You've got your heart set on a new touchscreen GPS receiver, but you really want to keep your Mustang's dash looking good. Now, iDatalink's KIT-MUS1 factory integration package (along with their Maestro RR adapter, sold separately) gives you everything to need to install an iDatalink-ready car stereo in your dash and wire it up to your Mustang. Best of all, you'll retain the use of your steering wheel audio controls, climate controls, and the Ford SYNC™ system, plus add some very cool features along the way.
iDatalink's KIT-MUS1 integration adapter includes a dash console that matches the fit and finish of your Mustang's dash. You'll retain the use of your Mustang's LCD display, which provides song and title information, station information, and caller ID for hands-free calling with Bluetooth®. You can operate your climate controls from your receiver's touchscreen and the customizable buttons built into the iDatalink dash console. This kit also includes two integrated USB ports that work with your receiver.
First, you connect the iDatalink Maestro RR adapter to your PC using its included USB cable, visit www.idatalinkmaestro.com/plugin and follow the instructions. Once you've indicated you're using the KIT-MUS1 kit and the Maestro RR has been "flashed," you're ready for the installation. Next, you'll either solder or crimp the wiring adapter that's included in this package to your new receiver's wiring, just like you would with any wiring harness or wiring adapter from Crutchfield.
The KIT-MUS1 integration adapter comes with simple plug-in connectors for the iDatalink Maestro RR adapter and your Mustang's factory wiring harness. You'll also get a mono subwoofer RCA connection which directly plugs into the subwoofer channel of your Mustang's amplifier. With Mustangs that don't have the SYNC™ system, you can use the adapter's AUX IN RCA connectors to link the Mustang's factory auxiliary input to an auxiliary input on your receiver.
Once you've installed the Kenwood or Alpine in your Mustang, you'll be able to use your receiver's touchscreen to check your tire pressure, battery voltage, and "door ajar" warnings. You'll also be able to choose which gauges you'd like to appear on the screen, and you'll even be able to check the engine codes when a warning light comes on.
Compatibility Notes: The iDatalink KIT-MUS1 factory integration adapter must be used with the iDatalink Maestro RR adapter and an iDatalink-ready car stereo (sold separately). This adapter is only compatible with 2010-2014 Mustangs without the factory navigation radio.
Note: Most vehicles will require additional installation parts please identify your vehicle if you haven’t done so. You can also call an Advisor for more information.

I installed this myself. I only had a couple of questions, the experts at Crutchfield were very helpful! This product works just like expected.
High quality no complains at all. Can't wait I install it.
Great product just as explained and shown online.
Integration was easy. Did it all myself. The instruction are crystal clear. End result is beautiful clean look with no more bulky A/C controls.
I was originally intimidated by the wiring because as a mechanic i have a need to understand what each wire does but it is so easy because all wires are color coded to match Ford factory wiring.
Pros: plug and go
Cons: i had to remove panel later to install Sirius XM tuner and plastic panel clips broke.
I originally ordered the wrong installation kit for my Son's 2013 Mustang. His car has a Shaker and Sync and I missed that detail when ordering. Not to worry though because Crutchfield let me return the previous order, helped me get the right items, including the iDatalink Connect Kit, and even re-did the wiring adapter for me at no additional charge. Their service to wire the connectors is awesome, saves a lot of time, and helps me know I have the wiring right the first time. I received the re-order quickly and it fit like a glove. I had one problem caused by me plugging in an audio adapter to the back of the unit into the wrong place and called iDatalink for help. They knew immediately what I had done wrong and we had it working properly in less than 5 minutes! I'm very impressed with Crutchfeld and will use them for life. There simply isn't a better place for car audio equipment. They know the meaning of service and that's a rarity these days!
Pros: Took my return when I made a mistake in ordering. Got me the right items quickly and even rewired it at no extra charge. Everything worked fantastic and my Son is very happy with it. You can't beat Crutchfield service.
Cons: There aren't any cons--it was a great experience. I like it so much, I'll never use anyone else but Crutchfield.
