Customer Q&A

3 questions already asked

Q
What is the stylus type on this model? Is it a "nude" eliptical type, or a shibata type? Or something else?
[ ROBERT  Apr 28, 2022 ]

A
It is a conventional bonded eliptical stylus. Nude types are made with stylus and armature built together supplying a lower mass. Depending on what type of tone arm you have, you may not notice a difference. All things are variable and add up. I have a very low mass tone arm with this cartridge as it is and you just can't beat it for the money. I have spent twice as much without receiving the balanced quality of this unit.

Robert,I'm pretty sure it's a regular elliptical styli, nevertheless it sounds absolutely amazing for the price

According to the Crutchfield website the Moonstone has a "0.3-0.7 micron elliptical diamond stylus"! I believe this is consistent with the Sumiko website.
