Crisp Clear Overhead delights

Crystal clear performance overhead. I installed these in a client's all ceiling 5.1 system (yeah yeah, I know, but it was their requirement). This is used as front left/right channels as well as L/R Surrounds with a UIW RCS II as the Center and using aimable tweeters. These pair nicely with the DefTech UIW RCS II and do great as surrounds for both Home Theater as well as musical uses. If you do decide to pair these with the UIW RCS II, consider adding a separate stereo amp (if you have Pre-Outs to do so) to add some extra juice and headroom. I say this because that RCS is more sensitive than these and will stand out in your sound stage. While the specs say recommended power is 10-100 watts, the manual will tell you that these bad boys can handle up to 225 watts! You don't need it, but it helps. As far as bass, look, they can reproduce frequencies down to a subwoofer level, but they don't have a built in back box and you should really be crossing these over no higher than 50-60 hz and using a sub. If you just want them for crisp, clear sound production, they're up for literally anything. Installation: ingenious system where you hold them into place and tighten 4 screws, which then pop out 4 different arms to grab the drywall on the top and hold it into place. Magnetic grilles are nice. We could not see how these could possibly accept banana plugs, so we went bare wire into the spring-loaded posts, which are more than adequate. Spring for th

Pros: Crisp, clear sound reproduction Aimable tweeters Rated to handle up to 225 watts Ingenious installation Slick grilles

Cons: Doesn't seem to be a way to accept banana plugs
