Transparent, detailed, loud.

Sound is very transparent and detailed, but seems loud compared to my ML ESL main speakers, even though I set them up with the microphone auto-balancing in my Denon AVR 4300H receiver. I'm listening to stereo CDs, in addition to the TV.

Perfect pairing with Electromotion ESL towers, sounds great for home theater use. Love the unique look of the speaker.

Best center channel I have ever heard, very clear and crisp voice detail. better than the Definitive Technology CS-9060 I was using, well worth the extra cost for the upgrade

Love, love love this speaker! I have been running a B&W center for close to 20 years and wanted an upgrade, not just a new speaker, but clear upgrade. I'm really shocked by how much better my system sounds with this new Martin Logan! Dialog is clear and present, the sound stage seems larger, actually it is larger and fuller and smoother. We all know the center channel is the most important speaker in the room, at least when watching TV or Movies.. and this speaker does absolute justice to Martin Logan's fabulous reputation! I had no idea what a huge difference a folded motion tweeter could make on the overall sound and timbre of the soundtracks.. I've revisited a whole bunch of old favorites since retweaking/recalibrating the system to maximize the ESL-C and not a one has disappointed!
Pros: Everything about this speaker is a PRO
Cons: Difficult to say this is a "con", but the CenterForce design makes it kind of distracting/confusing to look into the front of the speaker. You can see through the electrostatic panel that wraps the whole front giving it an empty, metallic, vacuous appearance. It's kind of weird.. kind of cool, very different...

Best Center by Far

Great center to match my side front stage martin logans. Suprise in a box has nice clarity and a nice boom when needed. All in all very happy with my purchase and the Martin Logan brand.

Cons: A bit large and pricey, but you get what you pay for, quality.

Just purchased Classic ESL 9's. Needed a matching center to fit in my audio cabinet. Perfect fit, looks and sounds amazing. Not only do I enjoy listening to it but I also enjoy looking at it!
Pros: Awesome center, good enough to be stand alone.
Cons: None, in my case.

Outstanding Center Speaker

Outstanding speaker! I got this to replace a Polk S35 (which is a great-sounding, budget-friendly center speaker!). It does not disappoint! The dialogue is clear and there is surprisingly good bass, too! This is an electrostatic speaker, so, you will need access to an AC outlet. It's a big box! You either need room on / in your AV stand / cabinet, or you may have to put your TV on a riser. The binding posts are easy to use. I especially appreciate their large size. This speaker matches well with my other MLs: EM ESL fronts, Motion 4is in the rear, and ML AFX atmos-enabled height speakers. They sound great together! I'm powering this ESL C with an Emotiva 3 XPA Gen 3 amp. While I haven't cranked it yet (housemates), it seems like plenty of power, and it sounds great at low-volume. It's a bit pricey, and, if you can afford it, get it!

Debated on this or the motion 50xti. I had never heard the ESL C until I got it home and plugged it in. It sounds just as beautiful as it looks the best center I've heard to date.
Pros: Great price for what you get with all the tec
Cons: It will make you lazy not wanting to get up because it sounds so good

Perfect choice for center channel speaker

This is the front center speaker that I've looked for. I have 2 Martin Logan tower speakers for front side and have looked for front center. I purchased Martin Logan Motion 50XT at first. I found the sound not matched well with 2 front sides. Motion 50XT produced powerful sounds but it was biased to bass and weak at mid to high frequency. I finally returned 50XT and purchased this ElectroMotion ESL C. Clear and crispy sound. I'm very satisfied with this speaker. If you already own Martin Logan tower speakers for front side, this is a must for center channel speaker.
