ProCinema 6D Speaker System: The Definitive Technology ProCinema 6D is a compact, high-performance 5.1 surround sound speaker system that delivers full-range audio for movie and music soundtracks. The ProCinema 6D system consists of 4 matching satellite loudspeakers for the front & rear channels, a center-channel loudspeaker, and a powered subwoofer.

Definitive Speaker Technology: The ProCinema 6D surround sound speaker system utilizes Definitive speaker technology that includes a Pressure Couple Radiator Design with BDSS driver technology, plus a patented Linear Response Waveguide system to ensure superior high-performance sound.

• Pressure Coupled Radiator Design: The ProCinema 6D's center and satellite loudspeakers provide clear, high-definition sound by pressure-coupling Definitive's exclusive BDSS technology drivers to equal-sized mid/bass radiators cleverly placed on the outside of the cabinet. This technique doubles the lower-midrange radiating area of the speaker without increasing the size of the enclosure. The result is a warm and life-like sound.
• BDSS Drivers: Patented BDSS drivers are used in the center and satellite loudspeakers, providing greater excursion and output that results in superior midrange detail and punchier bass compared to drives of similar size. The BDSS drivers feature balanced double surrounds that support the cone at two points to provide better mechanical stability for longer, more linear excursion, and improved damping to suppress parasitic cone resonance. The BDDS drivers also feature polymer cones, high temperature voice-coils, optimized magnet structure, and die-cast alloy baskets for optimal midrange/midbass performance.
• Aluminum Dome Tweeters: The center and satellite loudspeakers feature a 1" pure aluminum dome tweeter that delivers a smooth high frequency response improved dispersion for a rich and balanced listening experience.
• Linear Response Waveguide: A patented Linear Response Waveguide around the BDSS drivers and tweeter extends both on- and off-axis frequency response, while improving dispersion for a more natural sound with precise imaging.

4 Matching Satellite Loudspeakers: The four matching satellite loudspeakers are used for your home theater system's front left, front right, rear left, and rear right channels. The satellite loudspeakers include a 1" aluminum dome tweeter for crystal clear highs and detailed stereo imaging. They also feature a 3.25" BDSS driver paired with a 3.25" bass radiator to ensure full-range, room-filling sound. A Linear Response Waveguide around the BDSS driver and tweeter extends both on- and off-axis frequency response, while improving dispersion imaging. The drivers are housed in a non-resonant MDF cabinet with low-diffraction construction for uncolored sound. The speakers are equipped with binding-post terminals that will accept bare wire (up to 12-gauge), pin-connectors, spade-lugs, and banana-plugs (single or dual).

Center-Channel Loudspeaker: The horizontal center-channel loudspeaker includes a 1" aluminum dome tweeter for crystal clear dialogue. The center speaker also feature two 3.25" BDSS drivers paired with two 3.25" bass radiators to ensure full-bodied vocals. A Linear Response Waveguide around the BDSS drivers and tweeter extends both on- and off-axis frequency response, while improving dialog and vocal detail. The drivers are housed in a non-resonant MDF cabinet with low-diffraction construction for uncolored sound. The speaker is equipped with a set of binding-post terminals that will accept bare wire (up to 12-gauge), pin-connectors, spade-lugs, and banana-plugs (single or dual).

Powered Subwoofer: The included powered subwoofer delivers deeper, tighter, more accurate room-filling bass via an 8" polymer woofer and 8" bass radiator. The included powered subwoofer features a 250-watt Class D amplifier driving a high-excursion 8" front-mounted direct-radiating woofer that is pressure-coupled to an 8" low-bass passive radiator on the bottom of the enclosure. The net radiating area of the powered sub is 27% greater than a single 10" woofer, but with better speed, pitch definition, and control. The powered sub's enclosure features non-resonant MDF construction for uncolored bass.

• Variable Controls: The powered sub features a convenient side-mounted volume control that allows you to perfectly adjust the volume of the subwoofer to match your speaker system and room as well as suit your own personal sonic preferences. The powered subwoofer also has a rear-panel low-pass filter control (40-150Hz @ 24dB/oct) which ensures perfect blending of its sound with your other speakers. In addition, the powered sub has a built-in speaker level high-pass crossover preset at 100 Hz (6dB/oct).
• LFE & Speaker-Level Connections: The powered sub has a low-level direct LFE input for Dolby Digital/DTS soundtracks, which bypasses the sub's built-in crossover network. If you are connecting the subwoofer to an AV receiver without a dedicated subwoofer or LFE preamp output, but does features a stereo RCA output, you will need to use a stereo RCA cable along with an RCA Y-adapter. The powered sub is also equipped with speaker-level inputs and outputs for connecting the sub to your AV receiver and front speakers.
• Auto Turn-On/Off: The powered subwoofer has a special power circuit which automatically turns the sub on when it senses an audio signal and turns off when there is no signal present, so it does not require an on-off switch.

Note: The powered subwoofer is not wireless.

Mounting & Placement Options: The Definitive Technology ProCinema 6D system offers flexible mounting and placement options for its four matching satellite loudspeakers, center-channel speaker, and powered subwoofer.

• Satellite Speakers: The satellite loudspeakers can be placed on a stand or shelf, or mounted on the wall or ceiling. A pre-installed pedestal foot allows the speaker to fit securely and safely on a flat mounting surface. The satellites can also be mounted on optional speaker stands (sold separately - see Accessories Tab), or mounted on the wall using the integrated keyhole slots or optional brackets (sold separately - see Accessories Tab). The front satellite speakers should usually be placed 6'-8' apart and kept away from the side walls and corners. The rear satellite speakers can be mounted on the side or rear walls behind the main listening position. The front and rear speakers may be angled in towards the listening position or left parallel with the wall according to your personal listening taste. Normally, angling the speakers in so that they point directly at the listeners will result in more detail and greater clarity.
• Center Speaker: The center-channel speaker can be mounted on a stand or shelf; or even wall-mounted. The center speaker has two threaded inserts (1/4"-20) on the back, which can be used with a pair of optional brackets (sold separately - see Accessories Tab) to mount the speaker to your wall; the center speaker does not offer keyhole slots. The center-channel speaker should be placed above or below the center of your television. The center speaker has an adjustable foot which allows you to adjust the vertical angle of the speaker in case the center-channel is mounted below or above the main listening position.
• Powered Sub: Because low-frequency information is non-directional, the powered subwoofer can be located practically anywhere in your listening room that is most convenient. For maximum output, the subwoofer should be placed in a corner or against the wall.
