Great quality product

Great quality product. If you plan to use as one big strip (16.4 feet long) it's super easy, just connect 4 wires to a switch or a controller. If you plan to cut into sections like a boat, plan to do some soldering on very small electronics or have a shop install them. You will need some way of attaching them, I used 3M double sided tape 10mm wide. If you just want one or two colors get a DPDT toggle switch (black wire is battery positive). If you want 256 colors or ability to change to the music, get the controller ($116). I plan to do a full review on YouTube soon.

Pros: Well made, bright, flexible

Cons: Self-adhesive not included, RGB-W with White would be better, difficult to install due to soldering tiny wires

Customer Q&A

Q
Can you split this up in sections? E.g. have say a 4' section, then a few feet of wiring to another 4' section at a different location?

Colin nailed it! You can cut it every 2" so you can get almost any length you want My Bio: https://www.crutchfield.com/bio/Paul

Yes. It can be cut every foot or so. There is a gold spot in the strip that shows you where to cut

Q
can more then one spool go into the same switch/control panel?

Are you referring to the controller?
[ cesar  Jan 21, 2019 ]
A
Yes, the limit is on how many feet are in series. You are wanting to run them parallel, that is not an issue.

Q
Are these water proof?

A
Yes. They are a superb product. However, I had other issues with cutting and splicing so I ruined the light strips. I ended up buying multiple light strips from amazon for my application.
