ASK THEM TO VERIFY ALL PARTS ARE CORRECT IN THE BOX.
Jason from Sanford, NC on 12/16/2020
2012 Ford Mustang
The parts to this kit are fine, but be sure to call when you order to ensure that the warehouse checks to ensure all parts are inside. It took 2 replacement shipments in order for me to get a complete kit. the 1st one was missing 2 of the configurable buttons, (the ones I had intended to use), and had 2 identical brackets. Th brackets are not symmetrical so having two left side brackets made the whole kit un-installable. Once the replacement was ordered, I thought my issues were done, but the 2nd replacement shipment again had 2 identical brackets so I then had 4 left sided brackets. The buttons I needed were actually in the 2nd shipment, so I had that going for me, which was nice.... After calling and emailing customer support to order a 3rd replacement, I ASKED THEM TO HAVE THE WAREHOUSE CHECK AND VERIFY THAT ALL PARTS WERE CORRECT. They said they would. I waited only 2 days before I received it and verified that it had either 2 right side brackets or one of each. It did. All in all, The product is good quality, but somewhere in the process, the manufacturer, not Crutchfield (customer service was wonderful), messed up. The entire process ended up taking 2 weeks to get the correct product in order to finish installation. luckily I have a second vehicle to get to work as this small issue caused me to be without my car for those two weeks as I had began the install and wiring. this piece replaces your factory dash, so my dash was in pieces while waiting on the correct parts.
Pros: Good fitment, works as intended.
Cons: missing and doubled pieces in box.

This fit my Mustang perfectly without having to change anything other than what it was designed to replace. The stereo fits very well as though it is part of it and now I have a storage place for my phone that can charge it as well. Very impressed.
Pros: Great upgrade and user friendly. My Mustang just entered the 21st century officially with a touchscreen and all kinds of other features that keeps the styling of the car interior. This wouldn't be possible without a setup like this and even with taking my time it didn't take that long to install everything I purchased to go with this.
Cons: Its not in my other 3 vehicles

Love it.
Bob from Plano, TX on 5/21/2019

This is really cool. Made the install easy on the Stang. It did not like when I plugged in the blue/white antenna wire into the amp turn on blue/white wire and created a ground loop - which was easily found and fixed. But since I don't have a power antenna, I did not need the wire connected and the Shaker 500 amps turned on automatically. Retains the factory look of the dash display.
Pros: Made the idatalink install easy. Retains the factory look and functionality.
Cons: There are multiple installation instruction versions. Make sure you look at the one specific to your car. (i.e. 2010 Mustang GT w/o Nav + Shaker 500 radio).

Great adapter for aftermarket stereo!
Crutchfield customer from Redwood City, CA on 4/3/2019

Great replacement for factory dash. The addition of the storage pocket is great but can make installing an aftermarket radio very snug. Removing the manual knobs and making them digital on the stereo is awesome. Temperature changes take some getting used to if you're used to manual knobs and sliders.
Pros: Great adapter. Love the storage pocket and extra USB's tucked in there. Nice clean finish that blends very well with original dash components.
Cons: Extra pocket can make the under side of the stereo compact especially if you're using a iDatalink module.

Maestro Rr and MUS1 dash kit, turned out to be a complete disappointment. The buttons weree set up with flash and even printed the menu. Great, EXCEPT The buttons seem to have a mind of their own, never knowing what I will get when I press one . Steering wheel control seems to be my best hope but still sketchy. The buttons on the MUS1 dash kit are hopeless. Chinsy feel when you press one and the unit seems totally confused about my pushing one. These two products are not as intended after all the work and expense. I am totally disappointed. If I wasn't leaving on a trip tomorrow I would pack this pig back up and ship him back to Crutchfield.
Pros: everything works when I can top the buttons from acting on their own.
Cons: Buttons have a mind of their own, and feel cheap

Great Experience
John from Grapevine, TX on 1/5/2019
2013 Ford Mustang
I originally ordered the wrong installation kit for my Son's 2013 Mustang. His car has a Shaker and Sync and I missed that detail when ordering. Not to worry though because Crutchfield let me return the previous order, helped me get the right items, including the iDatalink Connect Kit, and even re-did the wiring adapter for me at no additional charge. Their service to wire the connectors is awesome, saves a lot of time, and helps me know I have the wiring right the first time. I received the re-order quickly and it fit like a glove. I had one problem caused by me plugging in an audio adapter to the back of the unit into the wrong place and called iDatalink for help. They knew immediately what I had done wrong and we had it working properly in less than 5 minutes! I'm very impressed with Crutchfeld and will use them for life. There simply isn't a better place for car audio equipment. They know the meaning of service and that's a rarity these days!
Pros: Took my return when I made a mistake in ordering. Got me the right items quickly and even rewired it at no extra charge. Everything worked fantastic and my Son is very happy with it. You can't beat Crutchfield service.
Cons: There aren't any cons--it was a great experience. I like it so much, I'll never use anyone else but Crutchfield.