I installed this with the maestro unit and a Kenwood head unit in a 2013 Mustang GT convertible with the Shaker system. 1. Identify the Sync SWI2 wire BEFORE you take out the factory head unit. The instructions say you should get 5v power from this wire. I was never able to get any voltage from it. To identify it, it's a 26 Ga blue wire that goes into pin 14 of the sync harness. 2. With the Shaker system, the speaker outputs from the factory head unit are all low power pre outs. Where the factory amplifier(s) hide is a bit of a mystery. When the RCA's from the mus1 harness are connected to the "front" and "rear" RCA outputs on the new head unit all factory speakers work and are appropriately crossed over including the factory 8" subs in the doors leaving you the sub out on the deck to add a "real" subwoofer to your system. This install was not straight forward but with a few calls to tech support I'm really happy with how it sounds and looks. Hope these tips save you from some of the headaches I experienced!
Makes the installation much much easier
I had one of the other brands. Love this one!!!
Pros: Works wonderfully
This is essential to a clean install. It fit well with my dash and with the Pioneer head unit. The customizable buttons are a nice touch for not having to fumble with a touch screen all the time.
Quality construction, color matches well with interior, pocket and usb are a plus
Pros: Color match and quality fit
The Connec KIT-MUS1 was an exact color match to the OEM dash panel. Appears this could have been an option from Ford!
Excellent product! Looks like it came straight from the factory!
Pros: Factory Fit and Finish Easy Install Added Storage Pocket Buttons were back lit and better quality than I was expecting
Love it love it love it
Pros: Everything is great
perfect fit the programable buttons are awesome I really like that they can be programed with two functions per button seemless fit in my Mustang It looks factory installed
Fits my Mustang perfectly. I've read lots of reviews that the custom buttons don't work very well, and I must agree with that. Very poor design. But overall, nice fit. Didn't have much of a choice anyway.
Great product. Looks factory. I love being able to choose the buttons.
Great product for interpreting your car into your dash. Install was a bit challenging due to lack or clear instructions but once setup was complete it was AMAZING
Pros: Integration of the computer with my indash for my gauges...Something that should have come with the the mustang
Cons: The push buttons lack quality....I'm not sure if the light are supposed to work behind it but mines doesn't
Fit and function were good. A little confusing at times as the instructions were a bit lacking, but patience and some basic wiring knowledge will get u thru. Programming the unit to work with your vehicle was the hardest part as it will only work with explorer and a newly formatted flas drive i.e.: can't be any hidden files on it.
Pros: Trim fits nicely and looks good. Everything works as it should. The extra storage space with the USB ports are a great feature.
Cons: Would be nice if it didn't only work with explorer. Could come with a better wiring detail for the specific vehicle
I can't add much to what's been said, i.e. good color match, great fit, buttons look and feel cheap, etc. I installed it along with a Kenwood 9903, so a/c is controlled by the Kenwood interface. I really worried that this would suck, but actually works fine. The Kenwood display interface looks cheesy, but functions fast enough not to be an issue. To me this is the best option for installing a 2DIN hu in my car
Pros: Allows 2DIN, color matches, fits like OEM, Maestro functions as advertised.
Cons: buttons have low end feel and look. Can't change out the button covers on the far left and right (I'd prefer that all were plain black rather than the cartoonish looking printed covers)
This is a great setup. The harness looks more intimidating than it actually is to wire together. The completed install looks awesome.
Easy to wire and looks factory.
The dash kit fits the cars very well. I am not a 12 volt wiring expert, so I had a professional shop install this. Its a great kit
Pros: Fits well and is easy to use
Cons: I think it's one of the more costly setups
Great fit n finish on the adapter. Really makes for an awesome aftermarket alternative to the stock unit. Makes integrating the climate controls easy.
