Our take on the Mohu Leaf Pro

The Leaf Pro is the latest version of Mohu's best performing super-thin TV antenna. It mounts easily to a wall, or just about anywhere. The Leaf Pro can receive free over-the-air HDTV broadcasts from multiple directions, so you don't have to move it to pick up signals from different TV towers.

Mohu keeps improving their super-thin antennas

The Leaf Pro is the latest version of Mohu's best performing super-thin TV antenna. It mounts easily to a wall, or just about anywhere. The Leaf Pro can receive free over-the-air HDTV broadcasts from multiple directions, so you don't have to move it to pick up signals from different TV towers.

The Leaf Pro's sophisticated super-thin design is modeled after a mud flap antenna designed for the U.S. military. It can pull in stations in the UHF and high-band VHF ranges (channels 7-51). You'll generally get the best reception if you can place the antenna fairly high on a wall or close to a window, away from the TV and other components. The Leaf Pro is white on one side and black on the other, and is also paintable for even greater room décor adaptability.

Mohu's signal amplifier boosts reception range

The supplied high-performance antenna amplifier uses patent-pending technology to increase reception range while filtering out the RF noise that can harm picture quality. This antenna/amplifier combo will help you receive more stations, while also producing a clearer picture on stations with less-than-perfect reception. The compact amplifier module connects between the Leaf Pro and your TV.

The amplifier is USB powered — there's a separate cord that can draw power off any standard USB port on your TV. One advantage of USB power is that the amplifier only draws power when the TV is turned on, instead of 24/7.

Great picture but limited reception!

Kelly from Rochester, NY on 1/23/2018

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I live in a former commercial building (heavy brick and steel), mounted antenna high on East facing window. Broadcast towers clustered on a hill 8 miles to the SE, prevailing winds W to E. ABC, CBS and PBS are rock solid, NBC if its not windy or snowing, and FOX not at all. Neighbor with a smaller Leaf mounted on a wall in a wood frame house gets all those channels and more! The science behind any interior mounted antenna obviously isn't black and white but very dependent on multiple factors, presumably building construction in my case. I feel the Leaf Pro is a very high quality product, the picture quality is noticeably better than cable, but it loses a star because it still can't pull in some signals 8 miles away through a pane of glass. If you live in a normal house you'll probably be fine.

Pros: High quality, ease of set-up, relatively good value.

Cons: Reception is highly dependent on surrounding environmental factors.

Mud-Flap style Antenna: The Mohu Leaf 65 indoor antenna is paper thin and modeled after a discreet mud-flap style antenna designed for the US Military. The Leaf 65 which is the largest antenna of the Leaf family, boasts the same award-winning paper-thin, omni-directional, and reversible features.

65 Mile Range:  The Leaf 65 antenna performs best within 65 miles of TV transmission towers. Go here and enter in your zip-code to find out which free over-the-air HDTV channels are available in your area.

SignaLift Technology: Leaf 65's patented SignaLift technology is exceptional at receiving VHF channels compared to other indoor antennas. SignaLift picks up more channels than ever before, including difficult-to-reach lower frequency channels. With its patented Jolt amplifier, cellular and FM signals are filtered out, letting you pull in a clearer picture, receive more channels, reduce dropouts and increase your overall experience with broadcast television.

Amplifier w/ Clean Peak Filter Technology: The included digital amplifier with Clean Peak Filter Technology is designed to amplify TV stations and filter out any RF signals that can hinder picture quality. The digital amplifier allows you to pull in a clearer picture, more stations, and increase overall performance.

USB/AC Powered: The Leaf 65 antenna's digital amplifier is powered via an integrated USB cable, which allows you to power the amplifier using an open USB port on the back of your TV. The advantage of doing so is that the amplifier will only draw power when the TV is turned on, eliminating parasitic power consumption when the amplifier isn't needed. If you do not have an open USB port on the back of your TV, the Leaf 65 also includes a USB/AC power adapter that will enable you to power the amplifier using any standard AC wall outlet.

Reversible & Paintable: The Leaf 65 is also  reversible (black or white) and paintable to match your room's decor.

16' RF-Coax Cable: The Mohu Leaf 65 includes a 16' RG59-coaxial cable, giving you the flexibility to place the antenna much higher on a wall or close to a window for optimal reception.

Q & A

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

There were more than a half dozen choices of indoor television receiving antennae. There was a helpful general article by a Crutchfield expert, then staff descriptions on the individual products, a link to the leading manufacturer's website, and finally a link to a site analyzing reception at my personal geographic site. After reviewing all of these, I felt I knew more than enough to choose the appropriate product. [ M  Jan 03, 2019 ]
Crutchfield recommendation. Carter. [ Gordon  Nov 26, 2018 ]
Ratings, quality, distance to tv towers, not wanting to put an antenna in my attic or outside. [ Brian  May 04, 2018 ]
looks like the best and reaches 65 miles [ BRIAN  Mar 18, 2018 ]
Has LTE filter and is larger than typical flat antennae. [ Steve  Feb 07, 2018 ]
I chose the Mohu Leaf Pro because of the reception challenges of the building I live in. Its a former commercial building with windows going to a 12' ceiling height. Attaching the amplified antenna to an upper window section should realistically pull in 25+ channels. [ Kelly Ann  Jan 10, 2018 ]
was best indoor one on market, researched quite a bit and price was right--4k ready if that ever comes [ tom  Dec 01, 2017 ]
We are trying to cut the cord to our cable company. [ Tracy  Sep 14, 2017 ]

2 questions already asked

yes, I tried it all ways, guess I was too far away, ! channel barly came in and pixelated bad. Maybe if it is away from trees, ect it would have worked. [ tom  Dec 25, 2017 ]
Hey Jon. This is a new product. When I contacted our research team, they actually had it there to fully database. They pulled out the calipers and came back with 21.5" W x 11.4375" H x 0.5" (where the coax plugs in) D. The panel is roughly 0.04" thick. We'll be updating the product page shortly to reflect this as well. [ Jeff  Sep 07, 2017 ]  Staff
