These speakers get Loud! The advantage of a horn loaded speaker is the fact that it throws the sound out far so someone on a wake board can hear. I am very happy with sound I get out of this top of the line speaker. My only dislike about this speaker is the way the swivel mounts work. There is slop where my speaker can wiggle side to side as I hit bumps while driving and there is no way to take this slop out with the way the mount is design. I also hate the fact that to swivel the speaker you have to have an Allen wrench instead of having a quick release lever like other models such as the kicker's. The Allen screw that you tighten to keep the speaker from spinning works itself loose no matter how much you think you can humanly tighten the bolt which results in having to stop the boat to again tighten the swivel mount as the wind hitting it while driving will twist the speaker sideways. In my opinion the swivel mount needs to be revamped as this is a deign flaw. A rear facing positioned speaker is nice while wake boarding, but at tie-ups in the cove I wish I could aim the speakers without having use an allen wrench as other brands like kicker have a quick release level which is pretty sweet. Wetsound's was first to game to offer a loud horn driven speaker with a swivel clamp. Last year Kicker came out with a competitor. the Kicker 44KMTC94. This model is around the same price, handles more more power=louder, has a better swivel clamp. I have 2003 Moomba
Pros: great sound and loud!
Cons: Swivel Mount takes allen wrench instead of quick release level. Allen screw is always coming loose and requires tightening. Speaker has slop from side to side that cannot be taken out due to mount design.