Pros: great fit and looks factory
Cons: had an issue with the hookups of the speakers.. but think that was on the JVC side
Bought this to mount a Kenwood DDX9903s in my 2011 Mustang. It is a perfect fit and matches the factory trim color exactly. This coupled with the Maestro RR made the install a breeze. Highly recommend this to anyone wanting to upgrade the look and feel of their dashboard controls.
Pros: Perfect fit, finish and color match Easy install The storage pockets and USB ports are a huge addition to the interior
A bit expensive but it is a perfect fit and looks stock.
Pros: Looks factory
Cons: Price is a little high
it fits well and seems to be built well, but its finish is much darker then the factory color. so it does not match well with the console, also found that some of the buttons stick when its cold, if its color was a better match I would have given it 5 stars
Pros: fit perfectly and built strong
Cons: color is way to dark so its not a good match with the console, buttons stick sometimes
This thing is the best..it let's you keep all of your factory features on your car.. I love it!
Pros: Every thing.
Great fit and finish, looks factory and works great!
I purchased my iDatalink with the Kenwood DNX891HD for my Mustang and all I can say is "Great Product". The kit works well together and matches the factory color panels great. There are many options that come with this unit that allow you to make the necessary changes you need/want. Great overall product
Pros: Great fit and finish Fits like a glove
Cons: No MAC compatibility
I got this product for my 2014 Mustang GT to install an aftermarket Kenwood. The fit and finish of this product is first rate and idatalinks integration is (in my opinion) top notch... The color matched my Mustang perfectly. The customization of the buttons and a nice extra feature and the fact you can use them for double functions (quick press for function one, long press for function two) is very helpful... Add features to your car that you didn't have to begin with...
Pros: 1. Lots of customization 2. Fit and Finish works well in the Mustang 3. extra USB's in the pocket make things easier 4. The pocket adds much needed storage 5. Integration into the car's controls (ODB2, Sync) is done extremely well 6. Use of SYNC services still retained 7. Display cars information from the ODB2 port that the car never could, VERY COOL 8. Idatalink support VERY GOOD!
Cons: Cons: 1. Customization of buttons needs to be well thought out, it requires outside programming to change things (not really a con, but a lot to change it) 2. wiring diagrams need to be updated, wire colors (mostly SYNC) did not match up, I have been installing systems for years and it took two hours pouring over forums to find the right SYNC wire to cut 3. Instructions needs to be a little clearer, I was able to adapt everything, however, better instructions would be helpful... (however, the
It'd be great to think this thing is as awesome as sliced bread. Super impressed by ADS courage to build something this ambitious, and hopefully, it will perform as advertised. However, they have the most convoluted, irrational and bizarre instructions and documentation for this kit. There is a harness included, but there is zero documentation or wiring diagrams included. ADS website is a mess, and trying to figure out what harness I got is never gonna happen. Thank goodness for Crutchfield, as they actually have documentation for A harness, but it does refer to 2 different harnesses, and I have no idea which one is included (is it ADS-RR(SR)-FOR01-DS-IG-EN? or is it ADS-RR(SR)-FOR01-AS-IG-EN). At least there's some references. The dash package is quite nice, and the quality is terrific. The hard buttons are great, as is the choices you can make for them. The programming is also pretty cool, but I have zero confidence this thing will work as claimed. Installing in a 2011 Mustang GT, Sync, no Nav, and replacing it with a Kenwood DNX891-HD and hope to heavens that I can get all the features to work. I suspect it'll have to come in and out of the car 20 times to iron out the bugs.
Pros: Nicely molded plastic panel. Fits well, color matches. Hard buttons are slick. Original thinking on ADS part, which I applaud... a complete replacement dash panel, who woulda thought! An awesome way to remove the lousy/busy/confusing Ford dash panel
Cons: Documentation is worse than anything I've seen in years. It is so unbelievably confusing and contradictory, as well as lacking key critical information, that I'm dubious it will work. I've read nice accounts of people plugging this stuff in and having it work, but I was expecting that I could install it with provided instructions and documentation, rather than calling ADS 100 times, and they're only open during the week, when most people work. Shabby
Excellent fit and finish.
