Features

Overview: The JBL LCT 81C/T is a full-range, 70/100V, ceiling speaker designed to lay into a standard 2' x 2' US-style suspended grid ceiling, with no cutting of ceiling tiles, making for an easy and cost-effective installation. They feature a low-profile 4" depth, allowing them to fit in locations where space is not available for deeper speakers. The ceiling speakers can handle up to 40W of continuous program power, in 8Ω mode, and up to 10W in a 70/100V configuration.

Applications: The LCT 81C/T speakers are designed to provide excellent performance for paging and light-to-medium level music in locations, including classrooms, business music systems, retail stores, airports, lounges, reception/waiting rooms, and more.

Construction: The JBL ceiling speakers feature a single 8" dual-cone driver with a very high 96dB of sensitivity, providing maximum sound level, up to 114dB maximum SPL (8Ω), even at low tap settings. The driver features a 1" diameter voice coil with a Kapton coil-former and high-temperature wire for better heat dissipation and long-term reliability. The single driver is housed in a sealed, steel enclosure with a perforated metal grille, that carries both a UL1480A and UL2043 certifications for use in ceiling plenum spaces.

70/100V/8Ω: The LCT 81C/T ceiling speakers can be run in either a low-impedance (8Ω) mode, handling up to 40W of program power, or in a 70 or 100V application, with up to 10W of power handling. Connection to the speaker is done through a pre-attached 8" section of bare-ended speaker wire (18AWG). The speaker wire input is protected by a removable metal cover that includes punch-outs for passing the wire through. A rotary tap dial on the rear side of the enclosure provides the following tap settings:

• 70V: 1.3W, 2.5W, 5W, 10W
• 100V: 2.5W, 5W, 10W
• 8Ω: Bypass

Mounting: The JBL LCT 81C/T speakers have been designed to lay into a standard US-style 2' x 2' suspended ceiling grid, with no cutting of ceiling tiles. The speaker also features a shallow 4" mounting depth for use in tight spaces. The back baffle includes 2 tabs and 4 pre-drilled holes for use as safety/seismic  attachment points (safety cables not included).
