Much more comfortable than L cushion. And I love the greater soundstage and separation, fuller sound. Slight loss of closeness but I solved that with simple fix. I made a circle of 1" elastic fabric with just enough stretch to keep it wrapped around the cushions. Makes the sound close again without losing the wide soundstage. Very happy with G cushion.

Use On Any Grado

john-pa from Pennsylvania on 11/19/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Grado intends these simple hunks of foam as wear-out replacements for their higher end headphone models where they are standard, but these will easily fit on any Grado can. I bought these for use on a new SR-80e and although they are pricy for what they are, I am not at all sorry. Just pull off the on-ear stock pads and pop on these circumaural pads and you get the interesting hybrid of an open-style headphone with around-the-ear comfort and without spending what Grado wants for their 1000 model (though you still miss out on the other improvements). This change alters the sound of the SR-80's somewhat, but I like this difference too. It seems to be even more open and natural, probably because the sound is striking your entire outer ear rather than just being directed narrowly into your ear-canal. And if you ever get tired of either the sound or the fit, you can just pop the original pads back on in a few seconds.

Pros: Fits on any Grado Improves comfort More natural sound

Cons: Pricy

Nice but not the Price

Casemiro from Fairfax, VA on 3/6/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The G-cushions on my Grado SR225 are much more comfortable than the originals, maybe a trivial change in the sound, but acceptable. However, there is no way they are worth the price. While I'm confident that they are constructed with pure acoustics in mind, the material is cheap, formed foam. I'd feel better about the purchase if it cost about $20.

Pros: Comfortable

Cons: Cheap looking, overpriced.

Comfortable Cushions!

Barry W from Clear Lake, Tx on 11/1/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These work great on my SR325is. Sound is great and G-cushions are much more comfortable than the originals. Price seems high, but they are worth it. At first I thought the bass may have been attenuated a bit in the lowest frequencies, but now after having them for I while I don't notice the difference. Overall, I think they are great and when they wear out I'll be ordering another pair!

Pros: Very comfortable. Sound Great.

Cons: None!

Pricey But Worth The Cost

Larry from Grass Valley, CA on 9/7/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm rating these a five simply because they are the exact factory ear pads and were designed to be easily replaced, unlike those on some other very expensive headphones I've owned. Given the GS1000s cost around $1,000, having the ability to install brand new ear pads is a big plus (Would you really want to use those that someone else wore in the first place?).

Pros: Exact Factory Replacements.

Cons: Cost Obviously More Than They Should.

Grado G-cushion

Crutchfield customer from Vermont on 8/6/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very comfortable. They also fit the Grado 325is. If you don't like the S cushion and it hurts your ears, this cushion should solve your problems. There is minimal change in audio quality and they fit perfectly. They are very easy to install and fit perfectly on the 325is'.

Pros: Comfortable, Stay in place, Easy to install

Cons: Cost (but it's worth it)

A must have for any Grado's

Bainbridge from Charlotte, NC on 3/10/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I got a pair of Grado's sr325is and couldn't stand the fact that they were on ear. The sound is amazing but I was on the edge of sending them back and figured I would give this a try sense crutchfield is known for their return policy. I was concerned about upgrading the pads would effect the sound stage negatively, but it was not. This is a costly upgrade but one Grado should have already made.

Pros: Comfortable! No negative soundstage changes.

Cons: Costly but worth it.

Grado G-cushion

Latinskilz from Brooklyn,NY on 11/1/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are my first pair of Grado 325is and where I read reviews of people saying that the original foam were hard on your ears I opted upgrade to these G-cushion and I am so happy I did even though I which back and forth because the original give you tighter base and the G-cushions give you more soundstage.

Pros: Great on the ears, and you great great soundstage.

Cons: you lose the tightness of the bass.

Best cushion for Grado

hardasdf from Phoenix, AZ on 2/2/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I use them on Grado 325i and wonder why I haven't done it earlier. Coming from comfy Sennheiser cans I just couldn't get used to with the Grado's stock cushion. G cushion will sit around your ears instead of top of them so you do need to adjust the position that the sound doesn't leaked or misdirected. Overall this the best upgrade I've ever made on the headphone.

Pros: Comfortable, wonderful sound with the correct position

Cons: none