Pros: Easy replacement for factory radio
Cons: Not quite a perfect flush fit on 7" LCD screens. Buttons on dash are a bit lacking quality wise but usable.
I decided to Install this in my 2011 GT500 after seeing it on a GT500 forum. The fit is great and its very functional. I was wanting a Touchscreen with NAV and this complements it perfectly. Its nice to have the quick buttons to take you to the climate controls or what ever you decide to use them for. I used a Kenwood 771HD with it.
Pros: Gives you a cubby hole to put your Ipod and phone. Easy navigation with the buttons. Stock appearing.
Cons: The only Con I see is that you have to take it apart to reprogram the buttons if you decide to go another route with them.
Amazing fit and easy install. I would highly recommend it to anyone
Pros: easy install provided you know how to solder. works incredibly well,
Adds function and versatility to the Mustang that is needed. Gives you that much needed storage area to put your phone or other item instead of using your cup holder. Gives you touchscreen use with your Kenwood receiver and monitoring of vehicle diagnostics. Even lets you see the tire pressure in each tire instead of just a dummy light on the dash.
Pros: Everything. Wiring is straightforward and simple.
Added bonus value - it includes the T harness which makes the install of the Maestro Module VERY easy - good match in appearance to the factory plate -
Pros: good fit, adds storage, buttons programmable, includes ADS-HRN(SR)FOR1 harness
Cons: you have to buy another module to make it all work...
Really cool how it links up Your car computer to head unit.
Cons: Only fits for a navigation unit
Great kit, Comes complete with the harness and an array of buttons to customize for your application!
Pros: Solid construction, ease of use and looks great!
Great quality product that looks OEM when installed. The fit and finish of the product perfectly matches the rest of the car. Paired with the Maestro RR and a Kenwood DNX890HD this is the best possible replacement for any Mustang audio system.
Pros: Sets the double din opening higher than any other dash kit for better accessibility Perfectly matches the dash to look OEM 5 buttons to access common functions, with 3 programmable Pocket to keep random items 2 USB connections for flash drives and phones
Cons: The 5 buttons at the top of the radio seem a bit, "soupy". I wish they felt more like a mechanical keyboard and gave some physical feedback (click) when pressed.
Very high quality unit and matches interior perfect. Great flexibility when coupled with the Maestro RR unit and the storage pocket is very handy and needed in the car. No regrets.
Pros: fit, finish, configuration options
What can I say? AWESOME!!!!!! I had the Metra kit, which was doable, but I was waiting forever for this kit to come out. The screen is raised for better viewing and with the Maestro, and my Kenwood 570, It is flawless... The color matches perfect, and the cubby hole to put my smokes and phone was much needed. The Stereo store had it ordered for me and was shocked that I had it in my hand... Buy it!!!!!!! My mustang is now complete!!!!m Video to come tonight!!!
Pros: everything, but the 3 buttons for you to choose rocks!!!! It even has many buttons with the icon toset up the memory... Raised screen, better display of the LCD screen, Cubby at the bottom, price, easy install...
Cons: The USB connections in the front are only for the after market stereo, and if you have an Apple device, you will have the Ipod cable sticking out..(I didn't use the USB)

The MUS1 kit is needed to retrofit a double din aftermarket stereo to a non-navigation Ford Mustang Shaker system. It also adds two interchangeable ports and a storage slot underneath the stereo. The ports will need be connected to the stereo from the rear and can be either USB, HDMI or 3.5mm.This eliminates most hard buttons from original dash and transfers them to digital display on the aftermarket stereo. This unit allows you to keep your stock display. The Scosche kit displays "Mustang" on this screen. The Metra kit eliminates this display all together. Yes, Yes and YES! It's awesome. The more expensive Scosche verson just says "mustang GT" or "V6 Mustang" when it's playing - so annoying. But this beauty will display the song name and artist when you're on MP3s and it'll show the date and time on start up. In other words, it works the way Ford always intended the screen to work stock.
