If you listen to R&B or Jazz or Rap, this is NOT the speaker for you. I returned it for the DB4S and am so happy I spent the extra $500 because it is so worth it! This speaker if fine for light and easy listening. If you are looking for a strong base response, this is not your speaker. I would think most customers looking for a sub from B&W expect better performance.
Pros: Cost-effective for easy and light music listeners.
Cons: Sub loses control in mid-volume R&B and rap music. If you are looking for deep base, spend the extra $500 and buy the DB4S. Or you will end up exchanging this for something else.

Initially i bought the ASW608 to make a 5.1 setup with the 600 series B&W front and rears. I found that the ASW608 wasn't as impactful in some scenes as i wanted with playing the full bass range in a movie sound track to match the 600s and my onkyo 840 receiver. Returned in and swapped for the ASW610XP and that hit the mark perfectly. I recommend this paired with the B&W 603 towers, HTM6 center and 607 bookshelfs, to make a great 5.1 setup. The sound on this system is just as good as other systems i have heard or 2x the price.
