About the Music Hall MMF-2.2

Unwind with warm analog sound

If you've never experienced the warm and natural sound that vinyl is famous for, the MMF-2.2 is a great place to start. This solidly built Music Hall turntable makes an excellent choice for seasoned audiophiles and vinyl newcomers alike who want to get outstanding sound quality without spending a fortune. Music Hall's minimalist design philosophy focuses on the features that benefit sonic performance — no unnecessary bells and whistles here. With its simple, elegant appearance and high-gloss piano black lacquer finish, this table will look and sound fantastic atop your audio rack.

High-quality construction for top-notch performance

The MMF-2.2's sturdy MDF chassis rests on vibration damping rubber feet that provide a solid, low-resonance foundation. Its heavy steel alloy platter spins on a high-precision stainless steel and bronze bearing assembly for excellent speed stability and smooth, silent rotation. The motor mount and belt drive system effectively isolate the motor's vibration from the chassis to prevent noise from being transferred to the cartridge. An external AC power supply helps further reduce any traces of interference or hum. Finally, the table's rigid, one-piece aluminum alloy tonearm provides superb tracking ability to faithfully follow the grooves of your albums, and includes a silicone-damped lift for gently raising and lowering the arm — protecting both the stylus and your records.

Quick and easy to assemble

Music Hall knows that turntable setup can be a challenge for the novice. That's why the MMF-2.2 comes out of the box virtually ready to play. Its pre-matched, factory-mounted phono cartridge and tonearm take the guesswork out of installation, and give you optimized sound quality with minimal effort. A few simple steps to dial in key settings like tracking force, anti-skating, and platter speed are all it takes to get this player primed and ready to deliver spacious, detailed music.

Features

Overview: The Music Hall MMF-2.2 is a two speed belt driven audiophile turntable that delivers superior audio performance. The construction of the MMF-2.2 has been simplified to focus on the critical music making components; the main bearing, motor, and arm. It is constructed using high quality components and comes complete with the cartridge mounted.

Note: The Music Hall MMF-2.2 turntable is available in high gloss piano black, red, or white finish.

MDF Plinth w/ Damping Feet: The medium density fiber (MDF) plinth stands on three special, resonance damping feet for exceptional stability.

Note: The turntable should be positioned on a low-resonance surface such as wood or multiple layer ply-board to avoid structural vibrations disturbing replay.

Alloy Platter with Felt Mat: The Music Hall MMF-2.2 turntable features an alloy platter and comes with a felt mat.

Stainless Steel/Bronze Bearing Assembly: The alloy platter runs on a precision, stainless steel and bronze bearing assembly to provide fluid and quiet operation.

Belt-Driven: The Music Hall turntable employs a low noise fully manual belt drive design that supports two speeds (33/45 rpm). A 45 rpm adapter is included.

1-Piece Alloy Tone-Arm: The Music Hall MMF-2.2 turntable features a one piece alloy tone-arm for superb tracking ability.

MM Phono Cartridge: The Music Hall Tracker moving magnet (MM) phono cartridge is pre-mounted and properly aligned. The turntable's elliptical stylus is user replaceable.

Note: If your amplifier does not have a suitable Phono MM input, a separate phono pre-amplifier (sold separately) is required to connect the turntable to your amplifier.

Fixed Audio Cable: The Music Hall Turntable is fitted with an attached 41" stereo audio cable with high-quality gold RCA connectors. Connect the turntable to the Phono input of your home receiver.

Dust Cover: The Music Hall MMF-2.2 comes supplied with a dust cover to prevent dust build-up on the turntable.

Isolated Motor: The motor is isolated from the plinth to reduce vibration transmission.

AC Power Adapter: The turntable operates off of standard household current using the supplied external AC power adapter.

Q
Does this come with a tracker cartridge or magic 2? The description says tracker but other reviews say magic 2.
[ Mike  Aug 17, 2017 ]

A
Mine was equipped with a magic 2 cartridge.
[ JIM  Aug 21, 2017 ]
A
The Music Hall MMF-2.2 comes with the Magic 2 cartridge. The description does say the Tracker, but that is incorrect. The Magic 2 is basically the Ortofon OM 10 Super which is a pretty good phono cartridge. The Tracker is a Goldring Elektra cartridge made by Goldring for Music Hall. They both are similar in sound quality and performance.
[ Ramiro  Aug 19, 2017 ]
A
It comes with a Tracker cartridge.
[ Philip  Aug 19, 2017 ]
A
Mine came with a magic 2. I got it in November of 2016.
[ Morgan  Aug 18, 2017 ]
Q

A
Two; 33 and 45
[ JIM  Jul 18, 2017 ]
A
The Music Hall MMF2 haw two speed (33/45 rpm). You need to manually adjust right under the bladder, very easy. Great product!
[ Ken  Jul 12, 2017 ]
A
Just two, 33 1/3 and 45. The belt has to be repositioned to get 45rpm
[ Ralph  Jul 11, 2017 ]
A
It has 33 and 45. You have to remove the platter and move the belt on the spindle to change speeds.
[ WESLEY  Jul 11, 2017 ]
A
Oops! It does have 45 RPM as well!
[ JOSEPH M.  Jul 11, 2017 ]
A
One speed: 331/3 RPM.
[ JOSEPH M.  Jul 11, 2017 ]
A
Two, 33 1/3 and 45. This is definitely no frills, so you have to move a belt to a different pulley to change speeds. Not a casual undertaking. On the other hand I haven't got any 45's anyway...
[ Morgan  Jul 11, 2017 ]
Q
is there anything missing? what is damaged on it?
[ bill  Mar 27, 2016 ]

A
These open-box items have minor cosmetic damage. They may be missing non-essential accessories. In some cases the manufacturer's accessories have been replaced with generic equivalents. The manufacturer's warranty applies. Our 60 day satisfaction guarantee still applies as well. If you have any additional questions I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.

Q
Can this player operate on 240V?
[ George  Oct 08, 2015 ]
2 answers
A
The manual claims that you can. However, It's a DC controlled motor so I guess the transformer figures it for you.
[ Steven  Oct 10, 2015 ]
A
Not that I am aware of.
