Works, but had some issues
Brett from Meridian, ID on 7/20/2018
The HRN-RR-CH1 harness I ordered has/had an issue. When I hooked everything up to my head unit, the fade was reversed. When I would fade everything to the front on the head unit, I would only hear the stereo in the back. When I would fade to the rear, I would only hear the front. I made sure I connected everything according to the directions. I troubleshooted for hours and could not figure it out. Upon closer inspection of the harness, I realized the manufacturer made an error. There are two connectors that join the speaker leads. The front and back each have their own set (one green one white). I realized that the wire colors did not match up. So I switched the connectors and went green to white. That fixed the issue. It was a very frustrating experience.

This harness works as well as it can. Note though that this harness is NOT plug and play. You are still required to connect together the ends of this harness to your specific radio harness. It isn't a difficult process, but just something to note if you are thinking this is 100% plug and play. The one issue I did run into though was with the wire lengths going to the Maestro module. The issue is that due to the design of the module, the wires of this harness need to connect to opposite sides of the module, this making the harness stretch awkwardly, and makes the fit awkward when hiding behind the dash. If the wires were longer (or the module designed to have all the ports on one side), then this would have fit better. But in the end it is still usable and does what it is designed to do.

Works as advertised
Joseph from Duluth, GA on 3/14/2017

Great solution to plug straight into your factory harness. I'm pretty tech savvy and didn't have any issues. However, there were a couple of wires where the colors matched between this harness and the new radio harness but they weren't the same function. If I didn't pay attention to this fact, I would have wired them together based on the instructions. The biggest one for me was a yellow/black mute wire on Pioneer head unit that had a different function on the CH1 harness.
Pros:
Cons: -Don't just color match wires because it may mess you up.

A requirement for Chrysler cars with maestro rr
Robyn from Philadelphia, PA on 1/29/2017
2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
I have a 2015 jeep wrangler. Of course, the factory stereo left much to be improved. I decided to replace it with an alpine head unit. Since this car has a built-in amplifier and steering wheel controls, you have to have an adapter to translate and make the new aftermarket radio compatible. I decided to use the Idatalink maestro rr. At the time that I bought it, they didn't have this harness in stock. So, I came to Crutchfield. I ordered it and had it in my hands the next day for the same price that the other people wanted! This harness is an absolute requirement to use the maestro rr in this car. I still had to Soulder and shrink wrap everything together, but it worked the first time. Very happy with my purchase!
Pros: It worked the first time. No need to rip it out and make changes.
Cons: Still had to Soulder and shrinkwrap

Easy, fast, 90% plug and play
James from Huntsville, TX on 10/21/2016
2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Simple and straight forward. Harnesses works great, only wiring required is radio to harness, everything else is plug and play.
Pros: Vehicle specific plugs, 90% pre wired. Just match colors on the other 10%
Cons: None that I found.

Kept factory controls
Tim from Valdosta, GA on 10/14/2016
2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
This harness works great for my application(2011 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon w/Amp). Connected to my Jenwood harness with color matching wires. I paired this with an iDatalink Maestro RR and was able to retain my factory steering wheel controls and will also display vehicle data like tire pressure etc. I gave this a 4 star because the instructions were available but was not clear as I had to figure out a few cables that were provided, but not mentioned as part of the installation. Other than that, great product.
Pros: Integrated factory controls (steering wheel controls, vehicle data)
Cons: Instructions not clear, several unused connectors made installation seem incomplete

Instructions were crystal clear, I was wired up in about 30 minutes and ready to connect up my new head unit.
Pros: Very detailed and clear instructions are included. Most wires were exactly color coded to match the after market radio harness.
Cons: In some installs you'll need to vary from the instructions to suit your individual needs, but customer service will be quick to help

Lots of wires but talk to Crutchfield support and figured it out
gimpor33 from Portland, OR on 7/28/2016
2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
The maestro and idatalink come with a lot of wires. I had a hard time figuring out which wires you needed and which wires you did not need. I talked to Crutchfield support and they clarified which wires I needed to solder and that made it much easier. Lots of extra wires.
Pros: easy once you figure out the wiring diagram is the only wires you need
Cons: lots of extra wires between the maestro and idata link

fit well, instructions were NOT helpful
Tim from Oklahoma City, OK on 7/12/2016
2010 Dodge Ram 1500
The harness fit well, and with the exception of 4 wires everything matched up. In fairness the blue/white wire was a Pioneer problem because of the label on the wire. But there was a brown and yellow/black that need to be explained. Which meant a call to Crutchfield and they answered it right away. So, it's not like it can't be included in the instructions.
Pros: good product fit well
Cons: instructions incomplete

Not a standalone product.
Dealbreaker from College Park, GA on 7/3/2016
2015 Jeep Patriot
I bought this to swap an aftermarket stereo to my 2015 Jeep only to discover that this wasn't a standalone product and I would need an $189 interface module from the same company in order to even make the unit power up. In reality I just wanted my aftermarket radio to work; I wasn't concerned with steering wheel controls and factory uconnect support. I just wanted it to work. But for the price of the harness and interface together is more than the radio I wanted to replace it with. They have a very detailed website so make sure you check exactly what you need specifically for your auto because only this was listed and it is useless without the interface in most late model vehicles.
Pros: Harness fits flawlessly.
Cons: Extra peripherals needed to make the harness work. $189 dollars worth.

Hrn-RR-Ch1 by idatalink
Thomas from Bristol, CT on 5/18/2016
2012 Dodge Grand Caravan
Very straight forward, decent design clearly marked easy install, remember this is only the connection point you still need ( in my case the M-RR unit) the hardware, and don't forget the antenna adapter Chrysler uses a funny one I had to get mine for a 12 jeep wrangler to make everything work right. but otherwise would recommend and buy again if the need arose.
Pros: simple, straight forward, clear instruction.
Cons: only part of the system if you want to use oe amp and steering controls

Works...they need to take the next step
Jason123 from Pennsylvania on 10/17/2015
This works. I had an undocumented wire. Tech support was great (not 24 hours) and said to simply not use it. I then had a whole plug with 3 wires that didn't go anywhere. Ignored it and everything works fine. All the wire colors match the Kenwood wire harness. It would be awesome if they took the next step and sent this with the right radio plug. Even if it came with plugs on the ends of the wires and the radio plug was separate. It would save soldering two 16 plus wire harnesses together. Also makes it a lot to cram in behind the dash.
Pros: Works. Wire colors match. Documentation is 98%
Cons: Some undocumented wires. Lots of soldering. Tech support is not 24 hours.

Awsome
Daniel M from Michigan on 10/3/2015
2009 Dodge Ram 1500
Great harness i recommend the idatalink meastro harness to everyone. There easy to wire up and install. Also allows you to retain pretty much everything and add stuff. They work great i used them in a 3 of my vehicles. The think i really like is if you have steering wheel controls for your volume and seek for your stereo you can change them to do ither things like mute change folder etc. Other harnesses dont allow you to do that. They are bulky but that doesnt bother me but can be tough if you dont have alot of room behind your stereo. Other then that nothing but good things to say.
Pros: Everything
Cons: A bit bulky

I highly recommend this product!

Everything matched up, except one yellow wire with a black tracer that is not on the diagram. Called tech service, it is not used for anything. be aware, on the Pioneer HU, the mute wire is yellow and black, but it connects to the brown wire on this harness
Pros: everything is color coded
Cons: one oddball wire
