Totally different sound whether through BT or cabled. Won't use via BT for music. Too thin and tinny, yuck. Respectable sound when using jack, though you have to play with EQ to get full bottom end sound at lower volumes. Other than that, crisp and clear.

Purchased these speakers for my daughter. Her first multi media speakers for an entry level sound design class. I hook these up to my computer to test them before she starts school in September. For the purchase price the sound is as good as I was hoping for and better than I expected. The added features of Bluetooth, headphone and aux inputs are a definite plus. Setup is a no brainer. I am very happy with this purchase. Dealing with Crutchfield is always a pleasure. Fast, reliable and friendly service .

Pros: -seem well made for the price -Mackie name -Bluetooth -headphone and aux inputs -sounds good

Cons: the sound doesn't move me

I was pleasantly surprised with these little speakers... i took a chance as they were the most bang for the buck ... I use them for listening to my vinyl collection in my bedroom... quite honestly the whole second floor of the house is filled with great sound if I keep my door open! The Bluetooth works very well for my digital music on my iPhone when not listening to vinyl.... I'm very happy with these Mackies!

Pros: Great sound for little speakers... good balance between treble and bass

Cons: Could use a grill to protect speakers

Very pleased. Got these for the office. Easy setup, BT connection worked effortlessly but the hardware connections keep it even simpler. Accurate sound (I haven't cranked them up), easy volume control on front, nice to be able able to select right and left speaker setups. Couldn't be happier!

Balanced Sound

Bob from Tehachapi, CA on 1/25/2018

I am very pleased with these speakers. They produce balanced sound, with good bass, clear highs, and the right amount of mid. At this price point, it would be difficult to do better. I use the speakers with my I pad, using Bluetooth in my "music room", a moderately sized bedroom. In addition to just listening to music for pleasure, I play guitar along with music to improve my guitar skills and learn new riffs and solos.

Pros: Good sound quality, and the convenience of Bluetooth.

Cons: None

Mackie CR4BT Speakers: Small Package, Big Sound

Al from Sykesville, MD on 12/30/2017

Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The Mackie CR4BT speakers are clean sounding through the midranges with a respectable amount of bass and just the right amount of high frequency response. On Christmas morning, my 19 year old granddaughter (the happy recipient of these) played a lot of jazz and rock music ranging from 1960's through modern day, using vinyl on her also-new AT-60-BT turntable which we connected using cables. The sound is full and rich thorough the Mackie speakers, in a large area about 28 ft. x 21 ft. The speakers however were purchased for use in a much smaller room upstairs, about 10 ft. x 11 ft., and there they sound awesome. We like the bluetooth feature also and it worked perfectly from her iPhone and sounded equally as awesome. The small speaker size and weight makes it ideal for wall shelves, dorm rooms or other small rooms where they are capable of room-filling volume while staying relatively distortion-free. My only concern - I'd recommend that Mackie might design some grill covers for the next iteration of these if for no other reason than to simply provide some protection to the speaker cones.

Pros: Compact size, easy to set up, clean easy to use controls, good looking

Cons: Could use grill covers for protection

Features

Built-In Bluetooth 3.0: The CR4BT features music streaming via Bluetooth 3.0. Just pair your smartphone, tablet, or other Bluetooth enabled device and instantly stream music.

Two-Way Speaker Design: Each Mackie CR4BT multimedia monitor speaker features a two-way driver design with one 0.75" ferrofluid-cooled, silk-dome tweeter and one 4" polypropylene-coated woofer with rubber sound. This combination of premium drivers provides a rich and natural studio-quality sound.

Built-in Amplifier: All drivers are powered by a built-in 28W RMS/50W Peak Class AB amplifier which provides clean, articulate stereo sound and an ultra-wide frequency response of 70Hz to 20,000Hz.

Bass Reflex MDF Enclosure:  The CR4BT multimedia monitor speakers employ a bass reflex enclosure with custom-tuned rear-firing ports for smooth, even bass extension. These all-wood MDF cabinets provide a natural sonic character superior to low-grade plastic designs. The CR4BT speakers do not included grilles.

Convenient Controls: A convenient front-panel volume knob with lit power-ring give you On/Off/Volume control and power indication. There is a rear-panel speaker placement switch which lets you choose which side of your desk gets the speaker with the volume knob.

Balanced & Unbalanced Analog Inputs: The CR4BT multimedia speakers give you a choice of analog inputs including stereo 1/4" TRS jacks (balanced or unbalanced) and stereo RCA jacks (unbalanced) on the back panel, plus a 3.5mm aux input (unbalanced) on the front-panel. A stereo minijack cable and a stereo minijack-to-RCA cable are included.

Speaker Cable: Because the amplifier is built into only one of the CR4BT multimedia monitor speakers, you'll need to connected the included 6' speaker cable between the two loudspeakers rear-panel spring-clip terminals.

Headphone Jack: A dedicated front-panel headphone jack (3.5mm) provides the opportunity to quickly listen to a different source, which is great for any professional. Plugging in phones defeats the speakers for truly silent work and you can quickly adjust levels with the main volume knob.

Isolation Pads: The two included professional-grade isolation pads minimize unwanted bass buildup and allow you to tilt the monitors up or down a bit for more focused listening.

Q
Can this be wall mounted ?
[ Mahesh  May 22, 2019 ]
3 answers
A
There are no mounts. Also there are ports on the back which of covered would affect the sound.
[ George  May 22, 2019 ]
A
Build or buy shelves. Mount the shelves on the walls and put the speakers on top of them. Duh!
[ Jeff  May 22, 2019 ]
A
There isn't any type of integrated mounting hardware or attachment points on the rear of the speakers, so you'd need to find some type of universal clamp mount to attach them to a wall.
