Unnecessary
Eddie from Shreveport, LA on 2/23/2017
2012 Ford Mustang
Purchased this product as a part of a "package" offering from Crutchfield. It was totally unnecessary for the installation since no external video was involved. Wish there was more written explanation on these products.
Pros: Unknown
Cons: Wish there was more explanation about what products are needed for what purpose so purchase of a "package" containing products unnecessary for the installation aren't purchased. Providing a more informative description would certainly make available individual selections pertinent to the purchase easily selected.

I have purchased several of the I data link products. And I find them all Very lacking in instructions. I'm still working on getting all mine integrated. Just remember manufacturer's, more directions are better than less. Papers cheap, don't be so stingy with your words.

This is for rear A/V retention only on GM factory rear units
nbakings from Sacramento, CA on 7/26/2016
2010 Chevrolet Traverse
The connector on this harness only fits the factory connection that goes to the factory installed rear video unit. It has nothing to do with the actual rear controls, only the video and audio inputs and outputs. It is a pretty basic item that serves it's purpose, though I believe cheaper alternatives can be found on the Crutchfield site. It can be used along side other aftermarket harness solutions and doesn't require the other parts to be iDatalink products as it is self contained just to the rear AV factory plug. It includes a RCA to mini-jack adapter, but in my case my head unit required a three way A/V mini jack be connected instead of simply a two way audio jack. So I had to buy that 3 way adapter to use instead.
Pros: it works
Cons: the included audio RCA to mini jack adapter may not be sufficient if your head unit uses an audio/video mini jack input.

This product worked for retaining the rear overhead moitor and av input jacks on the rear console. It did not retain the head phone jacks for the rear passengers. Although we never use them any ways.
Pros: Rear monitor and av inputs work
Cons: Rear head phone jacks don't work.

I don't even need this. I was a amuture with this purchase. I went with the bundle. In which I thought I need this to make everything compatible with my Truck. I didn't find out till after my purchase and thrown away the box it was not needed
Pros: none
Cons: A useless purchase and waste of $$$ for me. Don't be like me. read into what you buy. Don't assume their bundle is everything that you need. Cuz it's not
