About the GoPro Light Mod
The GoPro Light Mod can be top-mounted or side-mounted on a GoPro HERO8 camera for increased illumination. It's rugged and waterproof down to 33 feet for added visibility in underwater photos and videos.
Note: GoPro Media Mod required.
It has four levels of brightness so you can adjust to suit your environment:
- Level 1: 20 lumens
- Level 2: 60 lumens
- Level 3: 125 lumens, 120 lux at 1 meter
- Overdrive mode: 200 lumens, 200 lux at 1 meter (maximum brightness for up to 30 seconds)
Battery life varies by brightness level: one hour at Level 3, two hours at Level 2, and six hours at Level 1. There's also a strobe mode for safety and personal visibility when you're in a remote location.

Overview: The GoPro Light Mod is an LED light designed for use with the HERO8 Black action cam. It has 10 LED lights with four selectable levels of brightness. It has a built-in rechargeable battery that charges via USB-C (cable included). The Light Mod comes with a clip-on light diffuser and a "2-finger" adapter for mounting the light in a standard GoPro mount to use the device as a standalone light. Light Mod is waterproof down to 33 feet.
Note: Attaching the Light Mod to the HERO8 Black requires the GoPro Media Mod (sold separately).
Power: The built-in rechargeable battery charges via the includes USB-C cable. The USB charging port is located on the side of the device, behind a waterproof locking door. The battery charges in approximately 1.5 hours. The battery LED, located beside the Power button, pulses during charging, and glows green when the battery level is 41-99%, amber when the battery level is 11-40%, or red when the battery level is 1-10%.
Brightness Levels: The Light Mod offers three levels of illumination, plus a Strobe mode for signaling and visibility. Pressing the top-mounted power button cycles through the levels. A quick double-press of the power button activates the Overdrive Mode, which boosts illumination to 200 lumens (200 lux @ 1m) for approximately 30 seconds. The estimated battery life is dependent upon the selected illumination level:

Light Diffuser: The Light Mod comes with a clip-on light diffuser which softens the light output. The color temperature of the Light Mod is 5700K without the diffuser, and 5000K with the diffuser. The CRI (Color Rendering Index) is 90+.
Mount Adapter: The included Mount Adapter fits any standard GoPro mount, and allows you to attach the light to numerous GoPro accessories, such as clips, tripods, grips, and straps.
