Quality Product, Annoying Install

I just finished installing this on my 2013 VW Tiguan. It's nice looking and well-made like most Weathertech products. As another reviewer mentioned, installation is tricky. The instruction sheet left something to be desired. The pictures were poor quality and there was no text detailing the process. I finally figured out how to attach the mounting clips but I had to relocate them a couple of times to get the deflector correctly positioned and squared up. Once that was done I was able to run down the screws and complete the install. You do have to do some flexing to get the screws started, but the material is very strong and there's really no danger of breaking it. Take your time, and take plenty of measurements to make sure it's even on both sides and not crooked. It took me 75-80 minutes start to finish. Most of that was spent deciphering the instructions and triple checking that everything was centered and straight. I went for a drive to try it out, and it really does cut down on wind in the front seats, but it is also noisier in my opinion. It seems like most of the airflow is being directed into the back seat now, and when I got up to speed the package tray/cargo cover started actually bouncing up and down from the wind. Anyway, I like the look of it, but the install was definitely more work than I was expecting. Again, it wasn't difficult, but it was time consuming and awkward. If I had known how involved it was I would have left it to someone who's done it before.

Pros: Well-built, good quality Attractive Wind directed away from front seats

Cons: Install was more complicated than it probably should have been Awkward mounting system Poor quality instructions, online instructions were generic More wind noise

Mazda RX8 Deflector

The deflector adds a nice look to the car and it lessens the wind noise when the sunroof is open.

Pros:

Cons: The installation was a little difficult. I had to bend it to the point I thought I was going to break it in order to install it because the screws that are supplied to install it are short. It should be installed with another person.
