Customizable enterprise-grade wireless router

The Linksys WRT3200ACM router offers broad Wi-Fi coverage and super-fast data transfer speeds for large business properties. Its dual-band network offers faster network speeds, better range, and reduced interference from other devices. And it's open-source compatible, for users who are willing and able to customize.

There's an enterprise-grade 1.8 GHz dual-core processor inside, that uses advanced MU-MIMO (multi-user, multiple-input, multiple-output) technology to keep data flowing smoothly to several wireless devices simultaneously. The router's four high-powered antennas create a broad, powerful umbrella of wireless coverage, and you can use beamforming to "aim" stronger Wi-Fi where it's needed most.

Setup, control, and customization

The free Linksys Smart Wi-Fi app helps you set up, monitor, and control your new router. You'll have access to some very useful features:

  • parental controls let you restrict access, control usage, and block specific devices from accessing the internet
  • prioritize devices that need the most speed — for instance, a 4K TV
  • create a separate, password-protected Wi-Fi network for guests

And if you're an advanced user, there's another way to customize the router for your needs. The WRT3200ACM is compatible with OpenWRT and DD-WRT — open source, Linux-based operating systems — so you can truly make it your own.

Convenient connections

It's easy to forget about the advantages of making direct connections to your router. The WRT3200ACM provides LAN ports so you can directly connect devices like desktop computers or home automation control hubs, taking some strain off of your wireless coverage, and ensuring top speed through the wired connection. There's a USB 3.0 port and an eSATA port for connecting to external storage drives, so all of your stored content can be available on your wireless network.

Product Highlights:

  • 802.11ac simultaneous dual-band 2.4 & 5GHz Wi-Fi (600 Mbps + 2600 Mbps)
  • four high-powered radio amplifiers with external antennas broadcast strong Wi-Fi® signal
  • enterprise-grade 1.8 GHz dual-core processor can process large amounts of traffic
  • MU-MIMO technology lets router communicate with multiple devices simultaneously

  • WiFi router
  • 4 Antennas
  • AC power adapter (attached 58" DC cord)
  • 58" Ethernet cable

Good router, beastly processor inside. Only problem I had was that it has a known 5Ghz wireless band, only works for about an hour than kicks the wireless off and 10 minutes later it works again.

Linksys WRT3200ACM

John from Mc Farland, WI on 1/15/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

So far so good. I've had it a couple of weeks and have noticed when entire family is online, no more slowdowns or wifi disconnects. I bought it to install DD-WRT but haven't gotten to it yet. Default software is pretty good, although I'm not thrilled with the default parental controls, combined with Windows account controls, they are adequate. My Pixel speed test went from 5-25MB/s download to closer to my actual max of 60MB/s download.

Pros: Easy setup WiFi is super fast App to control router if pretty nice

Cons: 5Ghz isn't that great in my house so I've disabled it.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Delivery and price product great as usual. However, this device has a firmware or hardware problem. Every 2 to 3 days it must be rebooted. I have seen this on other posting too. Hopefully, linksys will acknowledge and correct this problem.5

Pros: Great speed

Cons: Unreliable, manufacture defect in my opinion.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used to have a WRT54GL for years and years but it could not keep up with the streaming (and it still works) so I decided to buy this one hoping it would continue the legacy. I could not be more wrong. This router ran for about three month when it started having Wifi dropouts on both bands to the end that the low band (2.4GHz) disappeared completely. So far I have to restart the router at least once a week to keep it going. I do not think I will buy a Linksys again...

Crutchfield response on 9/11/2017 After receiving Michael's feedback, we looked up his order and found that his router is still under warranty. While his order is beyond Crutchfield's 60-day return policy, he can contact Linksys at 800-546-5797 for further information about the 1-year warranty on this router.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Set up was fairly straight-forward, with the only curve coming when the instructions did not clearly state the router password to use while setting it up to a wired desk-top. Linksys customer service was quick and excellent and soon I had the beast functioning. Works great in our 2200 sq. ft. 2 story home; after a couple of weeks have yet to have a dropped signal anywhere in the house or outside.

Pros: Relatively easy set up (and I'm not very tech savvy), easily accommodates four active users.

Cons: Less than clear instructions for set up. But excellent customer service made up for it.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This router works extremely well in all wireless applications. I did have to use Linksys support and it proved to be top notch also. You will not go wrong with this router. Crutchfield is also a top tier place to buy and I encourage trying to buy from them if possible. Other giant online retailers are trying to put all competition out to pasture.......and that isn't a good thing for any consumer.

Pros: Fast and powerful Nice looking Good technical support

Cons: None

DLNA & UPnP Compliant: The Linksys WRT3200ACM router supports DLNA & UPnP for connectivity and streaming between compatible network devices. The Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) and Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) both have a set of guidelines that allow interconnectivity between network devices.

  • Universal Plug and Play (UPnP): UPnP allows devices that are connected to a network to easily discover each other and automatically create a working configuration. By enabling UPnP, you will be able to automatically forward the needed ports for a certain device or application. Examples of UPnP-capable devices include web cameras, gaming consoles, routers, computers, VOIP, and mobile devices. This is very useful especially if you want to do data sharing, communicate with another device in the network, or for entertainment purposes such as video conferencing and gaming.
  • Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA): DLNA is an international collaboration of Consumer Electronics (CE), computing industry and mobile device companies. They developed a concept of wired and wireless interoperable networks where digital content such as photo, music, and videos can be shared through consumer electronics, personal computers and mobile devices in and beyond your home. DLNA-enabled products are designed to be easy to install, affordable, must interoperate with each other without requiring the consumer to undergo complex or tedious setup, and configuration for connection between devices.
Note: In general, all DLNA-capable devices are also UPnP-capable since the former is derived from the later. Also, DLNA uses UPnP to discover and control different devices.

Advanced Security Modes: The Linksys WRT3200ACM supports WEP, WPA2 Personal, WPA2 Enterprise, WPA2/WPA Mixed Personal, and WPA2/WPA Enterprise on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. DMZ & Port Forwarding: The DMZ feature allows one local user to be exposed to the Internet for use of a special-purpose service such as Internet gaming and Videoconferencing (VC). The DMZ hosting forwards all the ports at the same time to one computer. Port Forwarding is more secure compared to enabling the DMZ feature because it only opens the ports you want to open.

Wireless Scheduler: The Wireless Scheduler feature of the Linksys WRT3200ACM allows you to turn Off or On the wireless networks, including the Guest networks at your preferred time.

Firmware Updates: You can update the router's firmware automatically or manually. Click here for the latest firmware updates.
