Q
Can the stylus/cantilever be replaced without replacing the whole cartridge? Seems like it should be based on the look of the construction, but I'm not seeing replacement styli readily available anywhere, including crutchfield?

Yes, this has an interchangeable stylus. This is a sweet sounding cart, detailed but not bright. Very good choice!
[ ANTHONY  May 21, 2021 ]
A
As far as I know the stylus alone can be replaced. I sure hope so. I believe sumiko website offers this replacement.

They are available,, just not through Crutchfield at the moment.. The Amethyst is the flagship of the Oyster line so it is not interchangeable like the others, Olympia, Moonstone, Rainier, etc.

Q
How difficult is it to replace the Ortofon red cartridge on a project debut carbon with the Sumiko Amethyst?
[ THOMAS P  Jun 09, 2020 ]
1 answer
A
Not difficult. Tedious perhaps because of the small screws but shouldn't be too bad. Our tech support can help you through it if you get stuck.