Benjamin from Central Point, OR on 1/2/2019

I installed this with the maestro unit and a Kenwood head unit in a 2013 Mustang GT convertible with the Shaker system. 1. Identify the Sync SWI2 wire BEFORE you take out the factory head unit. The instructions say you should get 5v power from this wire. I was never able to get any voltage from it. To identify it, it's a 26 Ga blue wire that goes into pin 14 of the sync harness. 2. With the Shaker system, the speaker outputs from the factory head unit are all low power pre outs. Where the factory amplifier(s) hide is a bit of a mystery. When the RCA's from the mus1 harness are connected to the "front" and "rear" RCA outputs on the new head unit all factory speakers work and are appropriately crossed over including the factory 8" subs in the doors leaving you the sub out on the deck to add a "real" subwoofer to your system. This install was not straight forward but with a few calls to tech support I'm really happy with how it sounds and looks. Hope these tips save you from some of the headaches I experienced!

Fit and function were good. A little confusing at times as the instructions were a bit lacking, but patience and some basic wiring knowledge will get u thru. Programming the unit to work with your vehicle was the hardest part as it will only work with explorer and a newly formatted flas drive i.e.: can't be any hidden files on it.
Pros: Trim fits nicely and looks good. Everything works as it should. The extra storage space with the USB ports are a great feature.
Cons: Would be nice if it didn't only work with explorer. Could come with a better wiring detail for the specific vehicle

Best option
Mark from Cape Coral, FL on 5/5/2017
2014 Ford Mustang
I can't add much to what's been said, i.e. good color match, great fit, buttons look and feel cheap, etc. I installed it along with a Kenwood 9903, so a/c is controlled by the Kenwood interface. I really worried that this would suck, but actually works fine. The Kenwood display interface looks cheesy, but functions fast enough not to be an issue. To me this is the best option for installing a 2DIN hu in my car
Pros: Allows 2DIN, color matches, fits like OEM, Maestro functions as advertised.
Cons: buttons have low end feel and look. Can't change out the button covers on the far left and right (I'd prefer that all were plain black rather than the cartoonish looking printed covers)

iDatalink ADS-KIT-MUS01 Dash
Thomas from Cary, NC on 12/15/2014
I got this product for my 2014 Mustang GT to install an aftermarket Kenwood. The fit and finish of this product is first rate and idatalinks integration is (in my opinion) top notch... The color matched my Mustang perfectly. The customization of the buttons and a nice extra feature and the fact you can use them for double functions (quick press for function one, long press for function two) is very helpful... Add features to your car that you didn't have to begin with...
Pros: 1. Lots of customization 2. Fit and Finish works well in the Mustang 3. extra USB's in the pocket make things easier 4. The pocket adds much needed storage 5. Integration into the car's controls (ODB2, Sync) is done extremely well 6. Use of SYNC services still retained 7. Display cars information from the ODB2 port that the car never could, VERY COOL 8. Idatalink support VERY GOOD!
Cons: Cons: 1. Customization of buttons needs to be well thought out, it requires outside programming to change things (not really a con, but a lot to change it) 2. wiring diagrams need to be updated, wire colors (mostly SYNC) did not match up, I have been installing systems for years and it took two hours pouring over forums to find the right SYNC wire to cut 3. Instructions needs to be a little clearer, I was able to adapt everything, however, better instructions would be helpful... (however, the

Nicely executed idea, atrocious instructions and documentation
Dan NJ from New Jersey on 11/16/2014
It'd be great to think this thing is as awesome as sliced bread. Super impressed by ADS courage to build something this ambitious, and hopefully, it will perform as advertised. However, they have the most convoluted, irrational and bizarre instructions and documentation for this kit. There is a harness included, but there is zero documentation or wiring diagrams included. ADS website is a mess, and trying to figure out what harness I got is never gonna happen. Thank goodness for Crutchfield, as they actually have documentation for A harness, but it does refer to 2 different harnesses, and I have no idea which one is included (is it ADS-RR(SR)-FOR01-DS-IG-EN? or is it ADS-RR(SR)-FOR01-AS-IG-EN). At least there's some references. The dash package is quite nice, and the quality is terrific. The hard buttons are great, as is the choices you can make for them. The programming is also pretty cool, but I have zero confidence this thing will work as claimed. Installing in a 2011 Mustang GT, Sync, no Nav, and replacing it with a Kenwood DNX891-HD and hope to heavens that I can get all the features to work. I suspect it'll have to come in and out of the car 20 times to iron out the bugs.
Pros: Nicely molded plastic panel. Fits well, color matches. Hard buttons are slick. Original thinking on ADS part, which I applaud... a complete replacement dash panel, who woulda thought! An awesome way to remove the lousy/busy/confusing Ford dash panel
Cons: Documentation is worse than anything I've seen in years. It is so unbelievably confusing and contradictory, as well as lacking key critical information, that I'm dubious it will work. I've read nice accounts of people plugging this stuff in and having it work, but I was expecting that I could install it with provided instructions and documentation, rather than calling ADS 100 times, and they're only open during the week, when most people work. Pros: Gives you a cubby hole to put your Ipod and phone. Easy navigation with the buttons. Stock appearing.
Cons: The only Con I see is that you have to take it apart to reprogram the buttons if you decide to go another route with them.

Pros: everything, but the 3 buttons for you to choose rocks!!!! It even has many buttons with the icon toset up the memory... Raised screen, better display of the LCD screen, Cubby at the bottom, price, easy install...
Cons: The USB connections in the front are only for the after market stereo, and if you have an Apple device, you will have the Ipod cable sticking out..(I didn't use the USB)
