I have used IData products several times and for a person with little experience and knowledge, they have made installation a breeze. just make sure you get the right product for your vehicle. Crutchfield customer service did call me before product shipped to make sure I had everything. Super happy with product and service.

It feels great having done this for my wife.

Works great...not hard to install. You will need to verify install guide number is correct. Also, it helps to take BMC connector covers off the connectors to verify PIN number and wire color. It's easy to mistake wire color codes. Verifying PIN number and wire color makes an error free install. If, you run into trouble their technological support is excellent...well informed. It feels great knowing I saved close to $200 dollars doing this for my wife.

Pros: Great tech support.

Cons: Wires are long enough, but could be 6" longer to aid in locating hardware behind glove box, or in steering local.

This is the Remote Start our Son's Car should have come with!

ROLAND from SOUTH BEND, IN on 5/17/2020

2008 Mercury Milan

This was a Christmas gift for my son. His old Pontiac had Remote Start capability, but the 2008 Mercury Milan didn't. With a Midwest Winter bearing down, we felt this would make a nice addition to a car he otherwise liked. First off, this module functions exactly as expected, starting the Milan by using the existing key fobs. This adds to the factory behavior, where one press locks the car, two presses locks and sounds the horn & flashes the marker lights; now three presses causes the engine to start (or stop if it is running). Here's a brief video of the iDatastart CMMIXA0 model in action: https://vimeo.com/419480119 My son used this many times this winter as the cold and snow descended on our area and he appreciated having a warmed-up car when he needed to go to work in the evening and when he came home at night. This scored lots of Best Christmas Gift Ever points!

Pros: It works with the existing key fobs, so nothing extra to carry in your pocket or purse. It adds to the factory lock button behavior, so it's easy to use. The module is small and tucks away easily inside the dash. The additional wiring harness makes installation as easy as it can be for your vehicle.

Cons: If you are not comfortable with electrical work, this isn't a trivial "plug and play" installation. It requires cutting some of the car's wiring harness as the module needs to interrupt some of the car's signals. We ended up paying our mechanic to install it. Programming the CMMIXA0 requires a Windows computer and you need to create an account to access the programming files. Our mechanic's work firewall blocked access to the programming site. I ended up doing the programming myself.

Worth It!!

Works as advertised!! I debated wiring in the parking lamps and other components. I opted to not wire in the parking lamps. I only added the "Lock Input" wire. Other than that it was plug and play. I had issues downloading the software with Google Chrome. I had to use Internet Explorer to install the necessary drivers. I would say the most difficult part was uploading software to the module. But, I got it done. Definitely worth the money to add remote start without having to deal with another remote.

Pros: Easy Install

Cons: Software uploading to remote start module not for the faint of heart. Use Internet Explorer.
