wall to do the inconvenient truth of doors opening into room for my tiny room designated for home theatre treatment. The Definitive DI line matched the timbre of my existing SVS Ultras and I was impressed with the speaker comparison with the DefTec just sitting on the book case as the left channel to the SVD Ultra tower side by side comparison. They are tonally accurate and using two SVS 2000 subs with a crossover at 60Hz I could not be happier at this price point. I expanded the DefTecs to the center 5.5 and the 5.5 bi-poles surrounds. Using one pair of DefTec 6.5 Rs for the atmos sound stage.

Pros: Directional tweeter horns Superior Mid Frequencies Bright Tweeter - My preference for home theater usage.

Cons: None noted,

Aesthetic Concern

These replaced wall-mounted PM 1000s that had replaced my towers, all due to wife's aesthetic concern. So far very impressed with the sound quality as well as appearance. Paired these with the 5.5 bps and still using the last vestige of non-inwall, my CS-9060 for my center, but as clear as the di 6.5lcr speakers are, replacing the center as well...for aesthetic concerns.

Pros: Sound quality; ease of installation; appearance

Cons: none

Excellent speaker!

Installed three of these units. Driven by the Denon ARV-X4500H and they sound great! I was concerned the 4500 wouldn't be powerful enough, no worries though. I also did four DI8R in the ceiling. Running an older supercube 1 sub. You'll definitely need a sub to round out the sound. I also wanted to give a shout out the customer service team, some how one of the grills was dinged up in shipping. I had the replacement grill in hand in a couple of days! Thank you!

Outstanding In-Wall Speakers

Outstanding Speakers. As part of family room remodel, replaced old Polk Audio Monitor tower speakers with two DI 6.5LCR's placed in the wall slightly above, and to the left and right of the TV, in my 4.1 set up. The LCR's are relatively high so the feature that allows you to direct the tweeter downward was very effective for the soundstage and very much appreciated. The environmental EQ on the Tweeter has also paid off because we have a very modern, minimalist layout and the EQ lets you adjust the tweeter tone accordingly. Coming from the Polk towers I was worried about he bass, however, these produce solid bass. However, in the end I coupled these with the Def Tech SuperCube 4000 subwoofer and could not be happier. The subwoofer protects the LCR's and the sound blends seamlessly between the two as I set the filters on both at 90hz from my Onkyo receiver. This set up can get loud quickly and effortlessly. Totally recommend these speakers for anyone looking for a high end in wall set up.

Pros: Excellent performance, features add value, blends well with subwoofer.

Cons: None
