I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't for 3 annoyances 1. Via Optical Cable, digital music resolution higher than 24-bit/96kHz will not play (you will get silence) - thus I'm forced to plug Network/CD player and the Turntable into Schiit SYS, then plug that into Formation Audio - which defeats the purpose of having Formation Audio to a large degree 2. Needs more input than just 1 Optical and 1 RCA. How about 1 more RCA? 3. Response lag is terrible - but that is in line with the lag I've experienced with Formation Wedge too

Pros: Sound Ease of Set Up Design

Cons: Lack of support for input of digital music resolution higher than 24-bit/96kHz Number of Source Input Response lag Price

It's expensive for what it does, but it works flawlessly as an interface between my local digital music library and the Formation speakers across three rooms of my house. The lack of delay between speakers in different rooms is pretty amazing. It's being fed by an Intel NUC media server with Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt DAC, and all aspects of the sound are great.

Pros: It works flawlessly. The onboard ADC/DAC seem to be very high quality.

Cons: Pretty expensive as not much more than a 'bridge' between Formation products and other components.

I'm a 'wired two-channel audio guy' - have been for years. There are a thousand good things about that; but I've been struggling to get my CD output out of my listening room and computer and streaming sound into my listening room. I've postponed any purchases until now. The Formation Audio is the solution. It provides me with a way not to toss my 1000's of CDs, and listen to them anywhere, as well as allowing me to listen to streaming music on my two-channel system. Coupled with the B + W Wedge I now have music throughout the house. This is a great piece of Audio equipment. Excellent build quality, relatively easy to use (I'm no tech guy), and very cool looking.
