Keep the factory monitor

Keeping your factory features with an iDatalink-ready car stereo

If you're buying a compatible iDatalink-ready car stereo, you'll enjoy the outstanding performance of your receiver, plus seamless touchscreen control over most of the factory features in select Chrysler-built vehicles. You'll also be able to display engine performance data and other vehicle info on your receiver's screen.

Features

Backup/AV Harness: The iDatalink Maestro HRN-AV-CH1 harness is needed to retain the factory backup camera when installing an aftermarket head unit in select 2008-up Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, Mitsubishi and Volkswagen vehicles using the iDatalink Maestro RR or RR2 (both sold separately). The harness also retains the factory RSE (Rear Seat Entertainment) in select Grand Caravan, Town & Country, and Routan vehicles. The HRN-AV-CH1 harness provides an RCA audio/video input and output to the factory rear entertainment system. Your aftermarket head unit must be iDatalink Maestro compatible and needs to have rear-panel AV input and output.

Customer Q&A

Q
Will this harness bypass the need for the vehicle to be in park to play a dvd? I only need video on the rear screens and not on the front receiver unit while I'm driving.

A
That harness typically retains the Rear Entertainment system as it is now. There are some other factors that may change this depending on what vehicle and radio you are using. To be sure, please give us a call at 800.324.9695 to speak with an advisor so we can verify what you are working with.

For anyone else with this same question, this is the response from Crutchfield support: "The thin black wire is a signal ground and it appears to be paired with a video cable on that harness, so if you see any static or noise on the overhead monitor in the vehicle, ground that wire."
