About the Bowers & Wilkins T7

The acclaimed company's first Bluetooth-powered portable

The Bowers & Wilkins T7 delivers top-flight sound, everywhere you go.
The acclaimed company's first Bluetooth-powered portable
When new compact speakers arrive at Crutchfield, we often compare them to Bowers & Wilkins models. Why are they the measuring stick for performance? The company's stand-out speakers take up little space while consistently producing premium sound. The Bowers & Wilkins T7 is their first truly portable speaker.
It's about the size of a hardcover beach-read and easily slips into a bag or tote. The rechargeable battery gives you 18 hours of music on the go. Play music wirelessly from your phone or tablet via high-fidelity Bluetooth aptX® audio coding.
Exclusive Micro Matrix™ technology
Notice the see-through honeycomb frame around the T7? Not only does this give the speaker a unique look, it also serves an acoustic purpose. Made of small, interlocking panels collectively known as the Micro Matrix system, this sturdy cabinet keeps the T7 stable as the dual drivers and bass radiators rock out. This exclusive Bowers & Wilkins technology was originally developed for their larger high-end speakers. The structure acts as a sponge, soaking up music-killing resonance.
From our article Bowers & Wilkins T7 wireless speaker review
"With the T7, [Sly and the Family Stone's live album] felt really fun and full of energy. Sly's voice was front and center as he sang and shouted his way through the animated call-and-response performance. Horns, harmonicas, and backup vocals all came through clear and natural."
— Jeff Miller, A/V writer
Big sound from a small speaker
Bowers & Wilkins find ways to make the most out of any size cabinet. The T7's two 2" full-range drivers are constructed of lightweight, quality parts and deliver a natural sound. Two high-output radiators enhance the bass. Finally, the sound has been tweaked and fine-tuned to make sure you have a smooth listening experience, everywhere.
Bluetooth with aptX
The Bowers & Wilkins T7 features aptX audio coding. This is an advanced type of Bluetooth wireless streaming that retains virtually all the detail of the audio signal it carries. And the speaker is backwards-compatible with earlier forms of Bluetooth. So you can play your music wirelessly from almost any portable device and still enjoy outstanding sound.

Features
Bluetooth Music Streaming: The Bowers & Wilkins T7 features Bluetooth A2DP audio streaming and AVRCP control, as well a aptX audiophile-quality streaming. You'll be able to wirelessly pair your Bluetooth-enabled Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphone/tablet, Windows PC, Mac computer, Blackberry, and more. Up to eight Bluetooth-enabled devices can be paired, but only one device can be used at a time.
- A2DP Audio Streaming: Via Bluetooth A2DP, you'll be able to wirelessly stream stored music and music apps from your compatible Bluetooth-enabled device to the Bowers & Wilkins T7 speaker system.
- AVRCP Playback Control: Through Bluetooth AVRCP, you can control basic playback functions of your wirelessly streamed music from the T7's top-panel controls. Playback controls include Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track.
- aptX Compatible: The B & W T7 even employs aptX audio coding technology for lossless, audiophile-quality streaming from compatible aptX-enabled devices, like Android (OS 4.0+) smartphones & tablets.
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the B & W T7.
Class D Amplification w/ DSP + High-Quality DACs: Class D amplification (12Wx2ch) and digital signal processing (DSP) keeps the T7 sounding clean and balanced, even at high volumes for distortion free sound. High-quality digital-to-analog converters (DACs) offers superior sound quality from your Bluetooth and aptX streamed music.
Dual 2" Full-Range Drivers & Twin Bass Radiators: Two front-firing 2" full-range drivers are specially designed to produce the best possible sound from a small speaker. Each driver is mounted in a ridged steel basket, keeping movement tight and controlled, while allowing ample air flow. The T7 also utilizes unique rear-firing twin bass radiators that have been designed for the optimum balance of movement and stiffness, so they deliver midbass and bass with serious depth and impact.
Rigid Cabinet Design: The B & W T7's polycarbonate enclosure employs a rigid honeycomb of interlocking cells that brace the cabinet and reduce vibration and distortion.
Intuitive Controls: The T7's controls are designed to be as easy to use as possible. The speaker keeps buttons to a minimum, while an array of simple light signals and audio cues convey basic functions quickly and intuitively.
Aux Input: In addition to Bluetooth wireless connectivity, the T7 is fitted with a minijack (3.5mm) input for connecting an external audio device with a headphone jack or analog output.
Rechargeable Battery: The Bowers & Wilkins T7 features a built-in rechargeable lithium-ion battery which provides up to 18 hours of playback. The included AC power adapter charges the built-in battery and provides power to the Bluetooth speaker system. A full charge takes approximately 4 hours.
Auto Standby: If the T7 is unused for more than 10 minutes it will automatically enter sleep mode. Wake the T7 by starting a Bluetooth audio stream from a paired device. The T7 will also wake from sleep mode if either the Bluetooth or power button is pressed. If T7 is unused for more than 20 minutes it will switch off automatically.

Smooth, detailed, refined sound with a wide frequency response. For those who have hi-end sound systems, you will appreciate this wireless speaker's sound and built quality. Stylish and solidly built (like a brick). Like the 18 hour run time between charges.
